ODETTE

"Mother." Odette spoke slowly and quietly. She was shocked to see her mother.
Or rather someone who looked like her. Violet stood before Odette with eyes that glowed red violet with slitted pupils. Her face was hardened.
Odette was paralyzed.
And Violet locked away in her own mind could only sit and watch. Her daughter was standing before her in the flesh.
She had changed so much. Felt so different. Smelled new.
She looked strong, beautiful, and radiant. So much more than the little girl in dresses she saw last.
Odette stood like a woman, carrying unshakable confidence and raw power.
Violet was gleamed with pride.
She wasn’t just the Princess of Darkness anymore; she was the daughter of a goddess. Divine.
Ezelreth looked back at Violet who was smiling at the sight of her healthy, safe, beautiful daughter.
"This couldn’t be anymore ironic. How divine and cruel fate can be." Ezelreth chuckled, Violet dropped her smile.
Now he knew her secret.
"Your daughter is the MoonChild. My sworn enemy. You signed over your body to save her and in reality signed her death warrant instead. How delectable." He was way too pleased with this development and the smile on his face turned Violet’s stomach upside down.
"MoonChild, your mother is gone. It is only I who remains." Ezelreth was staring at Violet’s conscious presence as he spoke with her voice.
Violet wanted felt a violent urge to rip out his throat. Digging her nails into her hand to restrain form ripping his soul the shreds in her own mind.
She didn’t yet have the strength to fight him. And she would have to wait for him to turn over the wheel to her own body while he rested inside it if she wanted to gain any more strength quietly.
In an instant, Alpha King Ambrose shifted, the sound of bonus cracking and muscles ripping echoed through the weyline. And what stood in his place now, was a magnificent beast with black fur on four paws. Standing beside Odette proud and strong. His large sharp fangs dripped with saliva. His wolf looked hungry and ready to strike.
Violet would accept her death if it meant her daughter would walk away safe an unharmed.
She decided in that moment if the wolf did jump at her, she’d do everything she can to restrict Ezelreth’s control over her body giving the wolf as much chance as she could to end them both.
This wolf was the one the goddess spoke of, her daughter’s protector. The man who kidnapped her daughter was truly her protector.
And the way he stood possessively and protectively next to Odette brought a small sliver of peace to her heart.
"Ezelreth, I will destroy you, just like I did last time. You were born a loser; you died a loser. You won’t win, not last time and not this time." The voice that came from Odette boomed with ancient power and authority carrying more than just her own voice but the goddess within.
Violet internally grinned proudly at her daughter.
Ezelreth chuckled with Violet’s voice. Except it sounded tainted and foreign "We will see MoonChild, won’t we. I am looking forward to our fated war and destined battle."
And with those last words, darkness closed in on them and Violet disappeared in a cloud of shadow and smoke.
"You won’t win against her." Violet said firmly to Ezelreth.
"Oh, my dear. She won’t win against me this time. Not when I am her own mother. My leverage is far superior this time." He laughed maniacally in Violets face.
She lost her composure for only a moment, and she punched Ezelreth in the mouth.
The action surprised even her. She wasn’t known for violence and the few times she’s been violent; she wasn’t entirely herself.
But this time. This one was entirely her.
"I didn’t know you could bite. And here I thought you were a pacifist." He grinned at Violet. Rubbing his jaw.
"I’m not a pacifist; I’m just not interested in violence. But for you, I’ll make the exception." She spat at him.
"Don’t get too ballsy my little Queen, or I’ll wrap you up good and tight, again." Ezelreth growled.
"Screw you, asshole." She spit on his face.
This enraged Ezelreth, he slapped her hard across the face "Stupid bitch." He focused his attention on Theoron.
"You let the spy go?" He asked "And you let that bastard child get away.
"I got more than the answers I needed." Ezelreth smiled.
"And what were those answers? Were they worth me letting my chance at revenge and justice slip through my fingers?" Theoron the Rogue King growled.
Ezelreth reached out with Violet’s hand and grabbed Theoron’s throat, squeezing it tight, "You are MY servant. You work for ME. Not the other way around. I don’t owe you an explanation. You are a pawn in my game; we have similar goals. Do well to remember, I don’t need your help, you simply make my game easier to play. Remember your place mortal."
Theoron’s eyes widened in surprise, even with the height difference, he couldn’t believe this. He knew Ezelreth wasn’t weak, but in the body of such a small woman, he didn’t expect such inhuman strength. He found himself paralyzed by Ezelreth gaze unable to even fight for air.
Theoron was desperate for oxygen, his lips turning purple. His windpipe felt crushed. He couldn’t even gasp for air.
When Ezelreth released him, Theoron fell to the floor coughing profusely and gagging as he tried to inhale.
"Yes... Master..." Theoron coughed between words.
"That’s better." Ezelreth turned, walking away. Theoron understood he was meant to follow and quickly scrambled to his feet, rushing to catch up.
"I will tell you what I needed to know." Ezelreth continued once Theoron caught up. "I need to know if the Alpha King was first wolf. When they arrived inside the weyline, I realized this little spy was important, and I wanted to confirm my suspicion. And I did. The Alpha King is indeed the first wolf. Which means we move on to the next part of my plan."
Ezelreth sinister smirk appeared on his face. "What new and exciting information I learned. The MoonChild arrived with him, and would you like to know her identity in this life?"
Theoron shifted uncomfortable as he followed, he didn’t like the way Ezelreth’s aura felt.
"Yes, if you would share of course." Theoron was much more formal with his conversation now.
"Violet’s very own daughter. The Princess of Vampires."
