Chapter 365: Farewell

Chapter 365: Chapter 365: Farewell

Ashley Shaw responded, "Okay, let’s go ahead of time and take a stroll around Aethelgard."

Cillian on the other end said, "Sounds good, you can have a nice few days there."

"Yes, please pass the message to Ms. Grant for me, I’ll hang up now."

About to hang up, Cillian’s voice came through, "What time is your flight?"

After a pause, he added, "She might want to come see you off."

Ashley Shaw said, "Five o’clock, T3. But tell her it’s fine if she’s busy, I might come back for National Day."

Ariana Grant told her that she might have sold her apartment by National Day and would need to come back to sign the agreement.

"Okay. I’ll let her know."

Ashley Shaw said, "Goodbye," and then ended the call.

Returning home, she found Justin Grant and Joyce Sutton there as well.

Joyce Sutton was talking with Ariana Grant about something, and both were laughing heartily.

Joyce Sutton pressed the corner of her eyes and said, "You’re really a joy-bringer; I shouldn’t meet you too often, I’ll probably go home with more wrinkles today."

—— From laughing.

Ashley Shaw replied, "What are you afraid of wrinkles at eighteen?"

Joyce Sutton’s smile widened a bit.

"Oh, you two, why didn’t I come to see you sooner?"

Ashley Shaw chuckled and brought up Livia Sutton.

Joyce Sutton was somewhat surprised, "You know Joy? That’s great; once school starts, you guys can often meet up, and I’ll come hang out with you when I’m free."

"That sounds good."

After chatting for a bit, Justin Grant came out from his old room, holding a family album, "Ariana, do you want to keep this?"

Ariana Grant hesitated for a moment but nodded, "Then I’ll take it with me."

Joyce Sutton didn’t respond, but she didn’t look displeased and brought up another matter.

"I told your dad that we’d come by today to help you break down the furniture, but it’s surprising you two young ladies did it yourselves. Remember to call us for this kind of thing in the future, in case you get scammed."

"We did it upon recommendation by the security guard, who was very nice and got us reliable people."

"Reliable is good."

After chatting a bit more, noticing nearly three o’clock, Joyce Sutton said, "We’ll give you a ride to the airport, so you don’t have to call a taxi."

Ariana Grant felt a bit embarrassed and wanted to politely refuse, but Joyce Sutton said, "Refusing means you don’t consider me family."

Hearing this, Ashley Shaw knew Joyce Sutton already considered Ariana one of her own.

She gave Ariana Grant a look, and seeing Ashley Shaw’s encouragement, Ariana happily nodded, "Then I’ll trouble you, Aunt Sutton."

"What’s the trouble?" Joyce Sutton said and turned to Justin, "You still have to work, right? You’re over an hour late; hurry up."

"Alright, I’m leaving then. Ariana, call us when you get there."

"Okay, Dad."

Justin Grant helped them load the luggage into the car and then took a taxi himself.

Three women, lots of conversations along the way to the airport, and the atmosphere was indeed quite joyful.

She remembered when she used to come to Ariana Grant’s house, Jade Coleman was always disdainful; later, when Jade knew she was adopted by the Prescott Family, a sudden shift happened, and she started inviting her over for meals.

But after coming over, she wasn’t as comfortable as before, so she seldom visited.

She couldn’t help but think to herself, people are indeed different.

She regretted not having helped Ariana build a good relationship with Joyce Sutton in her past life.

But many things only become clear after experiencing them; she felt fortunate to have a second chance and cherished every day now.

Upon reaching the airport, Joyce Sutton initially wanted to wait until they passed security before leaving, but she had to leave early due to a minor issue at her hotel.

"It’s okay, don’t worry about us, go ahead."

"Alright, I’ll leave then."

Saying goodbye to Jade, it was almost time to go through security. Just about to proceed, Ashley Shaw suddenly saw a familiar figure running towards her.

"Ashley!"

It was Cillian.

Ashley Shaw was quite surprised and approached, asking, "Why are you here? What about Ms. Grant?"

Cillian was slightly out of breath and waited until he calmed to speak, "She couldn’t make it, so she asked me to see you off."

He said, pulling a small box from his pocket.

"This is a gift from my sister for your start of school."

Ashley Shaw received it with surprise, "She’s so busy but still managed to prepare this for me, thank her for me."

"Okay. Are you going through security already?"

"Yes, we were just about to go; sorry to trouble you with a trip."

"It’s nothing, I’m just free."

His task was accompanying Ivy Bond, but Ivy was asleep under medication, with at least another hour till she woke.

"Then we won’t keep you any longer, you should hurry back, you must have a lot to do."

"Alright. You go on, I’ll watch you head over."

"Okay." Ashley Shaw nodded, with Ariana Grant waving towards him, they went through security carrying their small bags.

After passing security, Ashley Shaw noticed Cillian still there.

They exchanged glances, and Cillian raised his hand to wave.

Ashley Shaw also waved back and walked inside with Ariana Grant.

Inside, Ariana Grant, bubbling with curiosity, asked, "Quickly check! What is it?"

Ashley Shaw opened it and saw it was a Van Cleef & Arpels white shell bracelet.

Simple yet elegant, very beautiful; she quite liked it.

Ariana Grant made a couple of clicking sounds and said, "Truly a romantic soul, huh."

Ashley Shaw was puzzled, "Who?"

"Cillian!"

Ashley Shaw explained, "Don’t get it wrong, this was given by Ms. Grant."

Ariana Grant said with meaning, "Really? Are you sure it was Ms. Grant who gifted it?"

"Of course, who else?"

Ariana Grant shrugged and said, "If you handled feelings with even a third of your culinary skills, you wouldn’t be like this."

"What do you mean?"

Ariana Grant analyzed step by step.

"Look, it’s true Ms. Grant has a good relationship with you, but she’s also quite close with me."

"If she really wanted to give a school gift, why would she just give it to you, knowing we’re both going to Aethelgard together?"

Finally, she deduced, "So, this bracelet wasn’t given by Ms. Grant but by Cillian himself."

Ashley Shaw sternly said, "Don’t over-analyze, Cillian has a girlfriend."

Ariana Grant replied, "But you know better than I do what the deal is with that girlfriend of his."

Ashley Shaw was at a loss for words, and inexplicably felt the bracelet a bit hot to handle.

She had originally planned to wear it now, but turned and placed it back into its box, and slipped the box into her bag.

Ariana Grant leaned over gossipingly and asked, "Do you want to call Ms. Grant and ask? I’d bet she doesn’t know about the bracelet."
