Chapter 576: Body complains, but upright?_2
Just as Reiger was about to fly out of the Throne Hall and leave Camelot, a sudden heat surged on his back, and a sense of resistance arose within him.
At that moment, Reiger remembered what Morgan had said.
"You may move freely here, but you must not leave Camelot."
"This is the first ’condition’ that I propose to you."
As he recalled these words, Reiger also remembered one of the effects of the "Oath Stake" skill.
"Limited to one specific person, the exchange of power and conditions is possible...huh?"
Feeling the resistance deep inside him, Reiger somewhat understood what Morgan meant by ’conditions.’
"This is interesting."
Reiger muttered to himself, decisively abandoning the idea of leaving Camelot.
However, he still flew out of the Throne Hall and headed towards the urban district of Camelot.
This time, Reiger flew freely, smoothly bypassing Camelot’s royal palace and entering the city district of Camelot.
This place, unlike the resort destination of Salisbury, was not filled with a leisurely atmosphere but rather an iron-blooded one.
The buildings were taller than those in Salisbury, yet they were quite cold.
The streets were also more spacious and luxurious than those in Salisbury, yet they possessed a strict disciplined feel.
The residents appearing here were mostly upper-class fairies, extravagantly dressed and clearly wealthy, with magic power emanating from them filling the entire atmosphere of Camelot, signaling that even in terms of magic power and strength, these fairies were not only more powerful than those in Salisbury but were indeed in a completely different league.
"This is Camelot?"
Reiger’s eyes flickered slightly as he stared at the scene for a long while before turning around and flying back to the Jade Throne Hall.
By then, Morgan had already returned.
"How was it?"
The queen, sitting on the Jade Throne, looked supremely regal, yet somehow there was a hint of boastfulness in her voice as she spoke.
"Do you like my Camelot?"
Reiger did not answer this question.
He just felt the magic power filling Camelot, sensing its flow, then shifted his gaze towards the throne beneath Morgan.
In Reiger’s perception, the magic power filling not just Camelot but the entire Fairy Country of Britain seemed to be flowing towards this spot, pouring into that throne.
Thus, Reiger said,
"What a domineering way to rule."
Upon hearing this, Morgan fell silent.
After a while, the winter queen spoke with an unfathomable calm,
"It isn’t right to keep you confined to this Jade Throne Hall forever, so I’ve arranged a room for you."
Saying this, Morgan snapped her fingers, summoning a fairy.
"Your Majesty!"
It seemed to be a female fairy from the Wind Clan kneeling on the ground, respectfully calling out.
"Go.", Morgan, without sparing the fairy a glance, commanded, "Guide the prince to his room."
"Yes!" The fairy, hardly daring to breathe, replied, then approached Reiger and spoke respectfully again: "Please, Your Highness, follow me."
Reiger glanced at Morgan, saw she was not looking at him, then turned his head and left the Jade Throne Hall with the fairy.
What Reiger did not see was that after he turned his head and averted his gaze, Morgan started watching him, her eyes fixed on his back.
Only after Reiger’s figure had disappeared from the Jade Throne Hall, vanishing from Morgan’s sight, did she, as if answering a previous question, whisper quietly,
"Isn’t this the only way to govern the fairies of this country?"
Muttering such words, audible to no one else, Morgan looked towards the vast void.
"It’s close."
"It’s very close."
"Soon, whether it’s this Britain or the outside world, everything will belong to me."
"No, I should say, will belong to both you and me."
With such murmurings, Morgan closed her eyes on the throne, seeming to fall into a slumber.
With only the queen remaining, the Jade Throne Hall suddenly filled with a lingering sense of solitude, which did not dissipate for a long time.
...
The room Morgan had arranged for Reiger was not far from the Jade Throne Hall, it could even be said to be nearby.
According to Reiger’s observations, this room was probably the closest place in the royal palace to the Jade Throne Hall, with only the corridors and walls leading there being closer.
This room apparently had not been intended for habitation but for storing treasures, a treasure hall of sorts.
In it, Reiger discovered several items that were not properly tidied up, such as crystals under the bed, gems under a vase, and Gold Coins that had rolled into the carpet; albeit few, they were still present.
This allowed Reiger to easily imagine just how hectic it must have been for the palace fairies to have hurriedly and chaotically prepared this room, the closest one to the Jade Throne Hall.
"...Morgan must have issued some unreasonable command again, huh?"
Otherwise, these items wouldn’t have been scattered here, proving that the fairies had been rushed and flustered in setting up this space.
Casually picking up a gemstone, Reiger sat on an extravagantly luxurious bed, playing with the gem while he began to ponder.
"Given the current situation, it seems quite impossible to leave Camelot."
"At least, for this month, I will have to stay here."
