"Why did you stop?" the Little King of Hell urged. It was a slight uphill slope, and it was quite strenuous for her to push alone.
Just as I was about to deactivate my phase energy technique and continue driving, I suddenly noticed one of the purple energies being "thrown off" the battlefield. Only three purple energies remained in the fray. The one that was thrown out stopped where it was, motionless. Less than two seconds later, the second purple energy retreated from the battle. The remaining Yin Official was no match for Longyue one-on-one. In a flash, the last purple energy also stopped moving. Only Longyue's grape-purple aura remained, but she didn't cross the bridge. Instead, she walked towards the very first purple energy that had been thrown out!
Not good! She's going for the kill!
From their auras, that was Xie Bi'an! I had to stop Longyue!
But the distance was too great, and she wouldn't hear me if I shouted! What to do!
A flash of inspiration struck me. I pulled out my phone and immediately sent a WeChat video call to Granny Meng. There was only one bar of signal here; I didn't know if Granny Meng could receive it.
She received it, it connected! I saw Granny Meng's frightened face. All along, Granny Meng had been hiding at the tea stall, watching the fight, not daring to step forward.
"No time to explain," I said anxiously. "You repeat after me, and shout at that guy!"
"Okay, okay!"
"Longyue! Stop!" I shouted.
"Longyue! Stop!"
"Don't kill them!"
"Don't kill them!"
"Wu Chengfeng told you to answer the phone!"
"Wu Chengfeng told you to answer the phone!"
The effect was immediate. Longyue's grape-purple aura stopped moving towards Xie Bi'an and she turned back towards the Bridge of Helplessness. Granny Meng, startled, threw her phone onto the table and ran to the bridge herself.
"What are you doing?" the Little King of Hell asked, confused.
"They're almost dead from that ginseng spirit!" I said. "I have to go back and save them!"
"No, you're more important! You absolutely cannot fall into the hands of 'Shanhai'!"
"Shanhai? What's that?" I asked.
"An ancient great demon. It wants to overthrow human rule on Blue Star. If it succeeds, the human world and the underworld will be annihilated!" the Little King of Hell said sternly.
"...I don't care about Shanhai, but I can't let Xie Bi'an and the other two die because of me!" With that, I clutched my phone, jumped off the train, and ran back the way I came along the tracks. As I ran, I looked at the camera. The footage was hazy yellow. Before long, a face appeared. This face scared me so much that I almost dropped my phone!
It was indeed Longyue, but her face was covered in strange, thin blue lines. Her eyes had turned deep red, her pupils extremely small. Her nostrils flared, revealing sharp fangs. She looked like some unknown beast, panting heavily. Perhaps she was still excited from the fight.
Slowly, her face returned to normal. She said to me angrily, "Why are you running away!"
"I'm running towards you! Don't fight anymore!" I shouted.
"Really?" Longyue's gaze shifted from Granny Meng's phone, and she looked into the distance.
She probably couldn't see, it was too hazy.
"Please wait a moment, I'll be back in three minutes." I held my phone, adopted a normal running posture for a thousand meters, adjusted my breathing. Three and a half minutes later, I finally saw the Bridge of Helplessness and Granny Meng, who was squatting by the bridge railing, cowering. Longyue, however, stood with her hands behind her back on the bridge, looking down at the boundless underworld.
I slowed down and stopped at the head of the bridge. Longyue looked at me disdainfully, "Do you think these few broken reeds can save you?"
"Are you Shanhai's subordinate?" I asked directly.
Longyue paused slightly, did not answer, and gestured for me to cross the bridge.
I patted Granny Meng's shoulder, "It's okay, she won't hurt you."
Because Granny Meng, a mere yellow-aura ghost, was too weak to be worth Longyue's effort.
I crossed the bridge and followed Longyue back to this side. Granny Meng's phone was still on the tea stall table, with my image inside.
Longyue walked directly towards the direction of the invisible door. I hesitated for a moment, then activated my phase energy technique and located the three Yin Official commanders. I ran over to check on their injuries. Longyue did not stop me.
They were all severely injured, some spitting blood, others with fractured bones, but none were dead. Perhaps Longyue had held back.
"I'm sorry for causing you trouble!" I apologized.
Xie Bi'an swallowed a mouthful of blood, waved her hand, and shook her head. She wanted to speak but couldn't utter a word, and coughed up another mouthful of blood.
"Don't speak, I know what you want to say," I said, though I didn't actually know, I just wanted to comfort her.
"Take care, you three! I'm leaving!"
Wu Zhao and Ma Jiaojiao wanted to stop me, but they couldn't even stand up.
I sighed, located the direction of Longyue's aura, and jogged to catch up. Like a student who had made a mistake, I quietly followed behind my parent, heading home together...
