Chapter 397: 393、Director Moore’s character and taste in wine are equally admirable.

The collaboration between the two companies was a success, and a celebration was inevitable.

Titus Zane thought Nathan Moore would not attend, considering the unpleasant incident that occurred in the morning, but he arrived on time.

During the contract signing, he maintained a professional demeanor, serious and proper, without letting personal grievances interfere.

After signing the contract, he even shook Wesley Foley’s hand, saying, "Director Foley, it’s a pleasure doing business with you."

Although his words were formal, there was nothing out of the ordinary.

Wesley’s team had more people attending, including Wesley himself, Titus Zane, a secretary, and a department manager, while Nathan Moore brought only Tilly Zimmerman.

At the dinner table, Tilly Zimmerman shifted from her proactive approach to a submissive demeanor, sitting quietly next to Nathan Moore. During the toasting, she simply followed suit without much conversation.

If it weren’t for the fact that Nathan Moore had not been with him last night, Titus Zane might have misconstrued something, but he had clearly left only this morning!

Remembering the time in the morning, an alarm went off in Titus Zane’s heart. Nathan Moore had left a lot of time before work started, and he had changed into a new suit when he came to the company to sign the contract. Could something have happened after he went back to the apartment in the morning?

Titus Zane was full of suspicion, yet he couldn’t voice it out.

Just that, he felt a heavy weight in his chest.

Naturally not good at small talk, now, he was even more reticent.

Around him, starting with Wesley’s secretary, everyone stood up one by one to toast Nathan Moore, who did not refuse and responded to each one.

Having known Nathan Moore for so long, Titus Zane might not be clear about his alcohol tolerance; at least, she had never seen him drunk.

As for every time he returned to the apartment afterward and came to her room with a hint of alcohol, she really did not know how much he drank.

Seeing how approachable Nathan Moore was, the secretaries and managers took turns toasting again, and Titus Zane noticed that after Nathan Moore drank another glass, he noticeably frowned, seeming very uncomfortable.

Just like last night, watching his subordinates toast, Wesley Foley did not intervene but instead praised Nathan Moore with a smile, "Director Moore truly has a great tolerance for alcohol. Not only are you a good man, but your drinking prowess is admirable too."

Although it was clearly a courteous remark, Titus Zane felt there was an undertone.

After being urged to drink several glasses on an empty stomach, without much food, even someone who can handle a thousand drinks would find it hard to bear.

Tonight, Nathan Moore wore a black shirt, his tie loosely hanging in front of his chest, a few buttons undone at the collar revealing a slightly muscular chest. His dark eyes visibly bloodshot, a sign of drunkenness.

One hand holding the glass, the other dangling by the side of the chair, he leaned lazily against the back of the chair, his gaze heavy and when he looked up, it was quite imposing, especially the slightly curled lips, carrying an almost imperceptible smirk, like a mischievously wicked count, compelling one to be on guard.

"Hmph," with a cold chuckle from his nostrils and looking directly at Wesley Foley, Nathan Moore said, "Good or bad alcohol tolerance is something to be seen at the end, but let me assure you, Director Foley, that I, Nathan Moore, even if I drank too much, would crawl back myself if I have to, without burdening any woman!"

Aside from the secretary and manager, everyone else at the table knew well that Nathan Moore was mocking Wesley Foley for needing a woman to get home.

Exposed, Wesley Foley was not annoyed; instead, he smiled and gave a thumbs up to Nathan Moore, "Great! Director Moore, a real man! I respect you for being a man of your words. Here, let’s drink!"
