Chapter 423 My Own People

I had no reason to doubt Yaoyao's words, even though the expanse of the sea before us remained clear, with no sign of any enemy.

I immediately applied the brakes, but a yacht's deceleration is entirely different from that of a car on land. It's not that the brakes were useless, but due to its immense inertia and minimal friction with the water, the braking effect was not very noticeable (it seemed the reverse propellers were more effective). The speed dropped gradually in single digits.

In a moment of urgency, Yaoyao snatched the steering wheel and sharply turned it half a circle to the left. The yacht traced an elegant arc across the sea. In that instant, I felt like I was piloting a fighter jet, the lateral G-force maxing out, leaving my head spinning!

"Where? The enemy?" once the yacht stabilized, I asked.

Yaoyao pointed to the sea area behind and to our right, "See for yourself."

Of course, I wasn't just using my eyes. I unbuckled my seatbelt, handed the steering wheel to Chu Qi, and went to the porthole. I activated my spirit sense, and saw dozens of dense auras rising from the sea several hundred meters away, predominantly green, interspersed with some yellow and azure.

All of them were demonic energy!

"What is all this, so many of them!" I exclaimed in surprise.

"I've never seen such creatures," Yaoyao shook her head, glancing at the Whale God. In her past life, she hadn't seen the sea.

Although the Whale God was powerful, she lacked spirit sense and had no idea what we were talking about.

I understood Yaoyao's meaning and said to the Whale God, "We've found dozens of sea demons. How about you go down and take a look?"

"Alright," Diana said nothing, doing as she was told. Whatever it was, it was a task she could handle with ease.

The Whale God shed her clothes and leaped into the sea. After a while, a small black island emerged from the distant water. This was the first time I had seen her true form in daylight – sleek, shiny, large, and adorable.

The yacht finally came to a stop. The few of us gathered on the deck and looked over. My spirit sense showed that initially, the demons didn't fear the Whale God, likely mistaking her for an ordinary humpback whale. They surrounded her, perhaps intending to teach this oblivious whale a lesson. But as they approached, and I don't know what method the Whale God used, the sea demons retreated and continued swimming westward.

I pointed west, "Where is that leading?"

Chu Qi said, "Bohai Bay. They look like a pod of dolphins, but dolphins rarely appear in Bohai Bay... Could they be trying to land?"

I immediately thought of news about foreign countries training dolphin spies to attack enemy nations. Coming from the east, could it be the Cangjing Group, refusing to accept defeat, launching another demon attack?

It wasn't an impossible scenario. Judging by the timing and route, this deduction seemed reasonable, especially since there were already many mountain and sea demons in that area.

The Whale God didn't linger, and soon returned. She leaped more than ten meters out of the sea, transforming into human form in the air, executing an aerial maneuver I didn't quite grasp, and flew back to the deck. Water dripped from her body. Chu Qi immediately went inside and found a towel, or perhaps a pillowcase. After drying herself and dressing, Diana said, "It was a pod of dolphins."

"Don't dolphins usually jump when they swim?" I asked with a smile. "That's how they're shown in nature documentaries."

"The submarines on TV also float on the surface," Diana chuckled. "Dolphins spend most of their time underwater, but you usually can't capture their movements on camera."

That made sense. Compared to nature, humanity, though powerful, had not yet reached the point of controlling all things.

"Where did they come from? And where were they going?" I asked again.

The Whale God shook her head, "I don't know. They fled without much interaction, but there's no need to worry."

"Why?" Yaoyao was still a little uneasy.

"Because they are Bai Ze demons."
