Bai Yi Shu Sheng

Chapter 109

Without turning his head, Mo Jin gazed at the center of the auction hall. After a moment, he spoke,

"This is the first time you've asked me for a favor since you've grown up. Honestly, I'm not quite used to it, especially considering your father..."

"Enough," Mo Tao interrupted him before he could finish. "Consider it a debt owed. I'll repay you later."

With that, Mo Tao pushed open the door and walked out.

Only then did Mo Jin turn his head, giving a fleeting glance before letting out a meaningful sigh.

When Qin Xuan saw Mo Tao's "ok" message on his phone, he finally let out a relieved breath.

Not long ago, Qin Xuan had sent Mo Tao a message, stating that the sarira was very important to him and asking if he had a way to acquire it.

He hadn't expected Mo Tao to enlist Mo Jin's help to bid for it.

Qin Xuan knew of Mo Jin before, though back then he was merely an insignificant figure in the Mo family.

After several years, it seemed Mo Jin now held considerable power within the Mo family.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have spoken so boastfully during the auction, especially when facing Chu Shaofan.

From his senses, Qin Xuan couldn't discern the nature of the sarira, but he was certain that the spiritual energy it contained was denser than that of the original piece he had previously bid on.

Moreover, Qin Xuan's spiritual sense couldn't penetrate its mystery, suggesting it might be a rare treasure.

Qin Xuan wasn't particularly interested in the next few items; they were all ordinary objects.

Wang Yuyan, however, managed to bid for a piece of antique calligraphy and painting, costing over thirty million. This was likely what her grandfather had instructed her to get.

Out of the nine auction items, Chu Shaofan secured five.

After the auction concluded, everyone began to depart.

Qin Xuan received a message from Mo Jin, advising him to use the back exit. Unbeknownst to them, more than a dozen black BMWs, all bearing the Chu family's insignia, had parked outside the main entrance.

These were undoubtedly men summoned by Chu Shaofan. Qin Xuan glanced out of a second-floor window, observing fifty to sixty burly men in black suits surrounding the entrance.

Qin Xuan himself wouldn't fear them, but with Wang Yuyan in tow, exiting through the main gate would be difficult.

"Let's go through the back," Qin Xuan said, pulling Wang Yuyan's hand as he turned.

At this moment, Wang Yuyan was still looking bewildered,

"Why are we going through the back?"

Qin Xuan, too preoccupied to explain, simply held her hand and quickly made his way towards the rear exit.

Wang Yuyan, initially puzzled, suddenly felt her face flush as Qin Xuan tightly grasped her hand, her mind wandering to unspoken thoughts.

After circling around half the hotel, they finally reached the back door, where Mo Tao was already waiting.

Upon seeing Qin Xuan and Wang Yuyan arrive, Mo Tao stepped forward, handing a small box to Qin Xuan. He then added,

"The sarira is in this box. Your original piece was too large to carry easily; I'll have someone deliver it to you. You should return to Jiangbei immediately to avoid your identity being..."

"I understand," Qin Xuan replied, taking the box and expressing his gratitude.

"I'll send you the money once I'm back in Jiangbei."

Mo Tao offered a wry smile.

"While this is a considerable sum, it's still within my means. We haven't seen each other in years; consider this my wedding gift to you. Alright, no more talking, you should leave now."

Wang Yuyan, standing beside them, listened in stunned silence.

Was the box in his hand the two-hundred-million-dollar sarira from the auction?

Hadn't Mo Jin just bid for it? How did it end up with him? And he'd just given it to Qin Xuan!

What was going on? Wang Yuyan's confusion deepened with every thought.

Qin Xuan had intended to say more, but the words caught in his throat. He nodded to Mo Tao in thanks, then took Wang Yuyan's hand and walked towards the exit.
