Knock, knock…
Outside, a series of knocks sounded.

Chen Jie followed her inside and paused for a moment when he saw Xing Tianci, but he didn't think much of it, assuming he was He Yufei's boyfriend.
"He Yufei, who is this?" Xing Tianci asked, sizing up Chen Jie. His face immediately turned grim.
"This is Doctor Chen, who is here to treat my mother. He's also my classmate, Chen Jie."
He Yufei introduced Chen Jie to Xing Tianci: "Chen Jie, this is my manager at the company, Xing Tianci."
Chen Jie nodded. Xing Tianci scoffed, "He Yufei, are you crazy? So many doctors haven't cured your mother's illness, and you think some gigolo can?"
Chen Jie looked at him, feeling a flicker of displeasure.
If he hadn't thought Xing Tianci might be He Yufei's boyfriend, he would have retorted without hesitation.

He Yufei turned to Chen Jie apologetically. "Chen Jie, ignore him. My mother is in the inner room. Please take a look."

Chen Jie was also slightly displeased. From He Yufei's reaction, he could tell that they were not in a relationship at all.
He then said to He Yufei, "Take me to see your mother."

The two immediately went into He Yufei's mother's bedroom. Xing Tianci followed them in.
