Chapter 299: That was scary
"Cassie, look at what you’re doing. You broke reality around this world. Kai and his lovers live here." Leo waved his hand, and reality returned to what it was before Cassie’s outrage.
Kai had felt a bit of her power, and it terrified him. He couldn’t even fathom the level of their strength.
’She just got a bit angry, and that broke reality? What the actual fuck?!’
"Who cares. There are trillions of mortals he can pick from. He shouldn’t even be associating himself with them anyway. He should be in the realm of the gods, where the future generations of deities are nurtured."
"Slow down now, I like my girls here. I don’t want them gone." Kai responded. He was still terrified of her power, but he could feel Leo’s presence helping him relax.
"Sweetie, they’re just mortals, playthings at best for someone of your level. Your cousin is a Titaness; I can introduce you to her. Maybe you two could get married. She has large breasts and big buttocks, just the way you like them."
"Hmm, hold up, I do like women with some big ass and tits." Kai was getting interested in his mother’s proposal.
"Don’t listen to her, Kai. I have everything planned out for you. Just enjoy your time in this world, raise your children, grandchildren, and after a few centuries, or millennia, I’ll come and pick you up so I can teach you about the universe." Leo had a plan for Kai, and he wasn’t going to allow Cassie to ruin it.
"Hmph, don’t you want to get to know your mother? Come with me, son. Mommy misses you more than you could ever realize."
"I think I’ll stay." Kai had already made up his mind. He didn’t want to leave, and he also wanted to raise his kids like Leo had said. Besides, he wasn’t finished with his adventure.
Cassie did not like this at all. Her expression shifted from love to anger, but her anger was directed at Leo, not Kai.
"I mean, you can visit me anytime you want, right? So just do it. Leo checks in on me all the time. You can do so now as well."
"Oh, you make a good point." Cassie didn’t even think of that. She had no problem visiting her son often, even if she had to step into a mortal world.
"Sweet" Kai tried to get off Cassie’s lap but she wouldn’t let him.
"What are you doing?" She asked
"Trying to get off your lap."
"Why?"
"Uhh, because I wish to stand up."
"Is my lap not good enough?"
"Oh, no, it’s the best, but I wouldn’t want to make you too uncomfortable."
"Nonsense! You’re my son, you can never make me uncomfortable."
Kai gave Leo the ’Help me, bro!’ look, and Leo stepped in.
"Cassie, time to go." He told her.
"What?"
"We’re leaving. Let Kai continue his fun."
Cassie just got her son back, and she was forced to let him go already. It was as if he was being stripped away from her all over again.
"Fine." She knew she couldn’t do anything to Leo and decided to comply. "My sweet, I’ll be back to visit often. Very often." She kissed Kai goodbye on the cheek, then vanished in a pillar of light.
"Sorry about that, man." Leo didn’t know how Kai felt. The story he told his son was exposed, and he wondered if Kai was upset with him or not.
"It’s alright. A bit weird, and scary, but I’m alright. Now give me back my divinity." Kai was joking and didn’t really care to become a god or anything. He would definitely accept if Leo decided to give it back right now, but he was content with the way things were.
"Haha! Don’t worry. In time, you will become who you were meant to be at your birth. Just enjoy yourself and don’t let Cassie get to your head. This is the reason why I wanted you to live as a mortal and not as a deity."
"Well, I’m happy you made this decision. Anyway, if you don’t mind, I would like to get back to my adventure."
"Alright, see ya." Leo made time start again and vanished before anyone could know he was there.
"Yes, we’re okay, Kai. But what was that? I thought we were going to capsize!" Cornelia stood up, her legs a bit wobbly and wiggly, but she managed to balance herself.
"Huh? Oh! Right, that’s great. Yeah, I added a feature to prevent capsizing because that shit is scary and dangerous. Pretty cool though, right?"
"No! BLERGHHHHHH!!!!" Sasha puked over the edge of the ship, emptying her stomach.
"That nearly gave me a heart attack. I hate being on water! Kai, please hurry up and take us to land! Please! I can’t take this anymore!" Kyana could barely stand because of how weak her legs were. The water was really her worst enemy.
"Kai, man, I don’t think I should be behind the helm. I have no idea what I’m doing." Barry felt like it was his fault that they nearly capsized and didn’t want to put others at risk again.
"I’ll take back over. I like steering ships anyway." Cornelia reassured Barry that it’s okay to mess up when sailing a ship, as she made mistakes during her learning time as well.
Kai nodded and walked over to Kyana. "Don’t worry, babe, we’re almost on land, look."
She looked up and land was in sight. The amount of relief she felt was enough to calm her down.
"We’re not going to the demon king right away, are we?" Amaya asked. She wasn’t asking because she didn’t want to; she was asking because she wanted to fight the guy right now.
"No, Amaya, we’re not." Amaya lept into his arms as he continued to speak while rubbing her head. "We’re going to wind down for a few days, train for a bit, then travel around the western archipelago, fight some pirates, then face the demon king."
"Sounds great! As long as I can cut off some heads!" Amaya purred in Kai’s arms.
"Barry, we need to make you strong enough to face the demon king, so we’ll be training a lot. Patty, Iris, are you two ready to help?"
"Yes, we are!" They could feel themselves getting wet.
"Good, good. I’ll be giving you two extra training sessions to make Barry stronger than ever. I hope you two are ready."
