Cang Ming

Chapter 39 Acting Cute

Song Xi lay in bed for two days, during which her fever subsided.

She seemed to have had a very long dream, and although she wasn't feeling well, she was slowly getting better.

The moment she opened her eyes, Song Xi felt a sense of loss.

Sister Wang was overjoyed to see her awake and quickly asked if she wanted to eat anything.

Song Xi shook her head; she had no appetite right now.

Sister Wang was a kind person. Song Xi vaguely felt someone taking care of her while she was unconscious, so she wasn't too surprised to see a stranger in the villa after waking up.

Sister Wang explained that the mister had hired her a few days ago, which coincided with Song Xi's return from the hospital.

Song Xi was puzzled. Lou Yu Ming had never liked hiring people to take care of things; before, the cleaning of the villa was handled by Yao Yi Fan contacting a housekeeping company for regular cleaning. Why would he suddenly decide to hire a nanny?

Sister Wang smiled and said, "Of course, it's to take care of Miss Song."

Me?

Song Xi's expression froze. When she realized, she shyly curved her lips.

"What is this?"

She raised her arm. A pearl bracelet was on her fair wrist, she didn't know when it had been put there.

The bracelet clearly looked expensive. It was inlaid with a green gemstone in the center, delicate and vintage, matching her temperament perfectly.

Sister Wang said, "The mister probably gave it to you while you were sleeping."

Song Xi's heart fluttered. Really? When did he become so romantic?

He hired someone to take care of her and gave her a gift. Song Xi's heart was stirred, feeling as though something was about to burst forth.

When one's mood is good, their appetite naturally increases.

"Sister Wang, I want to have some porridge."

Sister Wang was so happy she couldn't stop smiling, "Yes, yes, yes! I'll make it for you right away!"

Song Xi followed Sister Wang downstairs. She had been lying down for so many days; she should walk around properly, or her limbs would atrophy.

Unfortunately, Lou Yu Ming was not in the villa. Sister Wang said he had gone out early in the morning.

Song Xi felt a bit disappointed that the first person she saw after waking up wasn't him.

Sister Wang's cooking was good. The simple white porridge had a fragrant aroma, stimulating Song Xi's remaining appetite.

However, her right hand was in a cast, and she couldn't exert much strength with her left hand. A simple bowl of white porridge was difficult to eat.

Sister Wang wanted to help her, but Song Xi stubbornly insisted, "I can do it."

As it turned out, she couldn't.

Just then, the main door slowly opened.

The man stood tall and elegant, his gaze sweeping gently forward. Seeing a slender figure sitting at the dining table, his eyes lit up, and he quickly walked over.

Sister Wang watched anxiously from the side. Each time she managed to pick up the spoon and was about to bring it to her mouth, it would fall back into the bowl with a "clatter."

Oh, what a shame!

Sister Wang was about to turn to the kitchen to get her another bowl when she saw Lou Yu Ming standing behind Song Xi at some point.

When did the mister get here!?

Lou Yu Ming clasped his hands behind his back casually, watching Song Xi's every move, his eyes filled with a hint of a smile.

After the nth failed attempt, Song Xi completely gave up. Just as she was about to ask Sister Wang for help, a deep, magnetic voice suddenly sounded in her ear.

"What are you doing?"

Song Xi jolted, nearly falling off her chair.

Fortunately, Lou Yu Ming was quick and steady, supporting her waist.

"Am I that scary?"

"When did you get back!"

Lou Yu Ming pulled over a chair and sat down, "While you were locked in a battle of wits with this bowl of porridge."

Song Xi blushed, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.

"Sneaking peeks from behind isn't a good habit!"

Lou Yu Ming raised an eyebrow, feeling that her tone was like she was being petulant.

Song Xi felt utterly embarrassed and buried her head on the dining table.

"Sister Wang, clear this up and get me another bowl."

Song Xi slowly raised her head, "I still want to drink it."

Lou Yu Ming took off his jacket, casually draped it over the chair, and slowly rolled up his sleeves, revealing his firm forearms. "What's the point of drinking now that you're like this?"

Song Xi was speechless, her tone a little pitiful, "Then you eat it... I'll go upstairs to rest."

Lou Yu Ming hooked his long leg and turned her around, chair and all, "Where are you going?"

Song Xi stood up, her voice laced with grievance, "Are you expecting me to watch you eat! You!"

Lou Yu Ming knew she had misunderstood. He didn't explain, but instead looked at her leisurely, "What about me?"

Song Xi bit her lip, unable to find a suitable word for a long time.

"Sit down."

Her pretty face fell, and she reluctantly obeyed.

Lou Yu Ming deliberately teased her, "Blow on it for me later."

Song Xi almost broke the bracelet.

After the porridge was served, Lou Yu Ming slowly scooped a spoonful and then brought it to her lips.

Song Xi became increasingly annoyed. She glared at him, then took a deep breath.

"Think carefully." As if knowing what she was about to do, he warned her softly.

Song Xi instantly deflated like a leaky ball and perfunctorily blew on it twice.

"Blow a few more times."

Song Xi impatiently blew several more times, "Is it okay now!"

"Open your mouth."

She froze for a moment, staring at him blankly.

Lou Yu Ming repeated, "Open your mouth."

In the end, Song Xi hadn't even realized how the bowl of porridge had entered her stomach, but she felt it was the sweetest porridge she had ever eaten!

"What's wrong with your mouth?" She finally noticed the wound at the corner of his lips.

Lou Yu Ming put the last mouthful into her mouth, his movements not as gentle as the previous times, "A dog bit me."
