Chapter 17 Learning His Lesson

Lou Yuming's eyes sharpened, his gaze falling on the faintly lit doorway.

"Little... uncle... I was wrong... *gurgle gurgle*..."

Zhang Qi's struggling voice echoed in the air.

Lou Yuming spoke slowly, his tone indifferent, "So you know you were wrong now?"

"Little..." His voice grew weaker.

Lou Yuming raised an eyebrow, and Yao Yifan released him.

Zhang Qi fell to the ground in disarray. His face was pale, his lips purple, and he curled into a ball as if he had lost consciousness.

Lou Yuming walked over, looking down at him, then he raised a foot and stepped on his finger.

"I thought you would have improved over the years, but I didn't expect you to be so impulsive! How dare you injure someone so carelessly before the matter is investigated! I think you've got the guts of a bear! Do you want me to remind you what happened to this hand in the past?"

Zhang Qi's expression was terrified. He instantly scrambled up and knelt before Lou Yuming, trembling all over. "Uncle, I was wrong! Grandma is not well now, and she would be heartbroken if something happened to me! Please forgive me this once for her sake. I promise I will never be impulsive again!"

Lou Yuming kicked him away. "Learning to use the elderly as a shield, Zhang Qi, you've really grown up!"

"I... I didn't!"

Lou Yuming's voice was as cold as ice. "From today onwards, you are confined for a month. You are not allowed out without my command! Get out!"

"Thank you, Uncle! Thank you, Uncle!"

Zhang Qi scrambled away quickly, not even daring to ask how Song Xi would be dealt with.

In the hospital room, Song Xi was so frightened she was beside herself. Just as she was about to get up from the floor, she heard the door being kicked open with a bang.

"How long do you plan to eavesdrop?"

The man's eyes were deep, and the fierce aura emanating from him made it impossible to move.

Song Xi swallowed nervously, not daring to speak.

"What are you doing sitting on the floor? Get up."

But Song Xi couldn't get up now. Her body was weak, and she had no strength.

Lou Yuming hadn't intended to bother with her, but his gaze fell on the glaring finger marks on her neck, and he couldn't bear it. He walked over.

As his fingers touched her arm, she trembled all over. "No..."

Lou Yuming's eyes darkened. He picked her up by the waist as if it were nothing, his voice indifferent, "If you don't want to die, don't move."

This statement worked. Song Xi's body tensed, and she didn't dare to breathe, only relaxing completely after Lou Yuming put her back on the bed.

It was no wonder she was so surprised, because Song Xi had never seen this side of Lou Yuming before. Even when he was angry in the past, she could handle it.

But this time, it made her feel a chill run down her spine, more terrifying than when Zhang Qi had choked her.

He dared to be so ruthless to his own nephew, so how much more merciless would he be to an outsider like her, who meant nothing to him?

What should she do?

Seeing her fearful expression, Lou Yuming curled his thin lips. "What are you thinking about?"

Song Xi jumped.

Lou Yuming scoffed, walked over, and lightly tilted her chin. "You're usually so fierce in front of me, and now you know how to behave?"

"No, I don't." She smiled fakely.

Lou Yuming released her. "Since you saw it, is there anything else you want to say?"

Song Xi shook her head. "No! You've already punished him like this, what else would I dare to say!"

"Is that really all?"

"Yes!"

Song Xi wasn't foolish. No matter how wrong Zhang Qi was, he was still his nephew. The fact that Lou Yuming had gone this far was already showing him a lot of consideration. If she continued to press the issue, it would be truly ungrateful.

Lou Yuming said nothing, seemingly satisfied with her answer.

Song Xi glanced at him and asked tentatively in a low voice, "...Where is Shen Heping?"
