Chapter 126: For A Baby??
Igma💙;
My knee keeps bouncing as I stare at Alana with worry, chewing away at my sanity. She’s been in and out of it.
Bram really did want to kill her. Her neck is broken, and she’s been asleep for so long, I haven’t been able to sleep.
What would have happened if I didn’t get there on time??
And Rhydian.
Fucking Rhydian! Bram has him wrapped around his crooked fingers, and he can not see that!
He stationed guards outside Bram’s room and ordered that no matter what, I was not to be let close to Bram.
The little shit is lucky. Very lucky. If I had my way, he’d be dead by now.
I wonder what Rhydian will say when I show him the poster with Bram’s real name.
My thoughts crumble to a stop when Alana’s eyes suddenly fly open with a gasp.
She tries to sit up, but whimpers at the pain in her neck, and I quickly rush over to her.
I sit beside her and hold her down.
"Don’t move. Your neck is... broken..." I inform, and I see fear flood her eyes as she stares at me.
"Broken?" She questions in horror, and I nod slowly.
"I arrived a bit too late... Bram was going to kill you." I explain, and something shifts in her eyes.
"Bram..." she mutters as her grip on my sleeves tightens and she stares at me with fear and hope colliding in her eyes.
"The poster... did you get it??" She questions, and I feel my heart flop into my stomach.
Is she talking about...
"The poster that had Bram’s real identity... please... please tell me you took it." She begs, and my stomach begins to twist.
"What do you mean?" I question in horror, and tears start escaping her eyes.
"Oh, no. No...no... no... We lost it. He took it. He must have taken it... Our proof is gone. We... we no longer have anything to tie him down..." She cries, and I try to swallow past my dry throat.
How can it be lost? What is she talking about?? I don’t understand.
"Alana, I’m finding it difficult to understand. How... how did we lose it?" I question, and she sniffles.
"I had it on me when Bram attacked me. I was going to show it to Alpha Rhydian after he finished his meal. But... but when Bram attacked me, the poster fell out of my hand. I... I tried to retrieve it before passing out, but I couldn’t. I... I hoped you would see it and pick it. If... if you didn’t take it then... then Bram..." She starts rambling, and with each word, my heart shatters harder.
I didn’t take it.
And when Rhydian came to tear me away from Bram, there was no paper or poster anywhere...
We truly lost... the only proof we had...
The only thing that would make my foolish cousin see the truth is... gone.
That fucking snake!! He probably picked it up during the fight!
"Alpha Igma... I’m... I’m so sorry. You... you trusted me with something so important and I failed..." Alana begins, and I quickly hold a finger to her lips.
"Stop it, Alana. You weren’t careless." I scold, and she blinks at me.
"We both had no idea the type of snake the boy is..." I add as I look away with my racing on how to expose Bram and save Rhydian from him.
"What... what do we do now?" She questions, and I swallow as I stare at her.
"I don’t know. I’ll... I’ll think of something..." I reply, and there’s silence.
"You, just focus on getting better," I add with a forced smile, and more tears cloud her eyes as she bites her lower lip.
"I’m sorry..." She cries, and I kiss my teeth before wiping her tears.
"Stop apologising, Alana. You did nothing wrong." I try to reassure her as I wipe her tears.
"I’ll bring that snake down. I promise." I add, and she sniffles as she stares at me in silence.
I smile at her as her big, brown eyes watch me.
I stroke her ear and hair, and she slowly relaxes under my touch.
"I’ll go tell the kitchen to make you something," I add as I take her hand in mine, and she doesn’t say a word.
"Just focus on getting better right now. Okay?" I beg as I press a gentle kiss on her knuckles.
She tries to nod but winces in pain. My heart aches to see her like this, and the sight causes bubbling anger to consume my mind.
I swear, if Rhydian was protecting Bram like some precious gem right now, I’d have driven a steel rod through the degenerate’s heart by now.
"We can’t let Bram keep playing Alpha Rhydian." She whispers, and silence settles in the room.
I nod and look away from her as a dangerous resolve forms in my mind.
"I know..." I reply, and she sniffles.
What I just thought of is a dangerous, if not reckless, move. But it’s my only option.
I have to talk to King Wilhelm about this. I must inform him of the chaos and deceit his son is being pulled into.
I may have no evidence, no proof... but I can’t sit on my hands and do nothing.
At this point, that tramp will manipulate my foolish cousin into impregnating him. I know that’s what Bram wants. I don’t know why, but whatever his reason, it can’t be good.
I must and will stop him. I won’t let him succeed, and to do that, I have to get King Wilhelm involved.
It might come back to bite me... but it’s worth the risk.
I don’t know Elián that much, but he’s far better than Bram. And besides... right now... anything else seems better than Bram.
I won’t give him a chance to officially join my family.
******
Koda;
"Ballinar’s men are still circling our borders, but so far, they haven’t made any moves to invade the village." Mother notes, and I take a moment to think.
"It doesn’t make any sense, though. The man we caught yesterday refused to say a word and killed himself the moment he was left alone. For Balinar to put up such measures to protect his intentions... That means whatever reason he has for being here is..." I begin, but stop, unable to complete the sentence.
My worry for Elián is constantly increasing. Why are Balinar’s men circling Elián like vultures? What do they want from him!?
"Something doesn’t feel right. I can’t tell what it is, but something just doesn’t feel..." Mother begins but is cut off the the curtain to the hut being flung aside, and Hilda running in startled.
"Queen Cassia, Alpha Koda... Master Elián is no longer in his hut!!" She exclaims, and I spring to my feet immediately in shock.
"What!?" I demand, and she gulps as she turns to me.
"He... he said he wanted apples, so I went to get them for him. But... but by the time I got back..." She starts explaining, and suddenly the curtain to the hut is flung aside again.
Rowan enters, and my eyes turn to him desperately.
I asked him to watch Elián, so what’s all this I’m hearing!?
"Alpha Koda, Master Elián is currently on his way to the Shanna’s hut." He informs, and I pause.
"He’s what!?" I demand, and Rowan nods.
"Yes, Alpha. I saw him with my own eyes. He’s currently walking over to the Shanna family’s hut." He replies, and my eyes dart over to my mother.
"Mom, didn’t you operate on Elián?" I question, and she raises a brow at me.
"You know I did." She replies, and I stare at her in silence.
"Then how is he walking!?" I demand, and she shrugs.
"How am I supposed to know? You should rather be asking why he’s going there." She replies, and that’s when he hits me.
The baby!
Did he seriously get out of his bed after an operation... just to see a baby!??
"If I were you, I’d get to him fast. If he rips open those stitches, it will be a struggle to restitch them, and he would be in more pain." Mother replies, and that is all I need to start my race.
What goes on on that head of his!? How could he take such a risk just to see someone else’s baby!?
Isn’t he in pain!??
My people bow to and stare at me in confusion as I bolt past them.
Ugh, I just might give him a spanking after I get my hands on him. He’s risking his life and almost gave me a heart attack.
For what??
A baby??
If he likes them that much, I’ll give him one. Heck, I’ll give tons of babies if only he doesn’t risk his life like this.
Soon enough, the Shanna’s hut appears in view, and my heart calms down a bit when Elián’s sweet scent wafts into my nostrils.
My reckless little omega.
He needs to be disciplined. He’s always acting before he thinks. How has he survived this long with survival instincts like that??
