Chapter 250: HAVE SOME DECENCY, WILL YOU?

The next day, Aristia woke up a bit late.

The children beside her were still asleep.

She sat up and stretched, a small yawn escaping her lips.

Adeline opened the door and entered.

"Good morning, princess." She pulled open the curtains.

"Good morning, Linny." Aristia greeted.

She paused and looked at Adeline suspiciously. "How did you know I was awake?"

She had always wondered this question. How did Adeline always come in just as she woke up?

"I check every five minutes."

"..." Adeline’s answer left her feeling speechless.

"I see..." She said. "Oh no, I’m late for training." She muttered when her eyes landed on the bright morning.

"No need to worry, princess." Adeline said, coming to help her down the bed. "Sir Lancelot said he could wait."

Aristia paused. "He said that?"

[That guy that’s always strict about being on time? Hm. Seems like he’s finally falling for me. Wait. That sounds weird when I put it that way. I meant that he’s getting a soft spot for me.]

"Okay. Help me get ready then, Linny." She said even though she didn’t need to ask.

"My pleasure, princess."

By the time Adeline was done dressing her, Lauren was sitting up on the bed and running her eyes.

Her eyes widened when she saw Aristia.

"Where are you going, Tia?"

"I’m training with Captain Lancelot." Aristia replied.

"Oh. Then I’m going with you." She had already climbed down the bed halfway through her words.

Her movement woke the remaining two.

Minutes later, the four of them were walking down the corridor.

"Um, Linny. I forgot to ask... where has sir Hugh been waiting?" Aristia asked.

"Oh. He’s with his highness." Adeline replied.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the training grounds.

Aristia was surprised.

[When Linny said sir Hugh’s with Papa, I thought he meant they’re having tea. I didn’t expect them to be...]

Wilson and Captain Hugh were sword fighting at this moment.

[But seriously, having tea in the training grounds? I didn’t realize how ridiculous that thought was.] Aristia almost facepalmed at herself.

"Wow! Papa’s so cool." Alaric said with wide, excited eyes. It wasn’t everyday he saw his father with a sword.

Aristia nodded truthfully.

Her eyes landed on someone else.

[Oh. I didn’t know mama was here.] She thought in surprise.

Catherine was sitting at the bench in the training ground watching with awe.

Her eyes seemed to drink in every movement she made. They never left him.

Wilson would occasionally make eye contact with her and smile with a deep look in his eyes before turning back to the captain.

Aristia looked away. [How did what was supposed to be just a sword fight turn into an opportunity for him to impress his wife?]

After a while, the sparring match ended. Wilson won.

The other knights would have been excited to see the very own Grand Duke Wilson spar with Hugh, but unfortunately for them, they weren’t even aware.

Wilson put down his sword and walked over to Catherine. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand, looking her straight in the eyes. "How did I do?"

Catherine looked away, a small blush coating her cheeks. "Quite alright."

"Quite alright?" Wilson raised his brows. Then he leaned down towards her ear and whispered with a thoughtful look on his face. "I did quite alright with the sword, but what do you think about the bedroom?"

Catherine’s eyes widened and her head whipped around.

She only relaxed when she saw that Captain Hugh was not paying attention to them and was just putting down his sword. He wouldn’t be able to hear them from his position, even with his enhanced hearing.

She looked back at him and this time, spoke in his ear in a whisper. "Hmm... it’s quite alright."

"Oh?" Wilson leaned back. They were now looking in each other’s eyes. "Then I’ll have to put in more effort to make you change your opinion."

His words made Catherine speechless.

The both of them were left staring at each other, and the surroundings began to become heated.

"Ahem!" A fake, loud cough made the couple look away from each other, breaking the heart shaped bubbles flying between them.

They looked to the side to see Hugh coming towards them with a straight expression that someone was able to show his irritation.

"I don’t mean to interrupt, but I believe the children are present?" He asked.

That was his polite way of saying, ’Have some decency, will you?’

Only then did Wilson and Catherine look to the other side only to see four children staring at them with their big eyes wide open.

Catherine’s red face quickly cleared and she cleared her throat and put on an air of mature elegance.

[Um, mama. It’s already too late for that. Even though these kids didn’t hear their confusion, they saw her face turn red like an overripe tomato. Plus, I heard every word.]

"Good morning, Mama. Good morning, Papa. And good morning, sir Hugh." Aristia greeted.

Wilson responded with a straight face, secretly wondering whether the distance between themselves and Aristia was far enough for her not to hear their conversation.

Looking at her clueless face, he concluded that she hadn’t. They had been whispering. There was no way she would have heard it.

Captain Hugh turned to Aristia. "I hope you had a good night rest."

As he said this, his gaze landed on Lauren.

He was aware of what had occured in the palace the previous night.

"Mm." Aristia and Lauren nodded.

"Good. Because it’s time for the training."

When he arrived at the Grand Duke’s mansion and found out that Aristia was asleep, he had decided to wait.

’I don’t want to go hard on her considering she might have been shaken and scared from the incident yesterday, but looking at her... She doesn’t look affected at all.’ Hugh thought, looking at Aristia’s carefree face as she stretched her body.

’Maybe I was thinking too much. What did I expect?’
