Chapter 325: 324 Shalltear Bloodfallen_2

"""

"That’s the counter-intelligence magic, right?" Shalltear confirmed the ever-present magic and special abilities on her own body, and then affirmed, "Although it’s not as good as Lord Ainz’s aggressive barrier, the anti-intelligence magic on me has been triggered. It must have been set off by someone using intelligence magic, trying to pry into me, right?"

"I see," Sebastian nodded in understanding, and said, "Could it be the accomplices of these thieves?"

"Not sure," Shalltear smiled slightly, with a touch of pleasure, and said, "If that’s the case, then I need to take action right away, so as not to scare off the prey and spoil Lord Ainz’s plans, which would make me deserving of death."

As she spoke, Shalltear licked her un-bloodied nails, those well-trimmed nails that had just easily sliced the thieves’ bodies, turning them into the sorry state they were in now.

Clearly, Shalltear was enjoying herself.

Enjoying the taste of hunting humans.

Enjoying the act of killing.

"In that case, I will not disturb you," Sebastian bowed to Shalltear with an extremely proper bow, and said, "We will take our leave here to carry out Lord Ainz’s other orders."

"Is that okay?" Shalltear asked, saying, "Haven’t there been a number of unforeseen events tonight?"

Indeed there had.

Originally, it wasn’t the plan of the group to act so soon.

The orders they had received from the Supreme Sovereign were to find some humans in the vicinity of E-Rantel, humans who would not draw too much attention if they disappeared, and to capture those who knew how to use magic or martial arts, and bring them back to Nazarick.

And to adhere to their master’s insistence on "not drawing too much attention," the group devised an overly complicated and troublesome plan for their level of beings.

First, Soruyou Epsilon, a combat maid managed by Sebastian, pretended to be a wilful daughter of a wealthy family, together with Sebastian Tian, the equally disguised but actual butler. They checked into the highest-class inn in E-Rantel, Golden Shining Pavilion, and exhibited some eye-catching behavior to attract the attention of thieves targeting the wealthy.

Upon confirming the prey had taken the bait, Sebastian and Soruyou would lure them outside E-Rantel, handing them over to Shalltear and her two vampire brides for handling.

The person assigned to execute this mission was Shalltear, while Sebastian and Soruyou were just there to provide assistance, and would later leave to collect vital intelligence for their master elsewhere.

However, it was unexpected that Golden Shining Pavilion would suddenly encounter that accident, forcing Shalltear and Sebastian to act sooner than planned.

"There’s no helping it, Golden Shining Pavilion almost burned down, and it will be closed for repairs for a while. If we don’t act ahead of time, setting aside whether the thieves already hooked would flee, delaying Lord Ainz’s arrangements would be really bad,"

Sebastian explained to Shalltear with meticulous attitude.

"Although it is sooner than expected, it doesn’t matter, as long as nothing goes wrong on your end, we can take immediate action without a problem,"

Shalltear responded with a knowing smile.

"In that case, I wish you a smooth journey,"

Shalltear’s words made the corners of Sebastian’s mouth twitch slightly upward for just an instant, before he returned to his usual expression.

"You too, Shalltear," Sebastian looked straight at Shalltear and said, "since we are both carrying out tasks ordered by Lord Ainz, let’s both do our best."

"Of course," Shalltear laughed without hesitation and said, "after all, this is all for the Supreme Sovereign, for Nazarick."

"Exactly," Sebastian nodded, saying, "for the Supreme Sovereign, for Nazarick."

That was when Soruyou, the combat maid behind Sebastian, finally spoke.

"Then, Lady Shalltear, we will take our leave here, the rest is up to you."

Soruyou bowed to Shalltear.

"Rest assured,"

Shalltear saw off Sebastian and Soruyou with an amiable attitude.

Sebastian and Soruyou then left the scene, moving away from the mountain of corpses and sea of blood, walking toward a carriage drawn by four robust horses that was parked at the entrance of the forest.

Before long, the carriage started moving, and Sebastian and Soruyou departed, leaving Shalltear and the two vampire brides behind.

"Now, how shall we play next?"

Like finally being released from all restraints, Shalltear let loose a dark and evil aura in the night, her smile becoming even more unrestrained.

"Lord Ainz said we could turn the prey into slaves by draining them dry, as long as we just bring the people back, so why not drain them all completely?"

"There are no thieves here capable of using martial arts or magic. Do their accomplices have any?"

"Forget it, just catch someone and make them a slave first, then extract information about their base of operations, and we can go there and search slowly later."

With these thoughts in mind, Shalltear suddenly revealed an intoxicated expression.

"Ah, Ainz-sama, beautiful Ainz-sama, great Ainz-sama."

"I, Shalltear Bloodfallen, will definitely complete the task you have entrusted to me successfully."

"I am your most important servant, the most fitting to be by your side as your right and left hand."

"Please..."

The intoxicated Shalltear, raving thus, was interrupted next moment by a vampire bride at her side.

<><>"Mistress Shalltear, there is..."

Just as the vampire bride began to speak, ready to say her piece, her words never made it out.

"Bang!"

With a heavy thud, the beautiful vampire bride was struck by a terrifying force and flung into the adjoining forest.

The vampire bride, hurled away, snapped countless trees in her tumultuous flight, tree after tree falling, kicking up a vast trail of dust, a sight of extreme spectacle.

Shalltear, who had exerted such a fearsome power to send the vampire bride flying, merely withdrew her seemingly casually swung delicate hand and wore an irked expression.

"To interrupt my yearning for the glorious Supreme Sovereign, you deserve to die."

Upon hearing these words, the remaining vampire bride stood there, trembling with fear.

"Please, forgive my transgression..."

The flung vampire bride took some time before returning with a body covered in wounds, kneeling before Shalltear, a picture of earnest fear and anxiety.

"So? What is it you had to say that was so important you’d dare interrupt me?"

Shalltear inquired with unmistakable displeasure.

It was certain that if the words the vampire bride was about to say did not possess sufficient importance to warrant attention, the next blow that would fall upon her would be far worse than the one before.

The vampire bride, keenly aware of her mistress’s cruelty and ruthlessness, hesitantly spoke out.

"There is, there is someone coming."

These words made the somewhat absent-minded Shalltear, who hadn’t been paying much attention to her surroundings, frown prettily.

The next moment, Shalltear raised her head, gazing into the forest sky.

There, a figure descended, landing right in front of Shalltear.

"You..."

Shalltear showed a surprised expression.

For no other reason than.

The person who appeared before her, that face, that look—Shalltear felt as if she had seen it before.

She had indeed seen it.

And it was just a few days prior.

It was just that Shalltear seemed to have forgotten the man’s existence, his visage.

The reasons were twofold.

One was the sphere of blood floating above her head; though not very large, its side effects had already slightly impacted Shalltear’s judgment.

The other was even simpler: Shalltear simply found the man not worth remembering.

A mere human—this was Shalltear’s sole impression of Reiger, who had claimed to be an information broker and conducted a transaction with Ainz.

As a result, Shalltear made a misguided judgment.

"It doesn’t matter who it is; anyone who can use ’Flight’ magic has value to be captured."

The surprise on Shalltear’s face turned cruel.

"Well then, it’s time to feast."
