Chapter 251: Chapter 248: Repaying Kindness with Enmity
"Elliana!"
Elliana poked her head out from the door of a car and waved at her. It seemed there was an available seat in the car.
She hurriedly ran toward that direction.
Just as she was about to get in the car, she inadvertently glanced back and saw Lily Clarke struggling to get up after falling to the ground, then falling back down again.
The sand had now become like fog, and Lily was still quite far away from her. If she didn’t get up soon, she might end up dying there!
She shouted to a male staff member inside the car, "Lily fell! Can you... cough cough—!"
Before she could finish her sentence, she began to cough violently, unable to open her eyes.
The wind was so strong that sand was blowing into the car; speaking meant swallowing a mouthful of sand.
Squinting against the wind, the people inside the car shouted at her, "Elliana, hurry up and get in so we can close the door! Quick!"
The wind was so fierce that it was difficult to hear each other speaking unless they were shouting.
So the people in the car couldn’t hear what she said and just kept urging her to get into the car.
Someone grabbed her hand, trying to pull her into the car.
Her voice was naturally drowned out by others. No matter how loudly she shouted, those inside the car could not hear her.
She glanced back again in Lily’s direction; Lily was struggling to get up but seemed injured and remained in place.
Honestly, she was scared too, not wanting to care for Lily. It wasn’t her business.
But at the moment, there was a life in front of her; she couldn’t possibly watch it die without helping!
After making up her mind, she let go of the car door, released the hand pulling her, and ran directly toward Lily.
The people in the car were shocked, "Elliana—what are you doing! Come back!"
This was when another person finally noticed Lily. Elliana had already gotten out of the car, hesitated for a second, and also jumped out.
The wind was really strong now, continuously blowing sand into Elliana’s face, creating some resistance.
She could only squint and run.
When she reached Lily, she quickly grabbed her arm.
"Get up quickly!" With great effort, she helped Lily up just as the other person arrived.
"Elliana, let’s hurry!"
Other cars had already left; there was only that one car left waiting for them.
Lily’s pants were already soaked, and she was trembling with fear. She hadn’t expected Elliana would actually come to help her.
At the side of the car, visibility was so low within a meter that faces couldn’t be seen, and thick sand had invaded the car.
The other person climbed in first and began pulling Lily, but it was clear that there was a problem with Lily’s right foot, causing her to painfully cry out.
"Get in quickly!" Elliana pushed Lily inside with quite a bit of effort.
Lily glanced back in Elliana’s direction, the sand blinding her so she couldn’t see Elliana’s face clearly. Watching Elliana trying to step onto the car, she suddenly had a chilling thought.
If Elliana dies here... would she become the future mistress of the Bennett Family?
By then, no one would dare to show her attitude; she would become someone everyone envied.
With that thought, she decisively lifted her left foot and, in the midst of nobody seeing anyone, kicked Elliana in the face!
Clearly, it was effective.
The others were pulling her into the car, the sandstorm was too strong, and everyone closed their eyes, asking, "Is everyone on board?"
This was merely the wind at the storm’s edge, and it was terrifying enough. If Elliana fell into the sandstorm, it would surely be certain death!
At that moment, Lily’s blood was boiling with a kind of near-maniacal joy and fear, stimulating every nerve in her body. She shouted, "Close the door!"
...
Four hours later.
The film crew had evacuated to a hotel in Frontier City, and everyone’s first thought was to clean themselves thoroughly.
Afterward, they gathered together, chatting about surviving such an ordeal.
Only director Gary Young was frantic.
The person mentioned to him that Elliana hadn’t managed to get on the car.
This realization only dawned after the car had driven away when the other person belatedly noticed Elliana wasn’t there. At that moment, she asked to turn back and search, but the driver refused.
She had caused a commotion in the car and had been tied up!
At this moment, the person was crying uncontrollably in front of Gary Young, unable to utter a complete sentence.
Gary sat dazedly in his seat, his face a mixture of emotions, with fear being most prominently displayed.
How could he explain this to Norman Bennett...
How could he explain this to the police...
Norman Bennett was known to be an incredibly intimidating person, even the tycoons in the business world showed him a kind of fear.
Making someone disappear could be entirely reasonable and legal.
Although he normally wouldn’t harbor fear of Norman Bennett, that was because he knew Norman was not the type to start a killing spree for no reason.
The nickname "King of Hell" was only given after those who angered Norman faced consequences.
And he, because of the desire for realism, had inadvertently led to the death of Norman’s treasured person!
Gary Young suddenly looked at the crying person, realizing that things couldn’t continue this way.
What was most urgent now was to find her quickly!
He then said, "Notify everyone, turn back and look for her!"
At present, the sandstorm had not completely ended, making the search difficult, and most were unwilling to go.
But none of the lead actors hesitated, immediately setting out.
Simultaneously, Gary Young had notified the police and rescue teams in Frontier City.
The last person to be informed was Norman Bennett.
"Mr. Bennett, I’ve notified the rescue team. I..." Gary anticipated Norman’s furious reprimand, yet it didn’t come.
The opposite end simply paused for two seconds, and then the call was disconnected.
North City.
At this moment, Norman had just boarded a plane heading to Frontier City, his frown like an unyielding knot.
His gaze was deep and cold, but there was fear and worry beneath it all.
Perhaps nothing could frighten this man, but Elliana could!
Just an hour before.
Raymond Wood received a call from a few bodyguards, informing Norman that Elliana had gone missing in the desert due to the sandstorm.
"President, private planes require prior application for flight routes!" Raymond hurriedly jogged alongside Norman.
Upon hearing this, Norman said coldly, "Then don’t apply!"
Then, pausing as if remembering something, he added, "Book the nearest flight to Frontier City."
Not only couldn’t he wait for the application process, but not applying meant he might be forcibly taken off midway, which would only delay matters more.
Perhaps his mind was unsettled enough that he’d forgotten even this.
Under such circumstances, he couldn’t maintain the calmness he usually did.
Raymond hesitated for a second before promptly replying, "Yes, President."
The last time Miss Elliana was kidnapped, the President showed the same demeanor, even losing his composure from anxiety.
When Philip Bennett had refused to let Norman leave North City, upon Norman’s departure, the Bennetts directly targeted Melody Harmony, causing it to lose nearly 30 billion.
Yet this money truly meant nothing compared to Miss Elliana.
Arriving at the parking lot, Norman directly took the driver’s seat, making Raymond rush to sit in the passenger seat.
"You don’t need to come with me, get down," Norman commanded coldly.
He hesitated for two seconds and then said, "President, I’ll take you to the airport."
Evidently, the man was unwilling to waste time making him get out, directly flooring the accelerator.
