"Mu Qi, you're bullying me," Yun Shunnian complained tearfully to Mu Qi.
"I..." Mu Qi's lips, which had slightly parted, closed again.
Yun Shunnian was genuinely a little scared.
She didn't fear death; what she feared more was dying without understanding why, dying powerlessly.
"What did I do wrong?" Yun Shunnian continued to question Mu Qi.
"Nothing, you did nothing wrong. It's all my fault." Mu Qi came to his senses, immediately got out of bed, and knelt before Yun Shunnian with a look of piety.
Yun Shunnian glanced at Mu Qi in this state just once before quickly looking away. She couldn't bear to see him like this.
"Where did you go wrong?" Yun Shunnian's cries gradually subsided, and her emotions began to calm.
"I shouldn't have treated you like this." Mu Qi's eyes were filled with regret and pain.
"It's not because of that..." Yun Shunnian mumbled softly.
*How can I make you feel better, my dear?* Mu Qi enfolded Yun Shunnian's small hand in his large one. Yun Shunnian struggled a few times but couldn't break free from Mu Qi's grip, so she let him have his way.
Yun Shunnian remained silent; she hadn't figured things out either.
"Hit me, okay? Hit me until you feel better."
"I can't hurt you." Yun Shunnian had initially thought she had quite a bit of strength, but after the feeling of being unable to resist just now, she truly had lost confidence in her own strength.
Hearing this, Mu Qi produced a knife from somewhere and handed it to Yun Shunnian.
Mu Qi guided Yun Shunnian's hand, which held the knife, to his own neck. "Do whatever you want."
"Mu Qi!" Yun Shunnian's eyes widened, overwhelmed by immense terror.
"You can do anything you want." Mu Qi stared at Yun Shunnian with eyes that seemed possessed, as if begging.
Yun Shunnian shouted sharply, "Mu Qi, hurry up and move the knife away!"
Although the knife was in Yun Shunnian's hand, her hand was stiff, afraid to move.
"Why did you throw it away?" Did she not want to forgive him anymore?
Mu Qi's thoughts spiraled uncontrollably towards the worst-case scenario.
Why?
Yun Shunnian stared intently at the blade, feeling as if she were going mad. What kind of question was this? The blade was already touching Mu Qi's flesh!
"Mu Qi, I beg you, please put the knife down. We can talk about anything else," just don't play with the knife.
"You don't want to forgive me anymore." Mu Qi murmured, his statement carrying an almost imperceptible hint of inquiry.
"I forgive you, I forgive you. Hurry and put the knife down." The moment the knife was connected to Mu Qi, Yun Shunnian's nerves felt like they were being stimulated.
"You forgive me?" Mu Qi stared blankly at Yun Shunnian, thinking for a moment that he had misheard.
"Yes, Mu Qi, hurry and throw the knife away, and I'll forgive you." Yun Shunnian's expression was anxious, but her hand, held by Mu Qi, dared not move.
"Throw the knife away, and you'll forgive me?" Confusion appeared in Mu Qi's eyes, as if Yun Shunnian had said something utterly illogical.
"Yes, Mu Qi, that's right, hurry and throw the knife away." If Yun Shunnian dared to move, she would have been nodding vigorously.
However, at this moment, Mu Qi held Yun Shunnian's hand gripping the knife to his neck. This felt as if Yun Shunnian had been afflicted with the 'Sunflower Point Hand' technique.
Mu Qi fell silent for a moment, then tentatively lowered Yun Shunnian's hand. He then retrieved the knife from her grasp and tossed it onto the floor.
With a clang, the dagger hit the ground. Yun Shunnian's suspended heart finally relaxed, and she began to breathe heavily.
A slight breeze made the cold sweat on her forehead cause her to shiver.
Mu Qi watched her tensely, praying that Yun Shunnian would utter the phrase, "The Eastern European upheaval, the Cold War has ended."
But Yun Shunnian's vision was swimming, and she could barely see Mu Qi's face.
Mu Qi quickly noticed Yun Shunnian's unusual state and immediately called Diao Guan.
Twenty minutes later, Yun Shunnian had an IV drip.
Mu Qi stared intently at Diao Guan.
Diao Guan silently offered his condolences to his own terrified self and immediately understood Mu Qi's unspoken request.
"You were startled. You'll be fine after this bag of saline," Diao Guan said. Unlike his usual jovial self, he slung his medical bag over his shoulder and headed for the door.
To make a long story short, given his understanding of Mu Qi, if he stayed any longer, his own survival would be a highly uncertain metaphysical question.
However, he hadn't anticipated that his ability to leave would also be such an uncertain metaphysical question.
Before Diao Guan could even take a full step, Mu Qi yanked him back abruptly.
"Is there something else?" Diao Guan felt a chill run down the back of his neck.
"Stay put until she wakes up."
Diao Guan instantly translated this to: If Yun Shunnian doesn't wake up, you'll be buried with her.
Diao Guan nodded, feeling as if two distinct cracks had emanated from his cervical vertebrae.
Mu Qi released Diao Guan's collar and walked over to Yun Shunnian's side.
Mu Qi's gaze settled on Yun Shunnian, as if weaving a net that intricately ensnared her.
A quarter of an hour later, Diao Guan, tired of standing, pulled up a chair hesitantly and sat on the floor with his medical bag, abandoning all pretense of decorum.
Mu Qi, however, remained in the same spot, his gaze never leaving Yun Shunnian. He showed no signs of fatigue; instead, he seemed to be getting more immersed.
"She hasn't woken up yet," Mu Qi murmured. To Diao Guan, it sounded like a death knell.
"The saline hasn't finished dripping. She will wake up once she's rested enough," Diao Guan quickly assured him.
Mu Qi, however, continued to purse his lips, his expression showing no signs of relaxation.
Another fifteen minutes passed. The saline finished dripping, but Yun Shunnian still hadn't woken up.
Diao Guan felt as though the air had become thin and wanted to open a window, but... he dared not move.
His temper...
But when faced with Mu Qi, he truly dared not move...
The moon rose and set.
A faint light from the blazing sun fell on Mu Qi's pale face, making him appear ethereally beautiful.
However, Diao Guan, who was meticulous about his sleep schedule, with his eyes resembling two dark panda eyes, had no inclination to appreciate this breathtaking moment.
Diao Guan could no longer bear it. He suddenly felt that death wasn't that terrifying; rather, living required more courage.

While Diao Guan was in a near-death state, Yun Shunnian finally let out a soft hum, her eyelashes fluttering slightly.
