Chapter 121: Chapter 118: Rong Mochen Remains Silent 1
There was a moment of silence on the other end, then, "How much longer are you shopping?"
"...I’ve already left the mall," said Jin Jumo.
"Are you coming home for dinner?" the man asked in a low voice.
Jin Jumo glanced at Jian Liangtong, "Not coming home, Liang Tong and I are eating out."
After Jin Jumo finished speaking, there was silence on the other end.
Jin Jumo frowned, "Mr. Rong..."
"Where are you eating?" Rong Mochen asked, his voice unchanged from before.
"Haven’t decided yet." Jin Jumo saw Jian Liangtong was already waving her down from a distance with a taxi she had hailed, quickly said into the phone, "Not now, Mr. Rong, it’s a bit inconvenient for me right now."
"Wait there!" the man’s voice suddenly grew serious.
"What?" Jin Jumo was stunned.
"Just wait there, I’m coming over right now."
"Rong..." Before Jin Jumo could refuse, the other end had already hung up.
Jin Jumo stood there dumbfounded.
"Ju Zi, hurry over here." Jian Liangtong, already in the taxi, beckoned to Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo’s expression was a bit complex, raising her voice slightly, "You get out first." Saying this, she apologized to the driver, "Sorry, sir, we won’t be leaving right now."
Not leaving?
Jian Liangtong looked at her in confusion.
"Liang Tong, you get out first." Jin Jumo said.
"Are we going or not?" The driver urged impatiently.
Jian Liangtong shrugged, carrying all her bags out of the car, "We’re not leaving, sir, sorry for the trouble."
The driver muttered a couple of words and drove off.
Jian Liangtong struggled to bring the bags back, setting them down at her feet, looking at Jin Jumo, "Why aren’t we going all of a sudden? Did you forget to buy something?"
Jin Jumo reached out to smooth Jian Liangtong’s messy hair from her face, "Someone told us to wait here."
Jian Liangtong paused, "Who?"
Jin Jumo squinted her eyes slightly, calmly looking at Jian Liangtong.
Jian Liangtong’s eyes shifted, suddenly dawning on her, eyes wide with excitement, "The big boss?"
Jin Jumo curled her lips, "If Huo knew how long you’ve been drooling over his cousin’s looks, I wonder if he’d tear you apart?"
"Don’t make it sound so sleazy, okay?" Jian Liangtong blushed, "My admiration for the big boss is pure, without any romantic feelings."
"Hehe."
Jian Liangtong pouted, "Could it be you’re jealous?"
"I’m never jealous, you know that." Jin Jumo shrugged.
"Oh, please. Can you really say you don’t have even a tiny bit of affection for the big boss?" Jian Liangtong stared straight at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo stared back at her just as directly, "None."
Jian Liangtong looked at Jin Jumo for a while, seeing her face earnest and candid, frowned, dissatisfied, "Facing such a perfect man as the big boss and yet you’re not moved at all, Jin Jumo, are you even human?"
"Firstly, the word ’perfect’ requires a question mark. Secondly, if I’m not human, am I a ghost?" Jin Jumo said.
Jian Liangtong gave Jin Jumo a "beyond saving" look.
Jin Jumo didn’t mind, curling her lips, but a hint of solemnity still shadowed her bright eyes.
About twenty minutes later, a black Spyker car stopped in front of the shopping mall.
Jin Jumo and Jian Liangtong carried the results of their over three-hour battle towards the Spyker car, but unexpectedly, a strap on one of the shopping bags suddenly broke, dropping the bag to the ground. Jin Jumo bent down to pick it up, but before she could squat down, she was bumped hard by a passerby, causing her to fall sideways to the ground.
Jian Liangtong, walking ahead, didn’t notice, seeing Rong Mochen, who had been sitting in the car, suddenly push open the door and step out, walking briskly towards her with a cold face.
Jian Liangtong’s heart started beating wildly, silly and awestruck as she stood there with hearts in her eyes, holding her breath as she gazed at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen seemed to have rushed over from Jinming Port City, dressed more casually but still looking effortlessly handsome.
A black V-neck pullover, black trousers, a black long puffer coat with a stand collar, reaching below his knees, walking with a breeze, combined with his cool charisma, he was stunningly handsome.
As he got closer, Jian Liangtong’s shoulders started to lift.
However, the next second, a gust of cold wind swept past her face, making it sting.
Jian Liangtong awkwardly touched her face that was stung by the wind, licked her lips, and turned around to see Jin Jumo fallen to the ground, her pupils shook violently in shock, dropping the bags in her hands and running over swiftly.
Her elbow was gripped by a pair of large hands, Jin Jumo frowned deeply, her expression pained, she glanced at the stern handsome face above her, pursed her lips as he pulled her up.
"Ju Zi, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Jian Liangtong asked with a pale face, reaching out to touch Jin Jumo but hesitant to do so, deeply regretful.
"I’m fine." Jin Jumo clenched her palm, comfortingly looking at Jian Liangtong.
Rong Mochen furrowed his brows tightly, his fingers prying open Jin Jumo’s curled fingers, his dark eyes fixed on the bloodstains in her palm, exuding a chill even harsher than the cold air around them.
"Oh my god, it’s bleeding." Jian Liangtong’s eyes instantly turned red as she looked helplessly at Jin Jumo’s palm, "Ju Zi, is there anywhere else you’re hurt? Does it hurt? It must hurt, right? It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have rushed forward on my own, I..."
"It’s not your fault, it was just an accident. I’m fine, it’s just a scratch." Jin Jumo looked at Jian Liangtong and smiled.
"This isn’t just a scratch; it’s a bloody mess." Jian Liangtong choked out, feeling that Jin Jumo fell solely because of her.
It was her idea to drag her out shopping; she didn’t take good care of her, and she’s pregnant...
Suddenly, Jian Liangtong’s face turned pale, "Ju Zi, is your stomach okay, did you hurt your tummy, waah..."
Saying this, Jian Liangtong started crying, despite being a grown-up, not caring about the occasion, with a straightforward personality, not worrying about the eyes around her, letting out her emotions as they came.
Jin Jumo sighed, trying to pull her hand away to comfort her, but couldn’t shake it free.
Her eyes dazed, Jin Jumo looked at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen furrowed his brow tightly, his facial features firm and cold, his dark eyes coldly staring at her.
Jin Jumo’s heart trembled, "Rong..."
Just as Jin Jumo spoke, her legs were suddenly lifted off the ground, and she found herself being carried horizontally by the man.
Jin Jumo’s breath paused for several beats, then she lightly gasped, looking up at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen’s face was as cold as layers of ice, with thin, sharp lips pressed straight, exuding an aura of aloofness that warned strangers to stay away. He carried Jin Jumo to the Spyker car’s passenger seat, holding her steadily with one hand, opened the door, and placed her in the passenger seat without a word, then walked around the front of the car and got into the driver’s seat.
"Mr. Rong, Liangtong hasn’t gotten in yet."
Seeing Rong Mochen start the car, preparing to leave, Jin Jumo hurriedly said.
Rong Mochen stared coldly ahead, not looking at Jin Jumo, driving away without hesitation.
Jin Jumo pursed her lips, turned to look at Jian Liangtong, who was standing alone crying at the mall entrance. Her fair face grew colder, and she turned back to look at Rong Mochen, "Mr. Rong, you can’t just leave Liangtong like this. Didn’t you see she was crying?"
Rong Mochen remained silent.
"Mr. Rong, this matter isn’t Liangtong’s fault; someone accidentally bumped into me, that’s why I fell. She’ll think you’re blaming her if you do this."
Rong Mochen still didn’t speak, his expression cold and rigid, impervious to emotion.
Seeing the car getting further away, Jin Jumo became anxious.
She understood Jian Liangtong well; that girl loved to cry, not as strong and carefree as she appeared. If they left just like that, she might do something worrisome out of guilt.
"Mr. Rong..." Jin Jumo raised her voice slightly.
But this time, before she could finish, Rong Mochen retrieved a phone from the compartment, dialing a number, "Xin Sheng, come get your woman back!"
After one sentence, Rong Mochen tossed the phone back into the compartment, turning coolly to Jin Jumo, "Can you be quiet now?"
"..." Jin Jumo’s throat was blocked.
She was certain he wouldn’t turn back to pick up Jian Liangtong, and he had likely called Huo Shaojun earlier.
With Huo Shaojun accompanying Jian Liangtong, she indeed felt reassured.
So she pursed her small face and turned her head to the side.
Seeing this, Rong Mochen’s thin lips pressed even straighter.
In Jinming Port City, Yu Huihua saw Rong Mochen returning with Jin Jumo, both of them looking unwell, especially Rong Mochen, already a cool person, at that moment he resembled the King Yanluo, exuding an icy aura that warned strangers to stay away. An unease crept into her heart.
"Bring the first aid kit." Rong Mochen coldly ordered without looking at Yu Huihua.
First aid kit?
Yu Huihua was startled, glancing at Jin Jumo’s pale face, not daring to ask more, she hurried to get the first aid kit.
Rong Mochen directly carried Jin Jumo upstairs to the master bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, Rong Mochen placed Jin Jumo sitting on the edge of the bed, his cool face stern, crouching slightly in front of her, his large hand holding Jin Jumo’s ankle, his dark eyes rising coldly, looking at her indifferently, "Besides the injuries on your hands and legs, is there anywhere else that feels uncomfortable or painful?"
Although Jin Jumo was unhappy that he left Jian Liangtong behind, she still replied, "No."
Rong Mochen pressed his lips, his dark eyes shifting to her stomach.
Seeing this, Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered as she said, "When I fell, I was careful not to hit it."
When she fell, she instinctively arched her back, so only her palms and knees were injured.
Rong Mochen frowned, not saying anything further.
"Sir, the first aid kit." Yu Huihua entered with the first aid kit, only then noticing Jin Jumo’s hands, her eyes showing worry, she fiddled with her hands, turned, and soon returned carrying a basin of hot water.
"Sir, Madam’s wounds need to be cleaned and disinfected before applying medicine and bandaging, otherwise it might get infected, and that would be troublesome." Yu Huihua said.
"I know, you can leave now." Rong Mochen said.
Yu Huihua hesitated, then said, "Sir, you’ve never done this before, let me handle it."
"No need." Rong Mochen furrowed his brows, seeming a bit impatient.
Yu Huihua’s heart tightened, not daring to say more, bent down and retreated.
Jin Jumo watched Yu Huihua leave, then looked at Rong Mochen, "You could actually let Aunt Yu help me."
