Chapter 41: Save The Boys 2
"That’s enough."
Mo Ying suddenly stepped in, his expression darker than usual.
He didn’t come alone, though.
Behind him was Fuhan, and then behind Fuhan were a group of men, all wearing robes like those of constables.
"Arrest her!" Mo Ying said, his voice loud as the men behind him nodded and marched straight to Aunt Lu, taking hold of her as they dragged her away.
Surprised and shocked at the same time, Aunt Lu shouted, trying to remove herself from their tight grip, "Let me go! Who the hell do you think you are?! Do you know who I am? How dare you take me for no good reason... Mo Ying, you did this! Let me go!"
She shouted as the head constable said aloud, "You have been charged for kidnapping young children. According to the law of this empire, you are henceforth detained until your case is brought to the tribal embassy. Take her away!"
He instructed, and his men did just that. Though Aunt Lu kept on shouting, "Lin Xu, you think you can get rid of me... your children are still under me. If anything happens to me, then they will die... I don’t mind dying so far as I see you suffer. I would gladly do so."
Aunt Lu shouted, admitting the charges against her, and upon hearing that, Lin Xu staggered a little before walking towards Mo Ying, "W-we can’t arrest her... t-the boys are still in her captive, Mo Ying!"
Stroking her head slightly, Mo Ying’s rigid face finally had a faint smile. "Don’t worry about that... the boys are well taken care of... they are even making their way to you as we speak."
"R-really?" Lin Xu found it too good to be true as Mo Ying nodded, "Hmm... and as for you, Aunt Lu... you think you are very smart. Well, your stupid games end here... I’ll make sure you spend the rest of your life in prison, never to see light ever again."
"Take her away!" he instructed as the constables dragged her away while she kept on screaming and shouting along with her son.
"You better let me go! How dare you touch me! Just wait and see what Old Man Bai will do to both of you... you’ll regret laying your filthy hands on me!"
"Let us go, Lin Xu, let us go!" Lu Feng shouted along with his mother, but their screaming didn’t do them any good, and soon they were dragged away.
Quickly running to Mo Ying, Lin Xu asked, "Mo Ying, what is going on? H-how did you pull all this off, and where are the boys?!"
Just then, she heard the small voices of the people she had been yearning for all this while.
"Mama! Papa!" Mo Bao and Mo Yuen called out as they ran towards their mother, and behind them were some other constables.
"MO YUEN, MO BAO!" Lin Xu shouted in surprise as she ran towards them as well, and before they knew it, they all landed in each other’s arms as the boys hugged their mother as tight as they could.
Upon seeing her brothers, Mo Yiling, whose eyes were still swollen from crying all night, quickly ran towards them as Yan Mei couldn’t help but smile with watery eyes. She was so happy to see the boys safe and sound.
"M-my boys... ohh my boys, Mama is here, don’t worry... N-no one can hurt you anymore, you are alright now... y-you are home now!" she said in between sobs as she hugged the boys tight with tears falling down her eyes.
---
After sobbing and crying for over 20 minutes, the boys, out of exhaustion, finally fell asleep after Lin Xu had given them enough food.
She patted them slightly as Yan Mei and Yiling walked into the room. "Lin Xu, I’ll take care of them from here... You should go meet Mo Ying. He has been waiting outside, and it’s already so late."
Yan Mei suggested as Lin Xu nodded, "Hmm, then please pat Yiling to bed as well."
"Hmn, I will."
Nodding, Lin Xu then took one more look at her boys before turning around and making her way out.
Just as Yan Mei had said, Mo Ying was outside, just sitting down on the bench, staring at nothing.
Approaching him slowly, Lin Xu said softly, "Are you going to start explaining now?" She asked as Mo Ying smiled slightly.
"You are a very direct person, aren’t you? Come take a seat!" He patted the bench beside him as Lin Xu hesitated slightly before taking her seat.
"How were you able to get Aunt Lu arrested, and what about Chief Bai?"
"Don’t worry about him... trust me, he won’t be a threat any longer... we were able to buy enough time for Fuhan to follow and keep a close watch over Aunt Lu. Eventually, she revealed where the boys were, so we rescued them and informed the constables, and they came and arrested them... not that big of a deal!"
He said as he relaxed slightly on the table.
Lin Xu, on the other hand, wasn’t buying any of it. If solving these matters was that easy, then she would have done it without wasting so much time.
Chief Bai wasn’t someone ordinary that you could just get arrested. He was an important figure.
If he had the mind to kidnap her boys in the first place, then he totally wasn’t afraid of the constables and what they would do if he was caught. So how the heck did Mo Ying solve all this by just reporting?
Frowning, Lin Xu was ready to lash out at Mo Ying when she saw a slight cut on his hand.
Quickly taking hold of it, her annoyed expression turned into a concerned one.
"How did you injure yourself? Look at it, it’s all purple now." She shouted slightly as Mo Ying grinned mischievously.
"It’s just a slight crash. While trying to find the boys, Fuhan and I had to go past the forest... but why are you so concerned? One might think you are so much in love with me you can’t bear to see me hurt!"
He said as he raised his eyebrows. Seeing that, Lin Xu frowned immediately and pinched him slightly on the arm.
"Ah! Ouch, ouch, ouch... it hurts." He whined in pain.
"Stop saying nonsense for once! Hmph!" Standing up, she said, "Stay here... I’ll go get you an ointment!" she instructed as she stood up and made her way into the room.
Entering in, Yan Mei had already successfully put Yiling to bed as she smiled upon seeing Lin Xu. "Have you talked to Brother Mo? What did he say?"
She asked curiously as Lin Xu just sighed, "He just said some confusing words... don’t bother about it. We should just be happy that the boys are back safely!"
"Hmm... you are right, Lin Xu! Ah! I forgot to tell you... on my way here this morning, I found out that the poster about that wanted masked man has been taken down. I asked some villagers and market owners, and they all said the Song family seemed to have caught the man... that’s good, isn’t it?"
Yan Mei said, her words hitting something deep within Lin Xu.
"Yan Mei, could you go get me a cup of water?"
"W-water? S-sure... I’ll be right back!" she said as she turned around and left.
With her gone, Lin Xu then summoned Susu.
"Susu!"
[ Yes, Host! ]
Susu appeared immediately.
"I want to purchase a black cloth!"
[ Sure thing, Host! Presenting: Black Silk Cloth – Price (5 taels) ]
[ Purchasing – ( Yes ) ( No ) ]
Lin Xu tapped on the ’yes’ icon, and immediately the money was deducted and the cloth appeared in her arms.
Whatever Mo Ying was hiding, she was going to make sure he revealed everything tonight.
