"I'll transport more for you then," I said. "Just like that batch of g98, I'll find some outdated antiques from our Yang Jian's Jun Huo Ku that have been discarded and send them to you. Those would be great weapons too!"
The power of artillery was naturally incomparable to that of rifles. For a time, artillery was even called the "God of War."
"It was a hassle to transport so many guns last time. Each cannon weighs thousands of pounds, how can we transport them?" Little Yama King asked.
The girl, overhearing my conversation with Little Yama King, chimed in softly, "Do you have to transport them? Don't you have the technology and craftsmanship to make cannons here? We could improve them, couldn't we?"
"You can modify them?" I asked.
"We learned the history of artillery in our freshman year. Different eras, different technologies. Early artillery technology is quite achievable and doesn't require a particularly strong industrial base."
I nodded. That solved it completely. She was undoubtedly a rare talent. At the prime of her youth, sending her to Little Yama King to help quell the rebellion might be a stroke of destiny.
Little Yama King also thought it was worth a try. She asked the girl for her disembarking station and said she'd send someone to pick her up.
"Do a good job," I said, patting the girl's shoulder. "If you do well, she might promote you to be the artillery commander of Yin Jian, and you'll directly surpass your grandfather."
"Who is she?" the girl asked.
"She's the King of Hell's daughter, usually addressed as Your Highness Little Yama King. I'm quite familiar with her, so I call her Shu Yao," I said.
The girl looked at me with immediate admiration. "I originally thought you were just... I didn't expect you to have such extensive connections in Yin Jian!"
"That's why I can build a platform for you, so you can continue to combine learning with practice and shine here," I chuckled.
At this moment, the two latecomers arrived. The girl's spirits were clearly different from before. Full of anticipation, she followed the little train as it disappeared into the mist.
I returned to Yang Jian and reunited with Yao Yao and the others. I told them about the matter. Yao Yao understood the power of artillery. During the Ming-Jin Wars, artillery was already a mainstay on the battlefield, especially in sieges and defenses. The technological tree in Yin Jian was similar to Yao Yao's era, so the artillery would likely be the same. Yao Yao was excited to hear this and said that if she could go to Yin Jian, she'd like to meet this future female artillery commander.
"Too bad Yin Jian won't take you," I said with a laugh. Yao Yao's fate had been altered by her master, Li Chengfeng. She couldn't die and thus couldn't go to Yin Jian. It was like giving her an immortal, death-defying golden plaque, similar to a demon's.
After dinner in the provincial capital, we, along with our new member Bai Majia, disguised ourselves collectively again and drove back to the Lvshun base.
Sha Wuji would remain in Shengjing for two days before returning to guard Shanhaiguan.
That night, Shen Xingyue called me. She said their intelligence department in Jinling had received information that Long Yue and the Miao King had met. This indicated that Long Yue had not discovered my presence in the Northeast and was convinced that the group who killed Bai Majia was Sha Wuji and his men.
In Long Yue's eyes, Sha Wuji and the "Shanhaiguan" organization were a motley crew, posing no threat whatsoever.
Nothing noteworthy happened that night. The next morning, I was again dragged out of bed by Chu Qi to train at the secret port. Practicing alongside me were the Eight Demons and sixteen dolphins. The Sea Emperor had a decent foundation in martial arts. After a while, Chu Qi had the Sea Emperor and me spar on shore. To my surprise, I could hold my own against her, though I wasn't sure if she was holding back.
We trained until eight in the morning, then had breakfast. The new member, Bai Majia, also cooked, and her culinary skills were no less than Chen Ke's. I even wondered if everyone in the Mohe organization knew how to cook.
After breakfast, taking advantage of the good weather, I decided to teach Bingbing the art of observing qi. Without observing qi, moving around in Yin Jian was a significant disadvantage.
Bingbing, like me, had a pure Yin constitution, so she learned relatively quickly. Of course, it wasn't me teaching her, but Yao Yao. I had only learned for a few days and had merely grasped the basics.
I also took the opportunity to learn from Yao Yao myself, striving for further improvement.
We learned until noon, when the sunlight was just right. Bingbing had mastered the basic principles of observing qi and said she could see the colors of my and Yao Yao's auras. As a casual test, I asked Bingbing, "What color am I?"
