"…I'm not taking you to a hotel room, just back to my room to sit for a while. The effect is pretty much the same as sitting in the lobby," I explained.
"Sit, for what?" Ni Tai Mei asked coyly.
"Whatever we want to do," I said helplessly, wondering why girls nowadays were so forward. Did two people of different sexes in a room have to mean something?
The elevator reached the seventh floor. The corridor was deserted. The distance between doors on this floor was considerable, suggesting large room sizes. Room 707 was just ahead, next to the room of the North Sea Whale God. I activated my Chi Sensing technique and indeed, her dark aura was in the room, seemingly standing by the window, gazing outwards. Her presence was calm, showing no emotional fluctuation.
As a side note, I also checked Ni Tai Mei's demonic energy. I hadn't held out much hope for her, being just a minor demon, and the result was as expected. She was only at the initial stage of blue energy. By Shakespeare's naming convention, she could barely be classified as a "Great Demon," the lowest rank. The eight demons from the Nine Immortals Cave would have utterly crushed her.
"Mr. Wu, what's wrong?" Ni Tai Mei asked softly, seeing me lost in thought.
"Oh, nothing," I replied, placing the room card on the sensor of door 707. *Buzz*, the door opened.
Entering the room, I gasped. It was indeed huge. A hotel room was meant for sleeping, but this entrance was not. There was no bed; instead, there was a living room of about fifty square meters. On each side, there was a suite. The left side had a master bedroom with an attached en-suite bathroom. The right side had a smaller single room with a small bathroom, but no bathtub, only a shower.
It was a typical horizontal layout with two bedrooms and one living room, likely around 100 square meters. I wasn't sure if this was a "presidential suite"; probably not. From what I'd seen on TV, people could get lost walking around in a presidential suite.
I entered the master bedroom. The bed was much larger than the one I slept in last night, easily accommodating three or four people.
Ni Tai Mei followed me in. Perhaps finding the room a little stuffy, she opened the window. Seeing the window, I remembered I hadn't told Ya Nan that I'd changed rooms and wondered if she was back yet. I stood by the window, activated my Chi Sensing technique, and searched for Ya Nan in the sky. Coincidentally, she had just come within my Chi Sensing range, about two kilometers away. As she approached the hotel, I leaned out and waved. Her eagle eyes were sharp; she saw me and flew down.
I moved aside from the window. Ya Nan folded her wings and flew in directly through the window, landing with a roll and transforming into human form.
"Oh my goodness, an eagle!" Ni Tai Mei was quite startled and hid in the living room, only peeking out at Ya Nan.
Perhaps it was a bloodline suppression, but chickens were naturally afraid of eagles.
Ya Nan didn't know anyone else was in my room and was also startled. She pulled a blanket around herself and pulled a pheasant feather from her mouth, likely a remnant from her breakfast.
I introduced them to each other. Ya Nan naturally didn't know who Ni Tai Mei was, but the little pheasant knew Ya Nan and stammered praises, calling her famous and such.
Ya Nan was always indifferent to strangers. She merely nodded and said she was going to take a shower.
"What are you showering for so early in the morning… Oh, I see. Go ahead," I said, noticing the bloodstains on Ya Nan's back, though they were mostly dry. Of course, it wasn't her blood; it was likely from prey.
Ya Nan glanced at the large bathtub, perhaps thinking it would take too long to fill, and went into the smaller bathroom.
Fearing that Ya Nan's arrival might have disturbed the Whale God next door, I activated my Chi Sensing technique again, wanting to see what she was doing.
I was startled!
A massive mass of dark energy filled my vision, almost engulfing my entire Chi Sensing field!
If the room layout on this floor was consistent, she was in the small bedroom. Judging by the position, she was sitting on a chair by the head of the bed, less than two meters away from me through a wall. I instinctively held my breath and took two steps back, then cautiously swallowed. The last time I felt such immense pressure was when Rong Yue suddenly appeared behind me. However, Rong Yue's grape-purple aura, while her eyes were similar to the Whale God's, was far less potent. The Whale God's aura was deeper, thicker, and towered above her shoulders like two dark, solid towers…
