Chapter 439 The Stickiness

"I'll go call Diao Guan."

As Yun Shunnian finished speaking, Mu Qi immediately got up.

However, Yun Shunnian's hand, which was holding Mu Qi's, did not let go.

"Mu Qi, do you love me?" Yun Shunnian stood up as well, placing the hand holding Mu Qi on his shoulder, her head resting on his upper arm.

"Niannian, let me call Diao Guan first, and then we can talk." Mu Qi tried to pull Yun Shunnian's hand away.

Yun Shunnian wrapped her other arm around Mu Qi's waist. "Mu Qi, as long as you say you love me, I won't hurt anymore."

Mu Qi froze, not moving.

"I love you." Mu Qi didn't make Yun Shunnian wait too long. He leaned into the crook of her neck, his voice low, as if in willing surrender.

"Do you love me?" Yun Shunnian asked again.

Mu Qi responded patiently.

Yun Shunnian placed Mu Qi's hand on her chest again. "Then I won't hurt anymore."

She was crying again.

Mu Qi felt the dampness on his clothes, rubbing his index finger and thumb together, his brows furrowed.

"Niannian, did you have a nightmare?"

It wasn't a dream.

Yun Shunnian shook her head, silently saying so in her heart.

"Niannian, what's wrong?" Mu Qi stroked Yun Shunnian's head.

Yun Shunnian shook her head again.

"Niannian, go to sleep." Mu Qi just wanted Yun Shunnian to calm down as quickly as possible.

She sobbed on his shoulder, and he could do nothing.

The next morning, Mu Qi woke up feeling hot.

Yun Shunnian had clung to Mu Qi tightly all night. Fortunately, Mu Qi had no intention of pulling away, which allowed Yun Shunnian to sleep relatively soundly.

It was Mu Qi who suffered.

"Niannian, wake up. Let's wash up and have breakfast."

As Mu Qi spoke, Yun Shunnian raised her hand to cover his lips and snuggled deeper into his neck.

Seeing Yun Shunnian's reaction, Mu Qi breathed a sigh of relief.

Mu Qi removed Yun Shunnian's hand from his lips, then picked her up and carried her to the washroom.

"Niannian, open your mouth." Mu Qi first applied toothpaste to Yun Shunnian's electric toothbrush and then held her chin.

"Mmm."

Yun Shunnian opened her eyes to glance, then quickly closed them again.

Half an hour later, Mu Qi carried Yun Shunnian downstairs.

As for why he was carrying her:

Firstly, Mu Qi felt Yun Shunnian was still very weak.

Secondly, Mu Qi wanted Yun Shunnian to get some fresh air, so he brought her downstairs first to let her acclimatize.

Yun Shunnian, nestled in Mu Qi's arms, had a simpler thought.

As long as she could stick close to Mu Qi, she was satisfied, especially in such an intimate embrace.

"Can't I eat anything else?"

In the downstairs dining room, Yun Shunnian looked at the millet and pumpkin porridge being brought to her lips, a hint of resistance in her crescent eyes.

"You just woke up, you need to eat something light. You can eat other things in a few days."

Mu Qi said, bringing the porridge closer to Yun Shunnian's lips again.

"Oh."

As Mu Qi spoke, the hint of resistance in Yun Shunnian's eyes disappeared.

Aunt Ning, who had been waiting beside them, watched Yun Shunnian obediently drink the porridge and secretly felt fortunate that the young lady had not reverted to her previous self, yelling at the young master, after waking up.

"Mu Qi, what happened to that cruise ship driver?"

After breakfast, Yun Shunnian wrapped her arms around the back of Mu Qi's neck, asking as she observed his expression.

What Yun Shunnian was actually asking about, by mentioning the cruise ship driver, was to test Mu Qi's attitude towards her having tied him up and taken him to that deserted island.

"He was brought back with us."

Mu Qi's expression was calm and unwavering, his tone extremely subdued.

Yun Shunnian uncertainly wondered if Mu Qi wasn't angry.

Was there a high chance she could tie him up again?

"What's wrong?" Mu Qi saw Yun Shunnian lower her head after asking the question, assuming she was dissatisfied with the outcome.

"Nothing." Yun Shunnian shook her head, then buried herself in Mu Qi's neck again, secretly kissing the back of his neck.

Mu Qi's hand on Yun Shunnian's waist tightened abruptly. Yun Shunnian gasped and then dared not move.

Yun Shunnian had been unconscious for two weeks. During this time, some medical staff had entered Qi Yuan and were on guard outside the room Mu Qi had specially modified for Yun Shunnian.

Even now that Yun Shunnian was awake, Mu Qi had not immediately dismissed them, fearing he might have overlooked something.

Thus, the caregivers, unfamiliar with the Mu family's rules, couldn't help but take out their phones as they witnessed this aesthetically pleasing scene.

Yun Shunnian was momentarily blinded by a phone whose flash had been forgotten, so she turned her head towards the group of caregivers and instinctively pressed Mu Qi's forehead against her collarbone.

The caregivers were stunned, then quickly took pictures of Yun Shunnian.

Seeing this, Aunt Ning quickly stepped forward to handle the situation. "Excuse me, please delete the photos. Otherwise, we will send each of you a lawyer's letter."

"Please move to the side courtyard."

"On what grounds? We only took photos, we didn't post them. And you want to send us lawyer's letters? Is it worth it?"

These nurses were top performers in their field. They had never expected Aunt Ning, a mere servant, to be so impolite to them.

Normally, Yun Shunnian would have gone to argue with them if she had seen this, but at present, she had no urge to get off Mu Qi at all.

Aunt Ning was not one to back down. Seeing that they wouldn't listen to reason, she immediately called the security downstairs.

As several tall, burly men entered, those young nurses could only follow them to the side courtyard.

If only Mu Qi wore a mask when he was out in public.

Yun Shunnian sighed heavily, looking at Mu Qi's perfect profile.

"Aunt Ning won't let the photos get out."

Mu Qi, who had been paying attention to Yun Shunnian, naturally assumed her sigh was because her picture had been taken with him.

"Mu Qi, aren't we already public?"

Although there had been no formal announcement, ever since Yun Shunnian's rebirth, her comings and goings from Mu Qi's company had been without discretion, so people inside and outside the circle were bound to know.

"Mu Qi, you really don't want the photos to get out?"

Yun Shunnian continued to question, but quickly regretted it.

What if Mu Qi really didn't want them to?

"Forget it, don't say anything more. I don't want to hear it." Without waiting for Mu Qi's response, Yun Shunnian quickly continued.
