Chapter 435: Ch-435: Phoenix Spirit

As soon as Wang Ming's words left his mouth, three items appeared before the girls' eyes—but the most eye-catching was the blue fruit in Wang Ming's hand.

The fruit was shaped like a phoenix, and a chilling aura seeped from it, visible even to the naked eye. Bai Lingxi stared intently at it, swallowing hard as a thread of drool nearly escaped her lips. Her bloodline was reacting violently, filling her with an overwhelming urge to snatch the fruit from Wang Ming's hand and devour it on the spot.

"Hey, Wang Ming, what the hell is that?" Luo Li asked with a frown. Even from a distance, she could feel the icy chill emanating from the fruit, and frost was forming on the ground around it. Her curiosity grew even more when she noticed the normally calm Bai Lingxi's intense reaction. She knew anything that could make Bai Lingxi lose composure had to be incredibly precious.

"Ice Phoenix Fruit," Wang Ming said casually. "If you consume it, your cultivation will directly soar to the Pure Core Realm."

The girls' eyes widened in disbelief, especially Bai Lingxi's—her breathing quickened uncontrollably.

"P–Pure Core Realm?" Bai Lingxi stammered, her voice trembling as she stared at the fruit in his hands.

"Heavens, wouldn't that make her stronger than everyone in the sect? Heck, why are you still disciples then?" Luo Li exclaimed, looking at Bai Lingxi as if she had grown a second head.

Wang Ming rolled his eyes. He hadn't expected to receive something like this either. After completing a mission, he'd been rewarded with the fruit—though he had thought the reward would be something beneficial to himself, not to the girls.

[Quest: Dual Cultivate with Zhou Huixin and Min Li]

[Reward: ????]

'Well, at least Lingxi will get stronger,' Wang Ming thought with a sigh. He didn't regret it. Even if the item wasn't useful for him, as long as it helped his girls, it was worth it.

"Here, catch," Wang Ming said, tossing the resources for Shi Yu and Luo Li toward them first, then the fruit to Bai Lingxi, who caught it in a panic.

"Hey, be careful!" Bai Lingxi's heart nearly leapt out of her chest when she saw Wang Ming casually tossing away her chance to break into the Pure Core Realm. She sighed in relief once she caught it safely, afraid it might've been damaged and her chance vanished forever.

"Eat it," Wang Ming said. Bai Lingxi's eyes lit up, and she nodded before sitting cross-legged on the floor. Shi Yu and Luo Li, instead of starting their own cultivation, decided to watch nervously, postponing their training to witness the event.

Crunch

Bai Lingxi took a deep breath and brought the fruit to her lips. The moment it touched them, a cold aura seeped through, but instead of discomfort, it brought a strangely pleasant sensation. Then she opened her mouth wider and took a bite. The chill surged through her body, invigorating every pore.

"Ahhh~" she moaned softly in pleasure from the taste of the fruit, taking several more small bites until she had eaten it completely.

Woosh!

All of a sudden, the ground beneath her began to freeze, and before the wide eyes of Wang Ming, Shi Yu, and Luo Li, a phantom of an Ice Phoenix appeared behind her.

'Huh? Is that the Primordial Phoenix?' Wang Ming thought, feeling a faint sense of danger emanating from the phantom.

Screech!

The phantom let out a piercing cry as it soared across the room, dropping the temperature sharply. Snow began to blanket the floor, and frost crept along the walls.

"What the hell—!" Shi Yu cried in shock, shivering from the cold as her eyes followed the majestic Phoenix.

"Damn, I feel like Sister Lingxi's going to end up even more broken than Wang Ming," Luo Li muttered, glancing at Wang Ming. His lips twitched, but he said nothing, keeping his gaze fixed on the Phoenix as it dove back into Bai Lingxi's body.

As soon as it reentered her, the air around Bai Lingxi began to surge with power—her aura growing stronger with each passing second.

Crack!

Woosh!

The violent aura around Bai Lingxi finally subsided as the ice receded. Slowly, she opened her eyes, a brilliant light flashing within them.

"This power…" Bai Lingxi said excitedly, clenching her fist as she felt the new strength coursing through her veins.

"Congratulations, Sister Lingxi! You actually reached the Pure Core Realm!" Shi Yu and Luo Li exclaimed, their eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Hmph, it's only natural," Bai Lingxi said, trying to sound indifferent—but the faint blush coloring her cheeks betrayed her true feelings.

"Soul Eyes," Wang Ming muttered, and in the next moment, her details appeared before him.

"Damn, even I'm jealous of this technique," Wang Ming muttered, causing the girls to look at him in confusion.

"What happened?" Bai Lingxi asked, raising an eyebrow. Wang Ming looked at her and explained, and her eyes lit up in realization.

"Really? I didn't notice. Let's try it." She closed her eyes, and her lips curled into a smile when she confirmed she had indeed gained a new technique. "Phoenix Spirit."

Screech!

A phantom of a majestic phoenix burst forth from Bai Lingxi's body, letting out a piercing cry as it soared around the room before hovering gracefully above her.

Bai Lingxi raised her arm, and the phoenix shrank in size before perching delicately on it. She gently stroked its icy feathers.

"Ah, let me try!" Shi Yu squealed, reaching out—but her hand passed through the phoenix, leaving behind a layer of frostbite.

"No one can touch her except me," Bai Lingxi said with a smug look.
