Chapter 438: 434, I told you so three years ago, now you’re dumbfounded, aren’t you?
Beatrice Hargrave’s solo concert proceeded as scheduled, with the sports stadium in Banyan City almost fully seated.
Just as Nathan Moore said, Nicholas Croft was intent on making her a star without regard for the return on his investment.
The price of the concert tickets was barely more expensive than a movie ticket, and he had invited friends from within the industry.
As one of the top ten tycoons in the entertainment circle, Nicholas Croft’s connections were incomparable to those of ordinary people.
Although Beatrice’s father, Henry Hargrave, did not put in much effort, his status meant that numerous artists and stars were eager to please him, so naturally, many came to support the event.
As Nicholas Croft’s brothers, Nathan Moore, Felix Shaw, and Evander Lancaster, each attended the event in full dress.
Evander Lancaster wore a formal suit with an overcoat and a tie. His hair was also carefully styled and, in his own words, such an important occasion should be taken seriously, just in case he accidentally appeared on camera.
Felix Shaw was even more extravagant, bringing Mia Foster along. The pair showed up in matching sportswear, faces aglow with blue and yellow, and they even brought glow sticks, sitting in the VIP seats with Felix’s arm possessively around Mia.
Sitting next to Nathan Moore, which clearly irked him.
Hmph, as if having a woman makes one great. His woman would also be here soon!
He had already asked Beatrice about it, having invited Titus Zane, and yes, it was the empty seat next to him.
It was unclear whether Beatrice did so unintentionally or on purpose, but Evander Lancaster’s VIP seat was placed behind him and Felix Shaw.
The thought of Evander Lancaster sitting behind him, watching his older brothers interact with his woman, led Nathan Moore to believe that Beatrice definitely did it on purpose.
Less than half an hour into the concert, the absence of Titus Zane was making Nathan Moore anxious.
He took out his phone and called Nicholas Croft. It rang for a long time before being answered.
"Big brother, is Beatrice with you?"
"Yes." The concise single-word reply made Nathan aware that Nicholas Croft was busy, but he still persisted, "Could you check with her if she gave Titus Zane the ticket to the concert?"
That girl is simple-minded and could have forgotten.
"No time." After dropping three words, the call was abruptly ended.
Behind him, Evander Lancaster couldn’t help but laugh in a not-so-kind manner.
Next to him, Felix Shaw was too busy being affectionate with Mia Foster to spare any attention elsewhere.
Nathan Moore pocketed his phone in his jacket and turned to glare fiercely at Evander Lancaster, who simply raised an eyebrow nonchalantly.
"Second brother, recall what I said three years ago? You didn’t heed my advice then, and now you’re at a loss, aren’t you?"
"Nobody would mistake you for a mute if you kept quiet!"
Nathan Moore sharply retorted, displeased, and turned back around.
Three years ago, did he even recognize that he had started to develop feelings for that woman? At the time, he thought his desire for her body was just a way to vent his spite.
Who would have known she would leave, and in such an extreme manner? Furthermore, he only belatedly realized that she had taken root deep in his heart.
Raising his wrist to check the time, his eyebrows furrowed in worry, and behind him, Evander Lancaster’s voice rang out again.
"Stop checking, your lady is right over there."
Nathan Moore suddenly looked up, "Where? Where is she?"
Beside him, Felix Shaw glanced over, with a look of disdain and a snort, "Pathetic!" He was then greeted with an "Ouch!"
The enclosed Mia Foster had elbowed Felix in the chest.
Mia glared at him, "You’re the one without dignity, forcing yourself on your own wife!"
Felix laughed heartily, his charming peach blossom eyes enticing as he said, "What do you mean force? It’s called being flirtatious."
After saying that, he leaned in to kiss Mia Foster, but was disdainfully pushed away.
