Chapter 159 Luan Zang Gang Zi

I was filled with confusion. I had already left Jinling at top speed and returned to the northeast, so how could there still be abnormalities?

In the latter half of the night, the yin energy was too heavy. I held my breath and concentrated twice before I could successfully activate it. This activation, however, nearly scared me to death!

On both sides of the airport expressway, a large crowd of "qi" had gathered. They were all independent "one strand of qi" spirits, numbering over a thousand. My Qi-seeing technique was not yet profound enough, so I could only see the blurred figures beneath the qi. They were mostly people dressed in burial clothes, men, women, old, and young.

Fortunately, they were all stationary and did not follow our vehicle. About half a minute later, the taxi left that area, and it became much quieter.

"Master, what was the name of that place just now?" I asked the taxi driver.

"What place?" the driver blinked in surprise.

"Just now..." I opened the phone's navigation, but besides the expressway we were on, there were no other geographical markers. "Was it a mass grave?"

"Ah," the driver seemed to suddenly remember something. "Yes, yes, if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten. That place just now used to be called 'Heishan Baozi.' It was quite a major town. When the old marshal fought with other bandits, he suffered a setback there. Fortunately, the people of that fort supported the old marshal and helped him drive away the bandits, killing many of them. Later, the bandits returned for revenge and massacred all the people in the fort. Overnight, it became a mass grave. For many years, people dared not go there, let alone live nearby. It wasn't until later that the airport was built, and the airport expressway had to pass through that mass grave. They were all unmarked graves. The construction team, not believing in superstition, flattened over a thousand graves. Young man, your accent isn't local, did you hear about this story?"

Damn it, where would I have heard about it? I saw it!

I glanced back at Yaoyao. After she nodded slightly, she closed her eyes and ignored me.

It shouldn't have been an accident, just a story.

Lu Qianxun had traveled from south to north and was tired. She collapsed in Yaoyao's arms and fell asleep. I was also lulled into a daze by the monotonous night scenery outside the car window and unconsciously fell asleep.

When I woke up, the taxi had already arrived at the small town. Zhao Nana's Corolla was waiting at the entrance of the town's central school. They ferried us back to "Xijiang Yue" in the scenic area.

I was uneasy about Lu Qianxun having a room by herself, but I was also hesitant to share a room with her. So, I let her sleep with Yaoyao and opened another room for myself before I could finally sleep soundly.

It was purely to catch up on sleep. I slept until 9:30 in the morning. A light rain was drizzling outside. I was still quite full from the tuna I had last night, so I didn't rush downstairs for breakfast. After a simple wash, I made a cup of coffee and stood on the balcony watching the rain, enjoying the rare moment of peace.

For a full half hour, no one disturbed me. I couldn't help but feel puzzled. The entire Xijiang Yue was quiet. Where had everyone gone?

I activated my Qi-seeing technique and saw that they were all still sleeping in. I was the first one awake.

I remembered that when I returned at dawn, Zhao Nana had mentioned that everyone had just finished their livestreams and had gone to sleep.

It seemed these "fairies" had found their own haven.

The qi signatures of Yaoyao and Lu Qianxun next door were stable, their positions overlapping. They must have been sleeping in each other's arms. I had the room card for that room and wanted to see such a beautiful scene, but I restrained myself. They already called me "Dad Chengfeng," so barging in would be impolite.

I went downstairs and found Zhao Nana. She said breakfast was ready and could be served at any time. Just then, Chen Lu and Zheng Bingbing came downstairs, groggy from sleep. Since the "fairies" didn't eat human breakfast much, it was mostly for show. I took them to the main building to have a hot meal.

It had been raining autumn rain here for two consecutive days, and the weather was very cold. I even felt it was colder than winter in Jinling. As I walked across the small square with an umbrella, I shivered from the cold.

There weren't many tourists. After breakfast, I went to the adjacent shopping area but found no seasonal clothing. So, I suggested going to the provincial capital to buy some autumn and winter clothing.

"Coincidentally, I need to go back too," Chen Lu said. "My cousin's son is getting married at noon today, and I have to attend the wedding. Why don't you accompany me to the wedding first, and then I'll take you shopping in the afternoon!"
