Chapter 847: Chapter 702: Liked You From the First Glance 43_2

The leading male classmate looked at the two, itching to come over and talk. Jian Dan smiled and politely answered the questions, dismissing them in a few words. The student was persistent and wanted to ask more, but Lai Wei’s cold gaze swept over them, and the classmates fell silent.

Jian Dan looked toward the window where Mi Lu and Zhao Linlin were struggling with the dishes. She quickly said to Lai Wei beside her, "Weiwei, hold our spot while I go help."

"Okay."

Jian Dan went over directly. If an accident were to happen, Lai Wei felt she shouldn’t have let Jian Dan go over, and Mi Lu and Zhao Linlin also didn’t want her to help.

The accident happened so suddenly. Jian Dan collided with a male classmate returning, and the scorching hot soup from his bowl spilled onto Jian Dan’s arm. Jian Dan cried out, drawing everyone’s attention.

"Little Jian Dan."

Mi Lu and Zhao Linlin left their dishes behind and rushed to Jian Dan. Lai Wei also got up quickly and went over. The three stood by Jian Dan’s side. The male student who bumped into her looked nervous, "Are you okay? It wasn’t intentional."

Jian Dan’s face turned pale, and she was too pained to speak. Lai Wei frowned, took out her phone, and called Hai En, "Come to the Third Cafeteria at Imperial University right now. Jian Dan got burned. We need to take her to the hospital."

"I’m coming right away."

Jian Dan was quickly taken to the affiliated hospital of Imperial University.

Fortunately, her clothes provided a layer of protection, and it wasn’t a severe burn, but it’ll still leave a scar once healed. Her arm, fair as jade, was marred by the red blisters, marring its appearance, the doctor reassured Jian Dan, "You can do a skin graft later if the scar bothers you, but for now, we need to heal it first. After applying ointment, let’s admit you for observation."

"I’m sorry," Mi Lu looked at Jian Dan’s arm with tearful eyes.

Jian Dan couldn’t help but smile, "Why are you apologizing? It wasn’t you who spilled soup on my arm. You and Linlin didn’t have lunch because of this. You both have classes in the afternoon, go back. I’m fine here."

Mi Lu looked at Zhao Linlin, who shook her head, "We can take a leave for the afternoon class. We’ll stay here with you until you’re better, then we’ll leave."

Jian Dan shook her head, "No need, listen to me. Go back. This isn’t a serious injury, and I’m in the hospital. The doctors know better. You three don’t have to stay here with me. Go back to school."

Reluctantly, Zhao Linlin and the others were convinced by Jian Dan.

Watching Hai En, Jian Dan finally managed to say thank you. Seeing him standing beside Lai Wei, she vaguely understood what made Lai Wei hesitant to speak.

She smiled, "Senior, could you take Weiwei back to class, please?"

Lai Wei frowned, just about to object, but Jian Dan countered her with the same reason. Lai Wei looked at her worriedly, "Are you really okay?"

Jian Dan nodded confidently, "I’m fine, I’ll call Aunt Lin to come and take care of me. Don’t worry."

"Alright, I’ll come see you after my afternoon classes."

"Okay."

...

Outside the hospital, Hai En held Lai Wei back, "I’m serious. I don’t want to just play around. I have no such thoughts, so can you talk to me? The fact that I’m the first one you think of in a situation shows that deep down, you accept me."

Lai Wei tried to walk past him, but Hai En, anxious, grabbed her wrist, "Weiwei."

Zhao Linlin and Mi Lu had already left, but they felt uneasy and wanted to go back to check on Jian Dan, unexpectedly witnessing this scene.

Zhao Linlin was the first to see it. She quickly pulled Mi Lu to the side, and the two of them hid behind the greenery, startling Mi Lu, "What are you doing?"

Her mouth was immediately covered.

Zhao Linlin gestured with her mouth, "Look, Weiwei and Hai En."

Her voice was strangely filled with excitement, like watching a show. Mi Lu tried to find a hint of sadness on her face, but this girl seemed to have no such emotions, her eyes full of mischief.

Mi Lu suddenly recalled Weiwei’s previous absent-mindedness and the things Jian Dan hinted at but didn’t say, keeping something a secret.

She roughly figured out what was going on. Could it be because of this?

Hai En held Lai Wei’s hand, not letting her leave, seemingly saying something to her. Lai Wei’s face turned slightly pale, her expression a mix of restraint and annoyance. Perhaps due to the distance, they couldn’t hear the conversation.

Mi Lu turned to Zhao Linlin and asked, "You see how Hai En is, clearly liking Weiwei, and you’re not upset?"
