Chapter 136: Chapter 133: Mr. Rong, Can’t You Think Positively? (3)
Rong Mochen gazed at her worried little face, unable to resist teasing her. He tightened his long arms around her slim waist, his warm breath spraying onto her flushed face, and softly said, "Just rest like this."
How can I rest like this?
Jin Jumo was genuinely concerned about his rest, so she didn’t realize he was joking. Her brows furrowed, "How is that okay? Mr. Rong, you should go back."
"What about you if I leave?" Rong Mochen raised an eyebrow.
"I’ll nap by Grandpa’s bed for a while, and maybe he’ll wake up soon," Jin Jumo said.
"You’re pregnant now, and you’ve lost a lot of weight recently, always throwing up. I don’t feel at ease leaving you here alone," Rong Mochen said calmly.
"I won’t. I was throwing up before because I was worried about Grandpa, so my pregnancy reaction was severe. Now that Grandpa is awake, my worry is gone, so I won’t keep throwing up," Jin Jumo said softly, her pale fingers unconsciously picking at his shoulder.
Rong Mochen only felt a turmoil in his heart from her picking. He squinted slightly, took her hand, and clasped it in his palm, his dark eyes quietly watching her, "You seem to know the root of your problem well."
Jin Jumo pressed her lips, a slight curve on her mouth, "Mr. Rong, go back, hmm?"
"No," Rong Mochen said.
"Mr. Rong, um..." Jin Jumo’s insistence was cut off as he sealed her lips again, this time more fiercely than before.
"Bang—"
After taking a couple of deep breaths, Jin Jumo turned to look at the door but found it silent, with no one there.
Blinking in confusion, Jin Jumo slowly turned back to look at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes were deep, his finely chiseled face calm and composed. He hoarsely asked, "What’s wrong?"
Jin Jumo swallowed, "Did Mr. Rong hear any sound just now?"
Rong Mochen raised his dark brows slightly, "Sound? What sound?"
"..." Hearing his reply, Jin Jumo couldn’t help but doubt if she had misheard, watching his calm face for a while, she gently shook her head, "I guess I heard wrong."
Rong Mochen didn’t speak, his elegantly jointed hand brushed the back of Jin Jumo’s head.
Jin Jumo looked towards the door again, her gaze fixed for a few seconds, and said, "I’ll go close the door."
She said this and tried to get off his lap.
Rong Mochen squinted slightly, suddenly tightening the arm encircling her waist, "I’ll go."
Not giving Jin Jumo a chance to speak, Rong Mochen lifted her up and placed her on the edge of the bed, striding towards the door.
Jin Jumo blinked, staring at his straight back.
Reaching the door, Rong Mochen’s dark eyes glanced indifferently at the white plush blanket on the hallway bench, then closed the door.
When Rong Mochen turned and walked towards her, Jin Jumo’s clear eyes were fixed on his face, showing confusion, "Is there really no one outside?"
Rong Mochen pursed his lips tightly, his dark eyes faintly looking at her, "What you really want to ask is if Ying Jingyao is still around, right?"
"..." Jin Jumo’s face froze, sheepishly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, pretending not to have heard.
Rong Mochen coolly watched Jin Jumo’s unnatural face. As he was walking towards her, his legs suddenly turned, heading towards the sofa in the ward.
The VIP ward, though larger than standard rooms, was more homely in decor, but not too far from Jinming Port City.
The sofa was not narrow, but not wide enough either, about long enough for three or four people seated side by side, with a single-seater sofa on one side.
Rong Mochen sat on the long sofa, with his long limbs and tall frame, making the sofa look only slightly longer than the single-seater.
Jin Jumo looked up at the central air conditioning in the ward, got up and adjusted the temperature with the remote, considering he was only wearing a thin wool sweater and might be cold.
Gripping the coat draped over her shoulders, she walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Rong Mochen’s dark eyes deepened as he stared at her, coldly questioning.
"...I’m going to find the nurse to get two more blankets," Jin Jumo paused, startled by his cold voice, looking at him in confusion and speaking softly.
Rong Mochen’s handsome face was cold and tense, but he stood up from the sofa and walked over to Jin Jumo, giving her a cold look before heading to the door, closing it behind him.
Jin Jumo stood dumbfounded, not knowing what to make of it.
This person is really spoiled, changing moods at the drop of a hat, why not just fly to the heavens!
Suppressing her frustration with a couple of deep breaths, Jin Jumo took solace in the fact that he was tirelessly accompanying her, deciding to be generous and not take it to heart!
Rong Mochen closed the ward door, his sharp, black eyes sweeping towards the blanket on the chair. With a cold tug of his thin lips, he stepped forward, scooped up the blanket with one arm, and walked towards the nurse’s station.
In the VIP ward’s nurse’s station, the head nurse was on duty with one male and one female nurse.
When Rong Mochen entered, the three of them were huddled together having a midnight snack, the room filled with the scent of barbecue and instant noodles mingling with the smell of disinfectant.
Rong Mochen barely frowned, his voice even cooler and more ghostly in the midnight air, "Are there any more blankets?"
"Ah..."
"Pfft..."
"Oh my gosh..."
The sudden icy voice from behind startled the three, each reacting differently but all visibly frightened.
The young nurse screamed, and the string of kebabs in her hand fell to the ground in fright, while the head nurse was drinking soup and sprayed it out when she heard.
The male nurse, being a man, was startled enough that his heart jumped to his back, but he was the first to turn and look at Rong Mochen, and upon seeing him, he gasped and uttered his catchphrase, "Whoa..."
Rong Mochen furrowed his long brows coldly, his dark eyes sweeping towards the male nurse.
The male nurse, already scared, shivered as he saw Rong Mochen looking at him like King Yanluo with a chilling gaze, and hurriedly stood up from his seat, saying, "Sorry, sir, I didn’t mean to offend you, it’s just a habit of mine, please don’t mind."
Rong Mochen withdrew his gaze, and casually looked at the older lady, "Do you have any blankets?"
The older lady was indeed the head nurse.
Seeing him look at her, the head nurse didn’t care about her undignified state, she grabbed a tissue and wiped her mouth, throat burning from spicy soup, she could only nod at his question, unable to speak.
The young nurse, having recovered from her fright, stared straight at Rong Mochen with wide eyes, still not comprehending whether the figure in front of her was human or ghost.
Though she felt the possibility of him being human was low, since she had never seen such a good-looking living person!
Moreover, he appeared before her in the deep of night, was so cold, his gaze deep and void of warmth, exuding a bone-chilling aura...
So, she stubbornly believed that the man before her was not human, but a ghost!
"Ah..." The young nurse was still immersed in her own imaginary fantasy, and suddenly someone slapped her shoulder hard, so hard she almost fell sideways, luckily she grabbed the table edge in panic.
The young nurse cried out in pain, looking displeased at the head nurse.
The head nurse’s voice was a bit hoarse, "Quickly go and get two blankets for this gentleman, can’t you be more alert!"
The young nurse rubbed her shoulder, muttering, "You always tell me!"
Though she complained, the young nurse still got up and glanced at Rong Mochen out of the corner of her eye as she passed him.
Rong Mochen noticed, his dark eyes coldly fixed on her for a moment.
The young nurse blushed, bit her lip shyly, and hurried out.
Rong Mochen frowned slightly, handing the blanket in his hand to the head nurse.
The head nurse was slightly surprised, wondering why this person asked for a blanket when he clearly had one.
"Do you know where Doctor Ying’s office is?" Rong Mochen’s voice was cool and calm.
"I know." Before the head nurse could speak, the male nurse responded.
Rong Mochen raised an eyebrow, then handed the blanket over to the male nurse.
The imposing aura of the man before him was so strong, the male nurse hardly dared meet his eyes, foolishly accepting the blanket.
"This blanket should have been left outside the ward by Doctor Ying. Please deliver it to Doctor Ying." Rong Mochen lowered his black lashes, speaking faintly.
The male nurse was startled, "Doctor Ying left it behind?"
Rong Mochen didn’t respond.
The male nurse felt a chill, nodded, "I will deliver it to Doctor Ying right away."
"Hmm." Rong Mochen finally glanced at him.
For that one glance alone, the male nurse suddenly felt invigorated, chuckled, and rushed towards the door.
The head nurse, seeing this, twitched the corner of her mouth.
After all, he’s just a kid, easily overwhelmed!
Before long, the young nurse returned with two blankets, blushing as she looked at Rong Mochen, and said softly, "Sir, here are the blankets you wanted."
Rong Mochen took the blankets, "Thank you."
"No..." Thanks!
The word "thanks" hadn’t even left her lips when he coldly brushed past her...
The young nurse clutched her chest, feeling her heart shatter.
The head nurse couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to tap her on the head, "Hopelessly infatuated!"
The young nurse retorted, "Can you say he’s not good-looking? Can you say you didn’t look at him?"
"..." The head nurse was speechless, her old face turning red, glaring at her fiercely, "No respect for your elders, do you want your bonus docked?"
"..." That’s always the threat!
Jin Jumo came from the bathroom carrying a basin of warm water to wipe Jin Jiancheng’s face and hands, hearing the door open, she glanced back slightly.
Rong Mochen entered carrying two blankets with one hand, the other coolly tucked in his pants pocket, when he saw her look over, he cast her a cold glance and headed towards the sofa.
Jin Jumo couldn’t help but find it amusing, carrying two blankets like a runway, how heavy is his idol burden?
Pressing her lips together, Jin Jumo quickly finished wiping Jin Jiancheng and carried the basin back to the bathroom, washed her hands, dried them with a towel, rolled down her sleeves, and headed out.
Rong Mochen’s lips remained sealed as he watched her walk towards him.
Jin Jumo didn’t say anything to him, picked up one blanket and spread it on the sofa, placed a pillow on one end of the sofa, and then looked at Rong Mochen, who was staring at her, and said, "Sleep."
