Chapter 263: Chapter 255: The First Time He Directly Called Her Beautiful (2)
The latter looked nonchalant.
Jin Jumo glanced at the dishes on the table, her gaze fixed on a plate of brain for a second, then she shook her head, "I’m good with anything."
Rong Mochen narrowed his eyes slightly, "Take that away."
"What thing?" Gu Yan looked around.
Lei Yicheng chuckled and took the plate of brain in front of him to the dish rack behind him.
Gu Yan, "..."
"What else do you want to eat?" Rong Mochen looked at Jin Jumo warmly and whispered.
"You guys decide, I’m easy." Jin Jumo licked her lips and quickly said.
Rong Mochen nodded, tightened his big hand around hers, "If you think of anything else, let me know and I’ll order more."
"Okay." Jin Jumo felt several amorous glances openly shooting at her face, making her cheeks burn hot with blush.
Xiao Nanqing scoffed, "Boss Rong, with you acting like this, how are the rest of us supposed to cope?"
Rong Mochen casually lifted his eyes to look at Xiao Nanqing, his tone calm, "How am I acting?"
Xiao Nanqing squinted, "You’re becoming a doting wife maniac. Be careful you’ll get stuck in this role."
This time it was Jin Jumo’s turn to look up and glare at him.
Why did it sound like he was indirectly warning someone not to spoil her too much, in case she gets too spoiled!
Wait a minute...
Jin Jumo lightly pursed her lips. Xiao Nanqing said "doting wife maniac"...
Wife...
What does that have to do with her?
Why was she automatically inserting herself into this?
Thinking of this, Jin Jumo silently lowered her head again.
Rong Mochen gently glanced at Jin Jumo, his thin lips lifted slightly, "Stuck or not, who cares."
Xiao Nanqing elegantly rolled his eyes!
Gu Yan couldn’t stand it either, rubbing his goosebumps-covered arms.
Who would have thought, a man as cool and aloof as him, being this bottomless when pampering a woman!
"Mommy’s blushing now too."
Xixi curiously extended her chubby little finger, pointing at the rosy side of Jin Jumo’s face, and said loudly.
Jin Jumo, "..."
This was the first time having dinner with Rong Mochen along with his friends.
The dinner wasn’t as awkward as Jin Jumo had imagined. The men considered she might feel uncomfortable, even Lei Yicheng occasionally made harmless jokes to lighten the atmosphere.
Plus, with Xixi, the little bundle of energy present.
The atmosphere was quite lively.
Hanhan, taking after someone, didn’t like to talk much, sitting primly like a little adult, so well-behaved one didn’t need to worry.
After dinner, the group cleared the table and started playing mahjong.
Jin Jumo noticed Lei Yicheng and Xiao Nanqing a few times bringing cigarettes to their lips only to put them back down.
Knowing they were mindful of Xixi and Hanhan being around, Jin Jumo glanced at the wall clock. It was almost 10.
Jin Jumo’s lips pressed together as she looked at a certain someone.
Just as Jin Jumo glanced over, the man who had been looking down at his cards slowly lifted his long lashes, his deep gaze locking onto her, "Just this one round."
Jin Jumo moved her lips, wanting to say something, but in the end, she obediently nodded lightly.
After one round, Rong Mochen pushed the tiles and stood up, gesturing to Xixi and Hanhan.
Xixi unreservedly leapt over to him.
Rong Mochen gently picked up his daughter, noticing Hanhan standing still in place, cool in demeanor.
Seeing this, Rong Mochen smirked slightly and stepped forward, stretching out another arm to lift him up.
Hanhan, thinking he was being discreet, curled the edges of his mouth, burying his head against Rong Mochen’s broad chest.
Jin Jumo pretended not to see Hanhan’s little expression, though in her heart she felt soft, reaching out to pat his little head.
Xiao Nanqing draped a leg casually over the mahjong table, his narrow phoenix eyes squinting, seemingly smiling yet ambiguous, "Time to head back, or this lovely ’scenic’ night might be wasted."
This "scenic" might’ve gone unnoticed by Jin Jumo, but the men clearly understood.
Rong Mochen lifted an eyebrow, "Let’s go."
With that, Rong Mochen left Qing She with his "scenic view" in tow.
Upon returning to the apartment, Xixi and Hanhan washed up and snuggled into their cozy blankets, quickly falling asleep.
Jin Jumo kissed each of the little ones on the forehead before stepping out of the bedroom.
Rong Mochen stood in the center of the living room, hands in his pockets, head slightly bowed, his long eyelashes concealing the emotions in his eyes completely.
Jin Jumo pursed her lips and walked into the master bedroom opposite.
Just as Jin Jumo stepped into the master bedroom, Rong Mochen slightly lifted his dark eyelashes, his deep pupils staring at Jin Jumo’s slender and soft back.
Jin Jumo came out of the bathroom after showering, holding a dry towel to wipe her damp long hair. Suddenly, her hand tightened, and the dry towel was pulled away by someone.
Jin Jumo’s eyelashes fluttered as she raised her eyes to look at the person.
Rong Mochen gently helped her dry her hair, his tone slow and mellow, "If you wash your hair at night, make sure you dry it immediately, okay?"
Jin Jumo shielded her eyelashes slightly and nodded.
Rong Mochen stopped his actions, took her hand and led her to sit in the chair in front of the dressing table, picking up the already prepared hair dryer to blow-dry her hair.
Jin Jumo’s heartbeat felt abnormal, her luminous eyes watched through the mirror at the man standing beside her, with his long fingers lightly brushing her hair.
As the man focused on blow-drying her hair, he lifted his eyes to look at her, and Jin Jumo’s eyes twinkled, "I’ll do it myself. You go wash up."
Rong Mochen stared at Jin Jumo for a moment, his thin lips unexpectedly lifted, handing the hair dryer to Jin Jumo, he turned and headed towards the bathroom.
Jin Jumo stared blankly at the person walking into the bathroom, why did she feel like his last glance at her was so eerie?
When Rong Mochen came out after freshening up, he saw Jin Jumo had already crawled under the covers, only revealing her lively eyes looking at him.
Rong Mochen’s Adam’s apple rolled lightly, stepping over to her.
But before he could get close, he heard her say, "I found a down quilt in the cupboard."
Rong Mochen paused slightly, just then noticing a neatly placed down quilt beside Jin Jumo.
His brows furrowed tightly, Rong Mochen stared at the quilt wrapped tightly around her, his voice slightly deep, "You want to sleep separately from me?"
Jin Jumo looked at him, not speaking.
Rong Mochen’s temples throbbed, his cold handsome face taut, looking very displeased.
Jin Jumo finally spoke, "I feel a bit uncomfortable today, I fear I caught a cold, we should sleep separately so I don’t infect you."
"Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
Upon hearing Jin Jumo’s words, Rong Mochen quickly stepped forward, sat on the edge of the bed, and touched her forehead with the back of his hand, then compared it with his own forehead, frowning as he said, "No fever."
"Who said you have to have a fever to catch a cold?" Jin Jumo murmured.
"Then where do you feel uncomfortable?" Rong Mochen’s hand rested on her stomach through the duvet, "Stomach ache?"
Jin Jumo shook her head, "A bit dizzy. I just drank a packet of medication, I’ll have a good night’s sleep and should be fine tomorrow."
Rong Mochen glanced at the cup on the bedside table and the torn packet of cold medicine, pausing for a moment, suddenly lifting the covers from Jin Jumo and squeezing his freshly washed, cool body inside.
Jin Jumo could feel his coldness even through her clothes, her shoulders shrunk back, "What are you doing?"
Rong Mochen held Jin Jumo tightly without any word, "Hold on for a moment, it’ll warm up."
"..." Jin Jumo’s voice caught in her throat, her eyes complicatedly watching the handsome face in front of her, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll infect you?"
Rong Mochen’s dark eyes narrowed slightly as he gazed at Jin Jumo, instead of answering her, he responded with his actions.
Rong Mochen cupped Jin Jumo’s face with one hand, his lips tipping lightly, "Even if what you drank was poison, I’d still kiss you."
Jin Jumo’s breath stopped, frowning as she looked at Rong Mochen for a long time before sighing inwardly and resting her head on his chest.
At first, Rong Mochen held Jin Jumo without a hint of restlessness, but as time went on his hands around Jin Jumo’s waist began to wander, poking here and pinching there.
Perhaps the medicine she drank earlier had a sedative effect, Jin Jumo became increasingly drowsy.
But even that couldn’t stop him from getting bolder with his hands.
Feeling his hand slide down, Jin Jumo angrily opened her eyes and glared at him.
Rong Mochen swallowed, finding Jin Jumo’s glaring appearance undeniably enticing.
Jin Jumo’s gaze did nothing to deter him, and he even began lowering his lips to kiss her.
Jin Jumo grew too angry to bear it, saying as he drew near, "If you keep doing this, I’ll go sleep with Xixi and Hanhan tomorrow!"
How to say this.
Rong Mochen’s expression was akin to an innocent child deprived of candy, his dark eyes filled with a passionate flame like an adult, staring at Jin Jumo, like a determined beast ready to tear apart the prey before him!
Jin Jumo took a deep breath, cupping Rong Mochen’s face with both hands, her brow furrowed with frustration, "I’m really tired."
With one "I’m really tired," Rong Mochen surrendered.
He pursed his dry lips, finally kissing Jin Jumo’s forehead, holding her tightly once more, "Sleep."
Jin Jumo blinked within his embrace, realizing his hands had finally settled down, allowing her to close her eyes and drift into a peaceful slumber.
Hearing the rhythmic breath from his arms, Rong Mochen pinched the bridge of his nose, looking at Jin Jumo, gently pulled out the arm she’d been lying on, adjusted her blanket, placed the extra down quilt over her, and left the master bedroom.
The next day, Jin Jumo awoke feeling overheated.
In the near-April weather, sometimes even one down quilt was too warm, let alone having two on her now.
Thinking someone had gone to work, Jin Jumo sat up amidst the covers.
Sweat had formed on her body, making her pajamas feel sticky and uncomfortable.
Jin Jumo got out of bed, headed to the bathroom for a shower and freshening up.
Because her pajamas were sticky, when she came out, Jin Jumo casually wrapped a towel around herself.
She swore she really believed the person had left, or else she wouldn’t have come out like this even in her sticky pajamas.
So when she unexpectedly saw someone in the room, Jin Jumo was stunned, forgetting to react.
