The main body of the Marsh Museum is not very large. During the Golden Era, it served only as an observation post and ecological zone core, with a total of only three layers. The hidden third layer was a clue given to Murphy by the King of Bone Biting.

Despite its small size, this place is fully equipped.

Basically, every function Murphy could think of or couldn’t think of is here. For instance, he and Triss discovered during their last “visit” to the private bathroom that it surprisingly had a massage function. Moreover, after the hidden third layer’s biological laboratory was restarted, the elevator, originally only descending to Layer 1, unlocked new slots, enabling further descent.

Three vampires and a Wolf Person stood inside the elevator filled with futuristic styles, a strange combination mismatched with the surroundings, staring up as the elevator’s digits advanced to “-1.”

With a soft ding, the elevator doors silently slid open, revealing a pitch-black glass corridor ahead.

Murphy stepped out first, and as he stepped onto the first piece of glass, the surrounding lights clicked on, as if unseen hands were pushing forward, illuminating the entire glass bridge, allowing the darkness beneath the Earth’s crust to reveal its luminescent glow.

He gazed across the surroundings. Huge silver-gray machinery operated in silence, yet filled with a rhythmic mechanical vibe. Especially the exposed gigantic devices, though immense in size, possessed an odd “precision” feeling.

It’s as if drilling machines and excavators driven into the crust are extracting some energy from the magma below, or perhaps mechanical giants dipping their feet into magma for rest.

“So, is this place actually powered by geothermal energy? It seems everything that appears unscientific, upon deeper deconstruction, is all related to energy.”

Murphy thought upon seeing the reddish magma pools at the bottom:

“The elevator has no scale to determine how deep this place is, but seeing the mantle layer’s magma, a conservative estimate would place us at least a dozen kilometers below the surface. Every time I see these Creator Era relics, I feel I’m living in a science fiction world.

But once we leave here, we still have to face the myriad of troubles brought by the unscientific nature of Spiritual Energy.”

“The depth we’ve reached underground here already rivals the Eternal Abyss and the Dark Territory. It’s truly unimaginable.”

Triss followed behind Murphy.

She touched the fully transparent glass bridge and confirmed the general position with her psychic perception, whispering:

“According to the legends of the Shadow Elves, our world harbors an ‘Inner World’ beneath the surface, with the so-called Dark Territory merely a transit point on the way to that Inner Earth World.

During my travels in the City of Shadow Elves, I always heard them using exaggerated language, describing that buried within the hidden world lies relics and power from another era. Yet those arrogant Shadow Elves never dared venture too deeply there, as they are a decadent and cowardly bunch.

I suspect, the mythical stories they spoke of probably describe devices similar to those left by the creator, similar to what lies before us.

Clearly, the divine spirit who created the world left behind far more than we imagined, but he chose an entirely different method to interpret the mysteries of this world.

Perhaps Spiritual Energy isn’t the only answer.”

“Spiritual Energy might even be a wrong answer. At least the King of Bone Biting believes so, but the issue is, Spiritual Energy has pervaded this world for so long that we, and indeed the whole world, have been permanently altered.

Clearly, this world hasn’t evolved according to the creator’s blueprint. If that divine spirit returns here someday, he would likely be disappointed.”

Murphy said somewhat wistfully. Triss merely shook her head, lost in thought over those gigantic machines dipping into the magma, pondering what the Crimson Witch might be thinking.

Hog and Palano did not respond.

The former was awe-struck by the immense divinity of the machinery that appeared before him, seemingly holding up the Earth itself, while the latter busied himself recording his observations and feelings in his notebook.

Even for someone like him, a Golden One, it’s not every day he gets to tour the realm of creation, and he must document these fantastical experiences not found in mortal objects, to have more material to woo the goddesses he holds dear.

These are essentials for honing the perfect pure-love knight!

The end of the glass bridge leads to the restarted biological laboratory, a secret chamber nestled within the rock. Its interior style matches the visitor’s hall, very minimalistic yet futuristic, with many mysterious instruments encased in pure white shells.

In the center of the circular room stands an upright main control console, where commands can be issued.

As the four entered, the assistant beetle No.2 of the curator had already completed the preparation and debugging of the bio capsule, next to it sat an authentication device, both having completed data linking, now awaiting the start of the binding ritual.

“Strip and get inside!”

Murphy pointed at the standby bio capsule, patting the bewildered Hog on the shoulder, gently saying:

“Don’t be afraid. According to Felix, this ritual is absolutely safe. You won’t be harmed as long as you’re not a Half-body Man disguised as a Wolf Person. So Hog, if you really are a Half-body Man, now is the time to shed this remarkably accurate skin suit and beg for forgiveness.”
