Chapter 81 The Consequences of Provoking You

Song Xi had booked a moving company online for 8 PM.

However, because it was a walk-up building, there would be an extra charge if the movers had to carry the luggage.

She figured she didn't have much, so she rolled up her sleeves and decided to do it herself!

After much huffing and puffing, she finally managed to move everything downstairs. Before she could even catch her breath, she heard movement ahead.

Four or five men in construction clothes were approaching aggressively.

The man and woman at the front looked familiar.

Song Xi took a closer look and her expression instantly turned serious.

The man was unshaven, wearing a sleeveless undershirt, and had a fierce look on his face. "What, you can't even call out to people anymore!"

Song Xi frowned. "Uncle, Aunt."

With her husband present, Qian Xiaoyu felt emboldened. "Qiangzi, she was very rude at the hospital last time! You're her uncle, talk to her properly. This child, as soon as she enters the big city, she doesn't even recognize her family anymore!"

Song Qiang had no patience and didn't want to waste words with Song Xi. He extended his hand and asked, "Where's the money!"

Song Xi knew instantly that this scene wasn't a coincidence and that someone must have tipped them off!

She looked up and sure enough, Yi Xiaoling was opening her window, openly filming a video, looking gleeful.

"Hubby, look quickly, I told you she wouldn't have a smooth day!"

"I'm talking to you, why are you looking up at the sky!"

Song Lei directly laid hands on her, pushing Song Xi.

"Hurry up, dawdling like your dead father! If my sister hadn't married your cowardly father, how could she have gotten into a car accident!"

The mention of her parents changed Song Xi's expression.

Song Lei continued to drone on. "You've always had a glum face since you were little. What, are we lacking food or clothes for you? Now that you've gotten into university and made something of yourself, you want to cut ties with the old Song family? Dream on! Hurry up and give us the money, don't force my hand!"

Still the same vulgar and scolding manner!

Song Xi trembled all over, remembering being beaten by him when she was a child.

She clenched her fists silently. "I don't have money—"

As soon as she finished speaking, a slap landed on her face.

With a "crack," Song Xi stumbled and fell onto the packed boxes. Coincidentally, there were fragile pots and bowls inside.

A series of shattering sounds ensued.

The box fell, and its contents were broken.

Song Xi braced herself on the exposed fragments, her hand bleeding profusely, instantly turning red.

From upstairs, Yi Xiaoling zoomed in her camera and exclaimed, "Hubby, she's bleeding!"

But Song Xi seemed used to it, not even flinching.

Song Lei, on the other hand, grew impatient. He skillfully unbuckled his belt, wrapped it around his right hand, and said, "Your wings have grown strong, you dare talk back to me! Fine, let's see how tough your mouth can be!"

Just as the belt was about to swing down, Song Xi, with lightning speed, grabbed a plate from the ground and threw it.

Although she missed, it startled Song Lei.

"You little bastard, you dare throw something at me!"

Song Xi quickly stood up, blood dripping from her fingertips onto the ground.

Her eyes were cold. "Just self-defense, doesn't Uncle know that?"

Even without much education, Song Lei understood she was mocking his illiteracy.

He instantly flew into a rage, veins bulging. "Truly a bastard born without a father! You think you're so great after two days of school, I'll beat you to death today!"

Song Xi turned and ran.

Upstairs, Yi Xiaoling was too excited to film, and Zhang Qi, after waiting a few seconds for no response, simply made a video call.

"Quick! Point the camera at Song Xi!"

Song Xi hadn't run far when Qian Xiaoyu started ordering those men to smash her belongings.

Everything had been neatly packed. She had painstakingly carried it down from the fourth floor, thinking she was about to start a new life, only to have it so ruthlessly destroyed.

Her luggage was kicked around, her clothes torn and scattered everywhere.

A green dinosaur fell out of a box.

Song Lei stepped on it.

It was Yang Yang's favorite toy!

Song Xi rushed over without a second thought. Song Lei pushed her backhand, and she almost fell to the ground.

He kept stomping on the dinosaur with his foot until white cotton stuffing exploded out.

Song Xi could no longer bear it and cried out, "If you keep doing this, I'll call the police!"

"Call the police?" Song Lei kicked the battered doll away, sneering, "If you have the guts, then do it!"

"Hello, police station—"

Song Lei hadn't expected her to actually dare to call the police. His eyes flashed with fierceness.

At the same moment, a tall, sturdy figure approached. The moment Song Lei moved to strike, his wrist was forcefully seized.

Then there was a "crack," the sound of a dislocated arm.

"Ah—!"

Song Lei screamed in pain, falling to his knees, his face turning pale.

Song Xi's entire body stiffened. She wanted to turn around, but her shoulder was restrained.

A man's cold, fierce voice descended, arrogant and overbearing.

"Watch closely, and see what happens to those who move against you."
