Chapter 1080: Only The Two Of Us

Lan Xuanyu also wanted to see for himself—just how powerful a Dragon Knight truly was, and what kind of presence they possessed.

Such knowledge would be of vital importance to the Federation.

At this moment, retreat was not an option.

“Alright, I understand.” Tang Yuge raised a hand to stop Yuanen Huihui from speaking further.

Lan Xuanyu said solemnly, “While I’m gone, the Thirty-Three Sky Wings will be under your command. I’ll contact Elder Shu, Frenzie, Fatty, and Mengqin right away. There’s no time to waste—if we can summon everyone back in time, you’ll evacuate tonight.”

“Understood,” Tang Yuge replied without hesitation.

Everything outside remained calm, but for Lan Xuanyu and his companions, a storm was gathering.

When Elder Shu received Lan Xuanyu’s communication, he was taken aback.

Through the **Ring of Fate**, Lan Xuanyu could contact him directly on a level of life energy—completely immune to any kind of interception or eavesdropping.

“The effects of cultivation here are extraordinary,” Elder Shu said after listening. “The life level of this world is very high. After absorbing this energy, several of us have already begun to change internally—some may even be close to breaking through in the near future. Xuanyu, why don’t we stay behind with you? I can help if anything goes wrong.”

Lan Xuanyu’s reply was firm and immediate. “No. All of you are precious assets of the Academy. Before leaving, I promised the Pavilion Master that no matter what happens, your safety will be guaranteed.

“Besides, the School of Life cannot lose you, Elder Shu. Without you carrying the Ring of Fate, they wouldn’t even be able to return.

“If you all stayed and something went wrong—if no one could extract you—then one day you might become people of Celestial Dragon Planet yourselves.

“The plant-type soul beasts know too much about the Academy and the Federation. We can’t risk losing control of that knowledge. You *must* go.”

Elder Shu fell silent for a moment, then sighed. “Very well, I understand. I’ll recall everyone. But you must also understand, this course you’ve chosen—it’s reckless, even for you…”

Lan Xuanyu smiled faintly. “I’m sorry, Elder Shu, but I have to do this. If I don’t, we may never get another chance.”

Elder Shu let out a dry chuckle. “Fine. Honestly, after traveling with you, I finally understand why everyone worries about you so much—you really do dance on the edge of a blade. But that’s also why you’ve achieved so much.”

Lan Xuanyu grinned. “Don’t worry, you know who my parents are—Tang Wulin, the Golden Dragon King, and Guyue, the Silver Dragon King. I’m their son. I’ll be fine.”

Elder Shu laughed softly. “Then it’s settled. Fortunately, everyone isn’t too far apart. Our plan was to familiarize ourselves with this planet’s life energy first, then find suitable cultivation sites. We’ve all been cautious since arriving. I’ll summon everyone now; we should regroup by tonight. Come to us after dark.”

As night fell, Bai Xiuxiu stayed behind at her residence—intentionally letting the servants see her presence—while Lan Xuanyu used the Treasure Seeking Beast’s illusion ability to cloak himself and quietly left Fenglong City with his companions.

When he reunited with the plant-type elders, they all looked vibrant and full of energy, though their faces were filled with reluctance at leaving so soon. Still, they obeyed Lan Xuanyu’s instructions without complaint.

One by one, he stored them into the **Ring of Fate**, boarded a small fighter, and soared into space.

The departure went smoothly—no obstacles, no interception.

Only after safely delivering them to the **Thirty-Three Sky Wings warship** did Lan Xuanyu release Elder Shu from the ring and hand it back to him.

“You’ll wait here for seven days,” Lan Xuanyu said gravely. “If, after seven full Celestial Dragon days, you haven’t received a message from me, you must immediately return to the fleet. Don’t linger.”

Everyone looked at him silently, wanting to speak but holding their tongues.

Lan Xuanyu smiled faintly. “Don’t worry. Have I ever done anything without confidence? This time it’s dangerous, yes—but the odds are still in our favor.”

Then, after a moment’s pause, he turned to Tang Yuge. “If—just if—I can’t come back, you must tell Uncle Le not to act rashly. And tell him… I love them all.”

With that, he turned and strode away, afraid that if he stayed any longer, he might change his mind.

Everyone watched in silence as his starfighter launched into the skies and vanished from view.

The atmosphere aboard the warship grew heavy.

“Bang!”

Qian Lei slammed his fist against the wall, his voice trembling with anger. “If we were strong enough, we wouldn’t have to do this! Dragon Knights or not, we’d just crush them!”

Tang Yuge said solemnly, “Words won’t make us stronger. Xuanyu’s carrying too much on his shoulders already. If we want to help him, we have to grow stronger ourselves. Elder Shu, please release several of the plant seniors to assist our cultivation. We’ll train nonstop for these seven days.

“If Xuanyu and Xiuxiu truly don’t return… then one day, we’ll destroy the Celestial Dragon Planet ourselves—to avenge them.”

Elder Shu gazed at the young faces before him, his heart trembling.

Only now did he realize that he had been following Lan Xuanyu’s lead this entire time, unquestioningly—even though, in truth, *he* was the highest-ranking among them.

Why hadn’t he stopped the boy?

It was madness—so dangerous, and yet… if they didn’t take this risk, everything they’d built so far would collapse.

But now, it was too late to turn back.

Aside from Lan Xuanyu, no one else could infiltrate Celestial Dragon Planet unseen.

On the journey back to their residence, Lan Xuanyu’s emotions had already calmed. He reviewed every ability he possessed, every power he could wield, memorizing the smallest nuances in his body’s energy.

If the Dragon Knight truly discovered his and Bai Xiuxiu’s real identities… how high would their chances of escape be?

One thing was certain: with just the two of them, their odds were far higher.

After all, he now commanded the power of space.

When he returned, Bai Xiuxiu ran straight into his arms.

They held each other tightly, neither speaking a word.

After a long while, Lan Xuanyu gently patted her back. In his eyes, starlight flickered like countless constellations.

“Xiuxiu,” he whispered, “let’s start preparing. From this moment, we have no time to waste. Believe me—if we plan carefully, even against a Dragon Knight, I’ll get you out alive.”

Bai Xiuxiu nodded fiercely. “I told you before—no matter what happens, wherever you are, I’ll be there too.”

Lan Xuanyu smiled softly. “If our identities are exposed, the first thing we must do is create an opening to escape. Normally, the Emerald Demon Warship can only carry one person. But with my control over space, I can distort it temporarily—enough for both of us. That ship will be our key to survival.”

Bai Xiuxiu frowned. “We’ll still need a distraction to draw the Dragon Knight’s attention. But when we break away from him, even for an instant, we’ll need a window to enter the warship and flee. How do we get that chance? A True God–rank being can definitely seal space.”

Lan Xuanyu took a deep breath. “We’ll have to gamble. We still have two **Dragon’s Fury** bombs. If it comes to that, we’ll detonate both at once.

“The combined blast will be something even a True God can’t ignore—it’ll give us precious seconds. The explosion will also disrupt the surrounding space, and I can pre-set spatial coordinates in advance.

“Once the bombs go off, we’ll use the confusion to board the warship, break out of the explosion radius, and instantly teleport to a distant coordinate. Even a True God will need to search for us with divine sense. Meanwhile, I’ll have Little Treasure create our false afterimages to divert him further.

“As long as we make it beyond the atmosphere… we’ll have our chance to escape.”
