Chapter 1696: Randomly Selecting Lucky Passengers

Chapter 1696: Chapter 1696: Randomly Selecting Lucky Passengers

"Earlier I wanted to speak, and you wouldn’t let me. Now you want to listen, but I just won’t say!" The sticker doll was quite temperamental, twisting its plump body as it sat on the ground, with the drawn mouth unmoving.

"It’s one thing after another," the shirt woman said, "Then throw it out..."

"No, no!" The sticker doll jumped up suddenly and quickly said, "Then listen carefully."

"My friends and I have simple requests: you only need to provide two Rank-B props, four Rank-C items, and One Million White Bills to reach your destination undisturbed."

"Of course, to show the sincerity of the robbery, we will randomly choose a few lucky passengers to demonstrate our prowess, lest anyone thinks they’ve been duped."

"As for the specific time... let’s set it for half an hour before lights out!"

"Oh dear! The time has passed. I wonder if any lucky passengers have been chosen!"

"Those two died at seven-thirty." The Buzz Cut player immediately said.

"You only want six props and One Million White Bills?" Skyward Braid couldn’t hold back and asked, "Is it for everyone to contribute collectively, or must each train car provide it?"

"Of course, each car must contribute; otherwise, we’d be losing out on this hijacking," the sticker doll turned its stiff neck to look at him. "But our demands aren’t excessive. Each car has at least ten players. Everyone just needs to pitch in a bit."

"Otherwise?" the Scarred Brow player asked. "What happens if we don’t give it to you?"

The sticker doll paused, seemingly thinking, before saying, "The coverage area of the Shivering Rain hasn’t reached the station, so no one will disembark for the next two days. We’re about to reach lights out, and if you don’t hand over everything before then, my friends and I will randomly select a lucky car to have intimate contact with the Aliens during the next night."

"Friendly tip: from 1 AM to 3 AM, the train will shuttle through a region densely populated with Aliens."

Having said this, the sticker doll tore open its stomach, gesturing for them to place the props and White Bills inside.

"Only ten minutes left," the Buzz Cut player reminded everyone.

The hijackers evidently knew this train’s route well; the claim of no one disembarking for two days and spending two hours in an Alien-infested area might not be false. So they had two choices: either comply with the hijackers’ demands for the next two days or refuse and see if they become the "lucky car" tonight.

Six props and One Million White Bills aren’t much, especially among ten people, but obviously, no one wanted to take the loss, so silence prevailed.

"I want to see if they can blow up the car!" Skyward Braid angrily exclaimed, "Even if they can, they’re in the train too. Aren’t they afraid of making a mess?"

This statement only served to console oneself; the hijackers surely wouldn’t foolishly involve their own people in the process.

"Isn’t there a better way?" the shirt woman asked. "Instead of passively waiting for them to strike, why don’t we find the hijackers ourselves?"

"What if our car doesn’t have any hijackers?" the Scarred Brow player asked. "Mutual suspicion could lead to a vicious cycle."

"It’s not about killing anyone; rational analysis should lead to mutual understanding among us," the shirt woman was determined to root out the hijackers hidden among them, with a tone suggesting suspicion if anyone disagreed. "Actually, I think it shouldn’t be hard to identify the hijackers. I have a suspect in mind. What are your thoughts?"

There were currently eleven people in the car.

Xu Huo, the shirt woman, the Scarred Brow man, the Fire Borrowing woman player and her new boyfriend Buzz Cut, Skyward Braid, the Hat player who boarded with Xu Huo, and two other male players: one missing a little finger on the right hand and one with a black spot on his face. Plus, two older male players guarding the front car door, one calling himself Brother Yang and the other Big Ear.

The dead strong man and tank top woman had already been thrown into the transition car.

The shirt woman scanned everyone, her gaze finally landing on Skyward Braid, deliberately asking, "What do you think?"

"No way, you’re still suspicious of me." Skyward Braid looked aggrieved, "Wasn’t it already clarified? That female player never drank my liquor, and didn’t he drink it too? He’s fine as well!"

"It’s hard to fail to kill someone, but easy to spare someone you can kill," the shirt woman said, "What’s strange about killing one while sparing another? Your excuse was terrible; careless people don’t become advanced players."

With growing suspicion from everyone, Skyward Braid quickly declared, "It’s definitely not me!"

As he spoke, the lights in the car suddenly went out, plunging everyone into darkness.

"Don’t move!" the shirt woman’s voice rang out in the dark, "Whoever makes a move now is an accomplice of the hijackers!"

In fact, the players were just being cautious; those evolved to see in the dark could discern events in the car, but not as conveniently as in daylight. Players who couldn’t see at night had prepared night vision devices, and everyone’s situation was roughly the same.

"No one will move," the Fire Borrowing woman player mocked, "But you jump around like you’re afraid we won’t start fighting."

The shirt woman glanced at her, "Don’t provoke me; I don’t want to argue with anyone, just ensuring everyone’s safety. Or are you all willing to hand over your props and White Bills?"

Everyone fell silent, their gaze collectively turning to the sticker doll in the middle of the car.

It remained in place with its gut open, seemingly waiting to be fed, but its eyes had lost their spark, looking like an ordinary inflatable balloon.

The Hat player tossed a nut from the table into its belly.

The sticker doll instantly activated, shaking its belly before saying, "I’m sorry, but what you put in isn’t a prop, so it doesn’t count."

"We can’t gather everything you want right now; can you give us a little more time?" Having taped up three windows, Xu Huo returned to the solo room and asked in a negotiating tone.

The Buzz Cut man reacted even faster than the sticker doll, startlingly asking, "When did you come back!"

With the night vision equipment on, Xu Huo quietly asked the sticker doll again, "Can we give it to you tomorrow during the day?"

No one expected him to play the delay tactic, so they quietly awaited the outcome.

Unexpectedly, the sticker doll actually responded, "Oh, how could you do that? Wouldn’t it be better to get it done early and call it a day?"

"But considering our fate on the same train, I can generously give you an extension for one night, but just one night."
