Chapter 406: 402, Nathan Moore, you’ve left me with another shadow.

When Nathan Moore came out, Titus Zane was still sitting on the marble floor, the woman who usually loved cleanliness and tidiness, now, with fallen cigarette ashes scattered before her on the ground.

One hand tightly clutching a pack of cigarettes, and the other holding a cigarette resting on her lips, she kept inhaling; the cigarette had already burned out, but she hadn’t noticed, as if possessed by an internal fire.

Nathan had already put on his homewear and walked over, bent down to lift her up from the marble floor, placing her on the sofa, and then took the cigarette butt between her fingers and put it in the ashtray.

After completing a series of movements, just as he was about to sit down next to Titus, she shot him a sharp glance.

"Stay away from me, sit over there!"

Nathan was about to sit down when he paused, glanced at Titus, and met her obviously sharp eyes. Without saying anything, he obediently sat down at the other end of the sofa.

Turning her eyes to stare at him, Titus curled up entirely within the sofa, and only when she saw that he was comfortably seated with no intention of coming over did she retract her gaze.

She lowered her eyes, took out another cigarette from the pack she was holding, placed it between her lips, and struck the lighter a few times before lighting the cigarette. Taking a deep puff, she exhaled the smoke as though sighing.

One arm wrapped around her knees, her dangling eyelashes trembling slightly.

"Nathan, you’ve left me with another trauma, and you forced me..."

Titus said this after taking another puff of her cigarette, exhaling the smoke with her voice soft, almost like a calm confession, making Nathan’s handsome brows furrow. Seeing her curled up figure, his heart was in turmoil; he had also found it difficult to control himself just now.

Wanting to stand up, even though Titus’s gaze was lowered and she seemed immersed in her own world, Nathan’s slight movement was acutely perceived by her, showing how terrified she was at the moment.

Raising her arm towards Nathan’s direction, she continued to take puff after puff from the other cigarette in her fingers, "Don’t come over! Sit back down!"

With a heavy sigh, Nathan had no choice but to lean back in the sofa again.

Titus continued her accusations, the newly lit cigarette quickly finished. She tossed the stub into the ashtray across a small distance, and it rolled onto the coffee table. Nathan quickly reached out to pick it up and put it into the ashtray.

"Nathan, after all these years, you haven’t changed at all, you still like to force..."

Titus pulled out another cigarette, holding it to her lips while picking up a lighter to light it. Nathan could see clearly, her fingers were trembling slightly.

Her brown wavy hair was messily spread over her shoulders, part of it covering half of her face, but the slightly swollen look in her eyes couldn’t be hidden.

Especially the pair of fair, long legs that an outer garment couldn’t cover, when curled up on his side, showed faint marks at the position of her buttocks.

Those were finger marks, his finger marks, left from his uncontrollable slaps during the height of passion.

Although he too was covered in wounds, with several scratches across his shoulders, chin, and especially his chest where she had bitten him drawing out fine beads of blood, still, seeing her numb appearance, his heart ached.

Wanting to go over to comfort her, but fearing being rejected again, he hesitated; then he saw the trembling woman shivering even more, unsure if it was from fear or the chill inside the room.

When he came back, he was so focused on doing the "right thing" that he forgot to turn on the air conditioner.

He grabbed the remote control from the coffee table, turned on the air conditioner, Nathan got up, strode to the opposite side of the sofa and sat down, forcefully pulling the still trembling woman into his embrace.

Titus’s action of smoking paused, and she mechanically turned her eyes to look at Nathan, her pale face showing no emotion, "Get up!"

Seeing that Nathan didn’t move, she raised her hand and slapped his handsome face, "Don’t touch me, get lost!"
