Chapter 624 Great Skill Appears Clumsy

The wolf should be a native demon of the mountain and sea tribes. Those two lionesses without manes are definitely not from Yanxia, likely reinforcements from another continent for the mountain and sea demon tribe's main forces.

A wolf demon spotted me, then glanced up at Bai Qingcheng on the rock. It bared its teeth and transformed back into its human form. It was a beautiful woman with an alluring figure, but her expression was ferocious. She roared at me, "Who did this!"

Demon tribes have keen senses of smell. She must have smelled the scent of a sacrificed kin.

I honestly pointed above the rock, "Her."

The wolf demon woman looked at the rock. "Who are you?"

Bai Qingcheng ignored her, not even deigning to glance at her. Her gaze remained fixed on the distance. The mist had slightly dissipated, and from Bai Qingcheng's position, she was above the lingering fog, likely able to see the condition of the surrounding "chessboard."

"You don't need to know who we are. I'll only advise you once," I extended my index finger, pointing at the wolf demon's chest. My ring wasn't ready, but at ten meters, aiming wasn't crucial. "Retreat while you still can, and your life may be spared. Face death with valor, and you'll be buried here."

"Bah! Relying on trash like you?" The wolf demon snarled and lunged at me.

"Wait!" I stopped her, as the energy sphere was still forming and not yet large enough. "Do you know me?"

"Heh, the reincarnation of Bai Ze, just a figurehead!" the wolf demon woman scoffed.

She must be a high-ranking demon within the mountain and sea tribes, having seen my photo. I hadn't disguised myself for this outing, as my first stop was the underworld.

I gave a wry smile and shook my head. "You've all been fooled by our psychological warfare division, haven't you? You really think I'm just a figurehead?"

"Enough nonsense! Avenge my sister's life!" The wolf demon woman reverted to her demon form and pounced.

The energy sphere was large enough. I didn't dare let her get too close, fearing I might miss. As she leaped into the air, intending to use gravity to her advantage and expose her underbelly, I fired. It hit the wolf demon squarely in the lower abdomen.

In mid-air, the wolf demon stumbled. Her body contorted violently, and she crashed to the ground about two meters in front of me, foaming at the mouth and convulsing. She reverted to her human form, clutching her stomach (perhaps she couldn't do so in wolf form?), yelling curses about my use of concealed weapons, calling me despicable and vile.

I shrugged, spreading my hands to show I hadn't used any hidden projectiles. Then, I drew the dagger-pistol from my belt and patiently explained, "This is my weapon. I hadn't even made a move, and you collapsed. You're too weak."

Infuriated, the wolf demon spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted. Her hands slowly moved away from her stomach. I saw an egg-sized bruise on her abdomen, right at the dantian. She must have been severely injured. Actually, I had missed my intended target. I was aiming for her chest, intending to critically wound her lungs and make breathing difficult, incapacitating her. Even if I won, she was a powerful blue-energy demon; I hadn't expected to defeat her outright, but I hadn't anticipated the energy sphere's immense power.

Seeing their comrade defeated in their first engagement, and crippled by me, while the expert on the rocks hadn't even moved, the other three demons began to retreat, as if preparing to flee. I didn't give them a chance to report back. Pointing my dagger at the head of a large green lion, I barked, "Don't run, you!"

I then secretly pulled the trigger. *Pfft.* The weapon had a built-in silencer; firing it sounded like a fart.

The green lion was hit, but clearly, the stopping power of such small-caliber rounds was less than the energy sphere. It merely shook its head. The bullet was lodged in its forehead, leaving a black dot. It didn't even bleed, testament to the hardness of its demon form's bones. Just then, Bai Qingcheng moved. I saw a flash of white light, and she landed behind the three beasts.

The three beasts reacted swiftly, immediately shifting their formation to surround Bai Qingcheng.

No one was paying attention to me anymore. I began to gather another energy sphere, preparing for a sneak attack. But before I could form even a small egg-sized one, the fight on the other side was already over. As far as I could tell, Bai Qingcheng had only used two moves.

The first move was a sweeping leg technique. She spun around low, and though she didn't sweep any of the demons, all twelve legs of the three beasts were broken. The severed digits flew outwards, as if struck by a massive steel rail at high speed!
