Chapter 240: Chapter 237: Savanna Windsor
"I don’t have time to lie to you."
Bella heard Elliana Lyle’s assurance, but she didn’t respond immediately.
She was still considering how to say it to maximize her benefit. After weighing the pros and cons for a while, she realized there was nothing to hide.
Even if she revealed everything, it wouldn’t affect her at all.
So, she said, "I saw Savanna Windsor."
"Who?" Elliana didn’t react immediately, only feeling that the name sounded very familiar.
But the next second, her heart sank with a thud. Savanna Windsor belonged to the girl group.
If the missing person was seen by Bella, it meant that Savanna Windsor hadn’t disappeared at all, and Nancy might be with Savanna too.
"Where did you see her? Tell me everything at once," she asked.
Then, Bella began to explain.
It was just this morning.
On Ningyang Road in North City.
This is not the bustling part of North City, but it’s much better than ordinary cities, being an authentic leisure street.
Bella followed the film crew here to shoot because there is a large Qing Dynasty courtyard here with a strong ancient charm.
The owner is an old lady in her seventies, and because of the low price, many crews come here to shoot.
"Okay, okay, everyone take a break, don’t move around, and don’t touch other people’s things." The director clapped and shouted, repeatedly instructing three times, evidently really afraid that they might touch something.
Since Bella was playing a fox, she was wearing an orange-red fur coat, with fluffy decorations even on her head.
In this midsummer, she was unbearably hot.
Taking advantage of the break, she took off the coat, leaving only her short sleeves, and hurried to the window.
Although there wasn’t much wind coming through the ancient wooden window, it was still much cooler than before.
Opposite the window was a not-too-high six-story building, with rusty burglar bars on the small windows, looking quite old.
At this moment, the curtain of a window directly opposite her was drawn open, and a woman poked her head out to look outside, and the two of them just made eye contact like that.
Before she could react, the opposite curtain was pulled shut, and from the outside, the woman seemed to be dragged by someone.
The image of Savanna Windsor appeared before her eyes, and she looked exactly like the woman just now, especially the eyes, she couldn’t be mistaken!
After all, when she was in the girl group, everyone was quite close, living together every day, training together, even brushing teeth and washing face together.
So she definitely couldn’t be wrong.
She couldn’t imagine why Savanna Windsor would appear here. She clearly remembered that Savanna Windsor was missing.
"Alright, everyone get ready, we’ll start in three minutes!"
The director’s shouts interrupted her thoughts and brought her spirit back.
With no time to think, she too had to get back to filming first.
Six o’clock in the afternoon.
The crew wrapped up early today, a rare occurrence, but she never forgot about the woman in the window; she had to go and find her!
But she immediately squashed this idea; she couldn’t take the risk of doing so. Thinking it over, she decided to go back and ask the grandma at the old house.
"Grandma."
"Hm? Did you leave something behind?" Seeing her turn back, the gray-haired grandmother leaned on a cane and stood up from her chair.
She thought for a moment and then said, "Yes, I wanted to ask you, what is the building behind your window? I dropped something under your window."
"Oh dear, coming to me won’t help, my house was remodeled by my son, there’s no back door."
The old lady’s words were clearly of no use to her, so she directly asked, "Do you know which shop is connected to that building?"
Due to the complexity of the street, she really couldn’t find it from outside.
The grandma habitually looked back, although there was just a wall behind her, she said, "I don’t know what building it is. It used to be on the street, but a taller building was built later that enclosed it."
"How do I get to that building then?"
"You go into the alley by that... what’s it called, teahouse, and there’s an alley you can enter from."
Apparently, this grandma, who seldom left the house nowadays, didn’t know much either, so it seemed she really had to check it out herself.
After buying a mask from a pharmacy, she searched for the teahouse on the street, and after circling several times, she finally saw a big sign for the Ming Gong Teahouse.
Next to the teahouse was a large hotel called Red Mansion, which seemed very upscale, with seven or eight welcoming staff members, each a beauty.
Between them was a passageway, clearly the direction to the building.
Once she went in, the first thing she saw was the window of the old house, and the building she saw was connected to Red Mansion.
It’s like two buildings, one tall and one short, merged together, and after circling the base of the building, she found no entrance, so obviously the entrance was in Red Mansion.
And this building looked like an abandoned one, with the windowsills on the first floor covered in thick dust, clearly from being uninhabited for a long time.
Since the entrance was in the place connected to Red Mansion, it meant that Savanna Windsor she saw came from inside Red Mansion!
Thinking of this, she decided to leave quickly, as this was not something she could handle.
...
After hearing what Bella said, Elliana asked, "You mean Savanna Windsor is in Red Mansion?"
Bella replied, "I don’t know, you go see for yourself, I couldn’t find the entrance."
If she couldn’t find the entrance, then the way into the building must be through Red Mansion!
And what kind of place this Red Mansion is, what’s its background, she couldn’t understand just from Bella’s account.
And she was leaving tomorrow, plus Norman Bennett had arranged bodyguards for her, so she couldn’t go out to check, while Luna and Andrew Hue were in South City.
"Alright, I’ve said everything, don’t forget your promise." Bella’s tone was obviously a bit distrustful.
So this was a deliberate reminder.
Since she had promised, she would never go back on her words, but she felt vexed at the moment, so she said, "We’ll talk later, hanging up."
"Hey? You..."
Beep———!
After hanging up the phone, she walked to the windowsill, pressing her whole face against the cold glass window.
This made her feel a bit better.
Savanna Windsor is a missing person, so it seems this matter should be dealt with by the police.
But she also feared that doing so might alert the enemy, and if they found nothing by then, wouldn’t it be a waste of this clue?
Moreover, she’s not sure if what Bella said is true, so she has to investigate to make a decision.
Luna and Andrew are not around, and Tommy and others can’t be relied on, as they are not in this line of work. After much thought, she decided to ask Norman Bennett.
At this moment, the man was in the study next door. After knocking on the door, she went in.
The man was on the phone, speaking in a tone that suggested he was talking to Raymond Wood.
"What’s wrong?" Seeing her rush in, the man immediately put down the phone from his ear.
The situation was urgent, so she didn’t care about anything else and directly said, "Norman Bennett, I have something important to tell you."
As soon as she finished speaking, the man hung up Raymond Wood’s call without hesitation.
After hearing what she had to say, the man told her, "I’ll have someone investigate first." Perhaps worried she might do something, he specifically instructed, "You are not to get involved, understand?"
She didn’t have the time to get involved anyway, so she obediently nodded and said, "Mm, I won’t get involved."
