Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Stunning Everyone
Ashley Shaw pretended to be angry, "Are you calling me a dog?"
Ariana Grant shrugged, "How could I? You can’t expect ivory from a dog’s mouth, but didn’t you just speak like one?"
"......"
Why did she still feel it wasn’t a compliment?
Grandpa Prescott watched the two bicker, so happily that his eyes squinted with joy.
This was more entertaining than a comedy skit.
Just as he was about to speak, Grandpa Prescott caught a glimpse of the person following behind Warren Prescott.
He raised an eyebrow, "Dr. Zane is here?"
Dr. Zane, whose full name is Dominic Zane, is the family doctor of the Prescott Family. It’s the weekend, and he doesn’t stay over the weekends.
Seeing him, Ashley Shaw was a little surprised, quickly went over to greet him.
"Uncle Zane."
"Ashley."
"You came just in time, could I trouble you to take a look at my friend? She has a lot of injuries, but she accidentally fell into the pool just now, and her wounds got wet. I don’t know how she is now."
Dominic Zane smiled and nodded.
"Of course, Warren just called me to have a look at your friend’s wounds."
Ashley Shaw was bewildered, turning her gaze, only to meet Warren Prescott’s deep, unreadable black eyes.
So he had left earlier to pick up Dr. Zane.
No wonder he left in such a hurry and returned so quickly.
Warren seemed to sense her gaze, lifted his eyes and looked at her.
At the moment their eyes met, Ashley Shaw instinctively wanted to look away, but heard Warren say, "Aren’t you going to change clothes? Waiting to give Uncle Zane more work?"
Although he was worried about her catching a cold, his words came out as reproach.
Ashley Shaw frowned slightly, just about to speak when Ariana Grant echoed Warren’s words, "Right, Ashley, Warren is right. Go change your clothes, or you’ll catch a cold. I’m too tired to take care of you now."
"Don’t worry, I’m fine, wouldn’t trouble you at all."
"Go quickly, go quickly, I took a look at your clothes when I brought them in, they’re beautiful!"
Ashley Shaw wasn’t really concerned about the beauty of the clothes, but the clothes she was wearing were completely soaked through.
Although she wore a black T-shirt that wasn’t see-through, it stuck to her body, which was somewhat embarrassing.
"I’ll go change, wait for me here."
"Go ahead!" Ariana Grant gave her a push, then walked over to Dr. Zane.
"Thank you, Doctor."
Dominic Zane laughed, "You can just call me Uncle Zane with Ashley, come, sit here, and I’ll check you out."
"Okay."
Dominic Zane was once a renowned cardiologist, but after an accident, his right hand was severely injured.
Though it was saved through treatment, he could no longer do delicate work nor hold a scalpel, hence he resigned from the hospital.
But being idle wasn’t for him, Elder Prescott, who had a heart condition, invited him to be a family doctor.
After two years of getting along, he’s almost like a part of the Prescott Family.
His gentle nature and extensive clinical experience made him very trustworthy for Ariana Grant’s injury, as sure as catching a fish in hand.
Relieved, Ashley Shaw quickly headed to the changing room.
Perhaps due to Ariana Grant just having blow-dried her hair, as Ashley opened the door, a mix of humid air and disinfectant smell rushed at her.
She wasn’t aware of it before, but once in the changing room, she felt the cold hit her body.
She quickly scanned the room; the pool had been expanded and reconstructed, but the changing room was smaller.
The Prescott Family rarely used it, preferring to head upstairs to change in their rooms.
Though small, the changing room was well-equipped with things like hairdryers.
Ashley Shaw took off her soaked clothes, shivering slightly as the cold engulfed her, goosebumps appearing on her skin.
She quickly grabbed a disposable towel and wrapped it around herself, then turned on the hairdryer to dry her hair.
The warm air hit her face, and she closed her eyes, letting the warmth penetrate her locks.
As her hair gradually dried, she started to warm up.
Once done, she quickly changed into the clothes Assistant Lowell brought.
While Ariana Grant’s was a suit, hers was a long white dress.
The dress wrapped down to her ankles.
She would struggle even if she were a centimeter shorter.
The fabric was soft, bringing a sense of reassurance once on.
Before leaving, she glanced at herself in the mirror.
The girl in the mirror wore a simple yet elegant white Chanel logo dress.
Her naturally delicate and pure features were even more striking in this outfit.
Ashley Shaw was surprised by Assistant Lowell’s taste.
No wonder Warren highly valued him; he was truly an all-rounder.
Concerned about Ariana Grant’s injuries, she only took a quick glance before hurriedly heading out.
Meanwhile, those by the pool noticed the approaching footsteps and instinctively looked toward Ashley Shaw.
Warren followed their gaze, and upon seeing the dazzling figure, something flickered in his eyes.
Ashley Shaw’s skin gleamed like smooth white jade under the pool lights.
As she moved, the hem of the dress swayed lightly like a blooming flower, making her appear to glow.
The dress suited her perfectly.
It seemed tailor-made just for her.
Warren’s throat bobbed slightly, slowly looking away, suddenly feeling a bit thirsty.
Even Dominic Zane, busy treating Ariana Grant’s wounds, chuckled and remarked, "Haven’t seen her for over a month, and Ashley has grown into quite the lady."
Ashley Shaw paid no heed to everyone’s mesmerized looks, her focus solely on Ariana Grant.
Seeing Ariana’s pale lips, she quickly asked Dominic Zane, "Uncle Zane, how is my friend?"
"Nothing serious, the wounds have been treated again. I’ll prepare some oral medication for you to take back, follow the dosage, and there won’t be any infections."
Ashley Shaw nodded and sincerely thanked him.
"No need to thank, we’re practically family."
Dominic Zane said, lifting the medical kit from the floor, "I’ll head to my room to prepare the meds, come upstairs to get them later."
"Okay."
Watching Dominic Zane leave, Ashley glanced at the clock on the pool wall.
It was already nine o’ clock.
She wondered if Ms. Grant was waiting for her.
Her phone fell in the water, so she dared not turn it on, unable to contact her.
With these thoughts, Ashley told Elder Prescott, "Elder Prescott, it’s getting late. You should head upstairs to rest; we’ll leave after picking up the medicine."
"Alright!" Elder Prescott nodded, "I’ve prepared a gift for you and Ariana for the new school year. I had Mark leave them in Warren’s car, don’t forget to grab them when you get home."
Ashley Shaw nodded, "Okay."
After Elder Prescott left, Warren tossed a "I’ll wait for you in the car" over his shoulder and left as well.
Ashley originally wanted to tell Warren they came on an electric scooter, and they could leave on their own.
But seeing Ariana not in the best condition, she swallowed her words.
