Chapter 622: 500 is really despicable! Outsider!
Altoria was still too presumptuous.
The Wind Clan moves fast but even at their quickest, traveling from Camelot in the central region to Salisbury in the south without spending a night on the road was nearly impossible.
The fierce battle between Reiger and Gawain had ended less than an hour ago; even if Aurora had left Camelot immediately after that and rushed to Salisbury, she couldn’t have arrived so quickly.
Thus, when Reiger and Altoria descended from the bell tower to the lord’s chamber, not only did they not meet Aurora, but they were also stopped by Aurora’s Attendant.
"This is Lady Aurora’s residence. Both of you stand right there and don’t take another step forward."
The one who spoke these stern and indifferent words was a female fairy with many guards, fluttering wings like a butterfly.
She had a face as neatly chiseled as a fine statue and dreamlike pink hair, appearing very much like a fairy, but the arrogance and indifference on her face shattered the ethereal aura, giving her an imposing and dominant impression.
"Miss Koral!"
Altoria seemed to know her and called out to her.
Koral indeed noticed Altoria but did not change her attitude.
"Ah, it’s you, the fairy of unknown origins." Koral said bitingly, "Weren’t you already on your way to Camelot with Lady Aurora? Why have you suddenly come back alone? And with that man of equally unclear origins?"
Koral then looked at Reiger with suspicion in her eyes.
"This... it’s a bit complicated..."
Altoria did not know how best to explain herself, and her words began to falter.
Seeing this, Koral’s gaze became even more alert.
"It seems you’ve done quite a few things you shouldn’t have out there." Koral coldly stated, "I’ve already told Lady Aurora, this grand cathedral is the sacred site of the Queen’s ascension, a special place where Her Majesty’s coronation was held two thousand years ago. This sacred place shouldn’t be welcoming some low-ranking fairies of unknown origins under the current circumstances in Salisbury."
"Now, you’ve even left Lady Aurora outside and come here with a suspicious man, intending to enter Lady Aurora’s room?"
"What exactly are your intentions? What do you plan to do here?"
At this point, Koral was almost showing outright hostility.
Clearly, she had long suspected Altoria of dubious behavior. Now, seeing Altoria return alone with an unfamiliar and suspicious man by her side, her vigilance almost instantly turned into hostility.
"You’ve misunderstood, Miss Koral!"
Altoria immediately tried to explain.
However, Koral did not give her the chance.
"Whether it’s a misunderstanding will be clear when Lady Aurora returns." Koral said unequivocally, "Until then, I must take you into custody."
This lord’s Attendant was outrageously authoritative, not even allowing Reiger and Altoria to leave but was ready to take them into custody directly.
"Guards, seize these two fairies of unidentified clans."
Upon Koral’s command, the guards behind her moved forward, long spears in hand, alertly advancing on Reiger and Altoria as they encircled them.
"No, can this be happening?"
Altoria, completely unprepared for events to turn this way, widened her eyes.
Reiger had not even uttered a word from the beginning. Seeing how quickly the situation escalated, his brows deeply furrowed.
"What’s the situation now?" Reiger had to turn to Altoria, his face full of confusion and asked, "Didn’t you say that after I was captured and taken to Camelot, you met the chieftain of the Wind Clan and stayed here at her invitation?"
How is it that after living here for nearly a month, not only have you failed to build a good relationship with these people, but they are also so hostile towards you?
Reiger’s gaze at Altoria conveyed just that meaning.
"...Although I’ve been here for quite a while, Miss Koral doesn’t trust me like Aurora does, always regarding me as a suspicious person."
Altoria looked distressed, unable to fully express her troubles.
It was an unavoidable situation.
As a fairy, Altoria’s appearance differed from those of the four native clans of Fairy Country, and she was not originally from the fairy lands of Britain but from Eden.
For her, seen through the eyes of those more suspicious, she was a person of obscure clan affiliation, mysterious origin, and very dubious behavior.
Even though Altoria repeatedly emphasized that she grew up in Tin Tagel, Tin Tagel had been destroyed, and even if it hadn’t been, it was just an obscure rural village—the kind of place from which a fairy, in the eyes of someone serving a lord like Koral, is likely nothing more than someone scheming to ingratiate herself with Aurora.
Therefore, even though Altoria received Aurora’s hospitality and lived in the grand cathedral for nearly a month, Koral still remained guarded and suspicious of her interactions with Aurora.
This was a classic case of the servant being more anxious than the master; although Aurora herself trusted Altoria, her servant Koral was considerably less pleased with the arrangement.
