Chapter 684 Old Acquaintance

"Be careful," I warned, "the enemy might infiltrate from the roof."

"Don't worry, I've got a rappelling rope. If anything happens, I'll run, haha," Bingbing said. She was no good at fighting, but the best at escaping.

With a formidable enemy approaching, I couldn't laugh. Just how powerful was the Chi You Group to warrant such a large-scale preparation from the bloodthirsty Bai Qingcheng?

I hadn't seen the main force of Chi You, but I had seen the main force of Mohe. With our current lineup, we could completely annihilate Mohe's main force. At most, Mo Yue might escape, but her dozen or so human experts, including the blue-energy great demon Xeliosha, would be no match for us.

However, I still didn't know if Mohe had even more powerful and numerous demons under their command.

The arrow was nocked and ready to fly. We had to fight.

Seven minutes later, Bingbing called again, reporting that the enemy was much faster than anticipated and had reached the station entrance. However, they hadn't entered. Their convoy had stopped, and everyone had disembarked, seemingly intending to proceed to the station area on foot.

It was highly likely that the Sabian action team on the perimeter had attracted Mohe's attention. This was good; it would allow our comrades in the action team to serve as a shield, allowing the Chi You organization to believe our forces were all on the outside, thus emboldening them to infiltrate the station.

Now, I could only pray that Sima Xingkong wouldn't be among them. If she were, our ambush would be exposed, as her Qi-reading technique was even more potent than our own Qi-sensing ability.

"Bingbing, take a look. Do you sense Sima Xingkong's aura?" I asked.

"Sima Xingkong… I didn't mark her aura. Didn't you and Daji go last time? I wasn't there."

Was that so? With so many members in the girl group, I was starting to forget.

"There's no need," Yaoyao said. "She can't be the only one who knows Qi-reading."

"So you're saying the enemy will definitely be able to see our ambush positions?" I asked.

"Not necessarily. Give it a try," Yaoyao said with a smile.

The surveillance room was in a corner on the third floor. Directly in front was a window that overlooked most of the waiting hall. The window wouldn't block the Qi-sensing technique. I went to the window and employed my ability. I discovered that many of the hidden troops' auras were obscured. Coupled with the naked eye, I quickly found a clue – the rolling shutters of the shops could effectively block Qi-sensing.

Metal had a shielding effect on Qi-sensing, and different metals had different shielding capabilities. The box containing the demon core was made of a metal with extremely strong isolating properties. Even with direct observation at close range, the Qi-sensing vision couldn't penetrate the box.

After this battle, I might suggest to Wu Qian that we research this technology. Using this technique, we could create shoulder pads and helmets. When worn, they would effectively conceal these three areas, as the head and shoulders are where human auras are emitted upwards. By blocking these three positions with shielding metal, one's aura would likely become invisible, or at least weakened, making them less detectable.

For demons with two auras, it would be simpler, no helmet needed, just shoulder pads, and they could be concealed under clothing.

As I was deep in thought, Yaoyao reminded me, "There's movement on the monitor."

I quickly returned to the large screen. On monitor number three, two figures appeared, walking through the parking lot towards the west entrance of the station waiting hall.

"They've come around so quickly," I said. This was the opposite direction from which they had arrived.

However, it looked like they intended to infiltrate from the first floor, avoiding the roof. There were too many people on the roof.

There was still no movement on the other surveillance screens. I tried to zoom in on that monitor. As the two individuals approached the entrance of the waiting hall's west gate, a beam of light shone directly on them. Perhaps my manipulation of the camera and focusing had caused a disturbance. One of them looked back at the monitor and then, with a casual flick of their wrist, threw something. It might have been a projectile or an energy wave, and after a flash of white light, the monitor went completely black.

But in that brief half-second, I recognized the person, even though she was wearing a large N95 mask!

"It's Mo Yue," I said, my voice even trembling.

"Well, of course it is. Why are you so excited?" Yaoyao pouted.
