Chapter 1029: Blood Reaper [Bonus]
[2.3 years after Kent entered Hell and dived into the Damned Hell Sea]
The rule of the jungle that says, ’the strong take all,’ is perhaps an undisputed rule.
This rule is not merely words spoken to instill fear in the weak and lower class.
It is a rule that governs the kingdoms of beasts, demons, and even humans.
In fact, if one takes the universe into perspective, no world would want its leader to be extremely weak. They would want their leader to be able to stand firm and face danger head-on without fear.
They would want their leader to lead them to victory and back.
They would want their leader to be a symbol that many would look up to. The authority that cannot be disobeyed. The pillar that cannot be broken easily.
Of course, low-level worlds with no cultivation can have weaker leaders. But even in such weaker worlds, a pack of wolves has the Alpha.
In a way, this rule is universal, and even deep in the unforgiving trenches of Hell, this rule is taken to heart.
This is why, for three months, a threat none of the Damned Hell beasts saw coming arrived, and none was able to resist him.
Kent spent two years reaching the borders of the Inner Layer simply because he was training to bolster his strength. He took it slowly and steadily... ever cautious.
However, not anymore...
The past three months have been him speeding toward the depths of the Damned Hell Sea. Initially, when he had just entered the Inner Layer, none of the Damned Hell beasts tried to challenge his authority.
They may be strong and deadly, but not stupid enough to throw their lives away. In fact, the feeling of helplessness was what they all felt when Kent was passing through.
However, as he moved deeper, some started blocking him.
Kent, of course, welcomed them. After all, he was after both blood and reaching the depths of the Damned Hell Sea.
So when they attacked, he retaliated in kind.
The least he used was a swing of his sword, and that would be all.
Whenever a beast dies, its blood is drained, leaving only its bony skeleton behind.
As he headed deeper, more beasts started coming at him. However, as more continued to die, their blood sucked dry, the legend of the Blood Reaper was born and started to spread.
Kent discovered that while in the Outer Layer, he was mindlessly attacked. As he headed deeper into the Inner Layer, the Damned Hell beasts weren’t as crazy and hungry to throw their lives away.
In fact, the Damned Hell Beasts he was encountering now were much more intelligent.
But even so, some continued to come at him, allowing him to spread his name as the Blood Reaper. In a span of three months, his name had reached far and wide, allowing him to move like a Tyrant through the Inner Layer.
---
[Three more months later (2.6 years after he entered hell)]
[We are nearing the Core Layer,] Gaap said.
Kent, who was standing on it, nodded. "So far, I am convinced the danger level would be less, considering I have already carved my name through the Inner Layer."
Kent smiled.
[That is only to be expected. After all, after 120,000 battles, we emerged victorious, earning you a tyrannical name that I am sure will spread to the outside once we come out.]
"Indeed. This time, I think we have earned more than we bargained for."
[More than we could, hehe... The quality of the resentful blood essence is better than in the Outer Layer. I think I will be able to form the Resentful Blood Seal this time around and even have more to use on other things.]
"Same here. This time around, I will fully cultivate the first form of the Primal Bone Tempering Art."
During the time they spent making a name for themselves through the Inner Layer, Kent and Gaap bonded over their shared love for blood.
It was through this blood bond that Gaap learned Kent was a True Primordial and the reincarnation of the Primordial Chaos Dragon.
Learning these two things about him raised Kent’s image in his heart by several degrees.
[I still can’t believe you are the Primordial Chaos Dragon,] Gaap said, knowing it would take some time to get used to this discovery.
Kent smiled and then turned to his left.
"We have a visitor," Kent said, coming to a halt.
Right then, a green shark appeared before him, its large mouth lined with razor-sharp teeth, opened wide in an attempt to swallow the tiny demi-dragon whole.
However, before it could salivate, Kent swung his clawed hand, manifesting four large claw arcs. They moved with so much primal blood energy, cleaving through its body.
It was severed into four different halves.
Without even wasting much time, Gaap drained the blood, and they were on their way.
That is how easy it had become for Kent to kill the Damned Hell beasts now.
A week later, they entered the Core Layer, where, from the moment they entered, Kent could feel his soul flame start to react excitedly with the flame around him.
Though the Nirvana Flames cannot be used, he still has his Chaos Soul Flame to rely on. Additionally, he began to feel that his flame resistance would soon break through to the Transcendent Stage.
Naturally, he welcomed these changes.
However, something started to bug him.
Despite the Damned Hell Sea being a Primordial flame, his perfect flame immunity allowed him to resist the heat through to the Core Layer.
That wasn’t something he saw happening. However, now that he is in the Core Layer and could still move freely, he saw that perhaps his flame resistance is much stronger than others.
’Maybe it’s because of the flame veins and my body cultivation.’
[Several guests are headed our way,] Gaap said, looking at the dozens of beasts coming through the Soul Map. Kent had shared it with him so he could see everything.
’I was able to see them only when I reached 20,000 km. It seems that the deeper I went, the more flawed the Soul Map became.’
Kent sighed as he came to a halt and this time took the sword...
’Thankfully, it is still powerful enough to sense them at least.’
Twenty-four beasts lunged at Kent, who smiled and raised the sword...
"Endless Sword Arcs Domain."
HUMMMMMM
The sword hummed, and thousands of sword arcs formed from Blood Sword Arc and powered by the Blood Death Seal surged out, sounding like bees...
The beasts that were closer to Kent were shredded, and those far away were reduced to a near-death state. Naturally, with a wave of his hand, swords surged out, killing them in an instant.
[You’ve never used this sword technique before,] Gaap said, absorbing the blood from their kill.
"That’s because I want to make a statement, and using a sword technique from Lord Genesis is perfect for that."
[So we are being watched.]
"Indeed. I believe we will face more of these guys before meeting the true mastermind," Kent smirked. Although he couldn’t see the being watching them through his Soul Map, his Heavenly Jade Eyes could tell he was being watched.
However, he didn’t care because he knew no matter what, the being would never be stronger than him.
[I guess, as you say, it is time for us to farm more blood.]
"I guess so. But since I earned the name Blood Reaper, we can change the phrase to ’Time to reap more blood.’"
[That works fine with me.]
Kent arrived in the Core Layer, and with him, blood followed.
