Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Not Entirely Heartless
Ashley Shaw’s mind went blank for a moment, then her cheeks flushed red.
In her eyes, Xavier Quincy was not a man, nor a boy, but always a brother.
The role of "brother" was completely unconnected with "sex," so she never associated Xavier Quincy with "sex."
Now with Warren Prescott suddenly saying this, she felt as if she had been struck by lightning.
It was as if something sacred had been profaned.
Warren Prescott noticed Ashley Shaw’s reaction from the corner of his eye and smiled.
"Do you want to know at what age he lost it?"
Ashley Shaw’s face turned cold.
"I don’t want to know, just focus on driving."
Warren Prescott ignored her response and said, "Sixteen."
"You’re talking nonsense!"
"Why would I lie about this? But it seems you really didn’t know, he was the wildest among us. He was a regular at the ’Mansion.’
Ashley Shaw said without thinking, "Impossible."
"Then let’s make a bet, I’ll turn around now and secretly follow them to the ’Mansion.’ When you push open the door, you’ll definitely find a ’princess’ sitting on his lap."
Ashley Shaw knew what "princess" meant.
She couldn’t imagine that scene.
"Oh, I might be wrong, it might not just be one, there could be two. After all, he has two legs to sit on."
Ashley Shaw took a deep breath and said, "You’re really boring."
"So, will you bet?"
"Not betting! What’s there to bet on this kind of thing?"
"So do you believe what I said now?" He hadn’t uttered a single lie.
Ashley Shaw closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them suddenly and said, "What about you? At what age did you lose it?"
Warren Prescott was taken aback.
He hadn’t expected Ashley Shaw to have the guts to ask such a question.
Ashley Shaw saw the change in Warren Prescott’s expression and suddenly felt a sense of victory.
She pressed her advantage and asked, "Why aren’t you speaking? Were you fifteen? Or sixteen? Was it fourteen? Or even younger?"
Warren Prescott gritted his teeth, "I don’t have such a habit! Those things, I only do with someone I like."
Hearing this, Ashley Shaw’s expression froze slightly, then she suddenly laughed mockingly.
"That’s not necessarily true."
In her past life, he didn’t like her, yet he still did it with her.
Moreover, they even had a child.
A child... that was just a small seed, snuffed out in the cradle.
So, men’s words really can’t be believed.
Warren Prescott’s face turned dark, "What do you mean it’s not necessarily true?"
Ashley Shaw didn’t respond.
But Warren Prescott said seriously and earnestly, "What I say is always what I mean, especially about those things. I have a hygiene obsession, I find it dirty!"
When it comes to matters between men and women, let alone seeking out a woman, even if someone held a knife to his throat, he wouldn’t do it with someone he didn’t like!
That’s his principle.
Ashley Shaw didn’t understand why Warren Prescott was suddenly angry, only finding it somewhat laughable.
"Whatever you say," she said lightly.
Her breezy remark left Warren Prescott feeling choked, both frustrated and infuriated.
This damn girl had countless ways to frustrate him.
Warren Prescott’s face was an unsightly mix of emotions.
However, as they passed a pharmacy, he still pulled over.
"Wait for me a moment."
After saying this, he got out of the car and went directly into the pharmacy.
In less than a minute, Warren Prescott returned with a pharmacy bag in hand.
The bag was packed full of various items.
He tossed the bag into the trunk and returned to the driver’s seat.
Warren Prescott didn’t mention what he bought, and Ashley Shaw didn’t ask.
Probably because her period had come, after being busy all day, she was really exhausted, not wanting to say a word more.
But as they neared the community entrance, Ashley Shaw forced herself to be alert and brought up the reason she got in the car.
"See when you’re free, I’ll invite you and Grandpa Prescott to my house for dinner."
Warren Prescott glanced at her, then quickly looked back at the road.
"That’s not your home, the Prescott Family is. The old master keeps hoping you’ll come back to accompany him. There’s not much left of the holiday; if you have the time, come live there for a few days."
Ashley Shaw paused for a moment, not responding directly, only repeating, "See when you have time."
She said nothing more, but her rejection was evident.
Warren Prescott could no longer contain the anger he had been suppressing.
"Ashley Shaw, if you don’t want to see me at home, I can move out. But the old master has always been good to you, even better than to me, his own grandson. Can you have a little conscience?"
Ashley Shaw looked at Warren Prescott with an expressionless face.
The person least qualified to say anything to her was him.
Yet many things she couldn’t say, wasn’t able to say, couldn’t even express her hatred too clearly.
To keep the secret of her rebirth, she couldn’t show too much hate towards him.
"Then just consider me a heartless person," she said lightly, once again infuriating Warren Prescott to the point where he wanted to slap himself.
Why not slap Ashley Shaw?
Because he couldn’t bear to.
It was truly laughable, despite being so angry, he couldn’t even bring himself to think it.
He took several deep breaths, reminding himself it was his past bullying of her that caused this, he deserved it, so he couldn’t get angry.
Perhaps the psychological hint worked, his anger slowly subsided.
"Tomorrow," he suddenly said.
The change in tone was so sudden that Ashley Shaw didn’t react immediately.
"What about tomorrow?"
Warren Prescott gave her a "what do you think" look.
Ashley Shaw understood and said, "Tomorrow evening then?"
"Grandpa doesn’t like going out in the evening, his eyes aren’t good now and he can’t see well at night. Let’s do lunch instead."
Ashley Shaw felt a bit troubled.
She had already agreed to have lunch with Leo the next day.
"How about the day after tomorrow at noon?"
"Tomorrow at noon, if you’re not free, then another time."
Ashley Shaw pressed her lips together, finally agreeing.
"Then tomorrow at noon, let Grandpa Prescott know in the morning. I’ll get up early to buy groceries."
Warren Prescott gave a light hum, silently agreeing.
His mood inexplicably improved.
See, this girl wasn’t completely heartless.
She chose him over Leo.
Ashley Shaw lowered her head to send Leo a text.
Essentially asking if they could reschedule to tomorrow evening because she had something on at noon.
Until the car drove into the community, Leo still hadn’t responded.
Maybe he hadn’t seen it.
Ashley Shaw put her phone back in her bag and said, "Thanks for driving me home," before trying to get out of the car.
However, as soon as she got out, the driver’s side door opened and closed again.
Under the streetlights of the community, she saw Warren Prescott getting out too.
She gave him a questioning look.
Warren Prescott said irritably, "Do you have a memory like a fish? There’s a gift for you from the old master in the trunk."
