Chapter 879: Show of Ultimate Power 1
His claws crushed the heart tightly, and it exploded with a loud bang, blood flying through the scene.
The second it exploded, the Frost Wyvern took its last breath and died immediately.
Even in death, his eyes remained wide open in shock at Ryuk, who gave him the same deadpan expression, before his hands moved and he snapped his fingers.
SNAP
The echo rippled with energy, and all the Frost Wyverns forcibly halted in the air regained their freedom, but this time, they didn’t move an inch.
They looked from the corpse of the one who ought to be the strongest, slain in one strike before he could even react... and then back to Ryuk.
Icy droplets of cold sweat rolled down their faces.
Ryuk, of course, noticed the change in the room and was a bit perplexed by it.
He had expected everything to immediately blow up into chaos, with attacks flying left and right.
He was annoyed enough to deal with them now, yet here they were, those who had harbored nefarious intent toward him, hanging obediently where they were and even trying not to breathe too hard.
"So fear it is, huh?"
A smirk of realization appeared on his lips, but it paused as he looked down at his arms, finding Isha muttering.
"He’s Dungeon Priest, Sir Alloid Lohan, and one of the Lower Wyverns greatly respected by the Royal Wyverns."
"Now, they will come and find you..." she said, her body shivering slightly.
The sight made Ryuk’s eyebrows crease.
It was the first time he saw Isha shivering in such fear when danger was not even in sight, and even more, while she was in his arms.
Yet it did not stop her fear.
[Seems like whoever she referred to as ’they’ must have cast quite the omnipotent shadow in her heart.]
[Enough to wipe out the feeling of safety she ought to feel from being beside you.]
’So, it’s like she was greatly frightened by something?’
[Not just something. A power far beyond her...] the system corrected, and Ryuk’s feet began to hover off the ground.
He stretched his claws toward one of the Frost Wyverns, who immediately froze up.
"Tell me..." Ryuk said, and the Frost Wyvern noticed the young man’s hair shift from white to a complete pink, surrounded by dots of purple.
"Where exactly do these ’Royals’ stay?"
He asked, watching as the Frost Wyvern shakily turned its head to the side.
"Good."
He muttered, his eyes changing from shimmering purple to brilliant pink, and he turned to eye each of the Wyverns.
"Now, all of you come with me,"
The instant he gave the order, all seven of the Frost Wyverns in the room had their silvery eye color change to a bright pink,
Immediately after, they began hovering robotically and followed Ryuk, who moved up, bursting through the roof.
When he appeared in the sky, he exploded like the sun, brilliant arcs of pink devouring the entire area for thousands of kilometers.
Immediately, every Frost Wyvern in the region looked at the unnatural halo, and that look sealed their fate.
All of their eyes turned pink.
The humanoid ones were forcibly stripped of their transformations, reverting to beastly form.
Those in caves came out, rising into the air.
The scene of more than a hundred thousand Frost Wyverns gathered around a single silhouette, all their eyes shining with the same pink glow, was more than perturbing.
"What are you doing?" Isha whispered in his arms, looking around her at the congregation of Frost Wyverns.
She looked into their eyes and saw nothing.
No emotions, no feelings... nothing at all.
It was like they had been robbed of their souls, or something had switched them off and replaced them.
When she turned to look at Ryuk’s pink eyes, it occurred to her what was happening.
"You’ll see it all soon, Isha," Ryuk said, flashing her a smile, and for a second, she saw it, deep in his eyes.
The image of a ginormous being standing in an ocean of white flames, with teeth grinding in fiery rage.
Ryuk took a step forward, and all the Frost Wyverns in the Lower side of the Wyvernoid Kingdom moved.
Their presence cast a shadow that spread toward that part of the Kingdom: An unreal part of it, the very air utterly different from the Lower side.
They were divided by a wall covered in silvery-white energy, and immediately, horns were blown, loudly resonating through the entire Royal area of the Wyvernoid Kingdom.
What followed were numerous humanoid beings rising swiftly into the air, their eyes narrowing in disbelief at the scene before them.
Such a scene... only they could have done this.
Half a kilometer away from the dividing wall, Ryuk raised his hand, and the hundreds of thousands of Frost Wyverns behind him all opened their maws.
Frost brewed within them, each Wyvern pouring the maximum energy they could unleash into one attack, and the next moment, his hand fell.
Immediately, hundreds of thousands of Frost Balls rained down upon the walls.
The Wyvernoid guards who stood on the walls could only stare blankly at the raging Frost Balls.
Their senses were so overwhelmed by the sight that any thought of defense vanished. All they could do was watch as the barrage inched closer, carrying enough power to instantly erase the walls and them along with it.
Yet, just before the Frost Balls bombarded the walls, a total of five beings stepped out into the sky.
All held each other’s hands, leaving two free at the ends, and quickly, space rippled as a runic symbol appeared, morphing to form a white portal.
From the depths of the portal, the gigantic phantom of a Wyvernic head appeared out of from its depths.
The head opened up its maw, unleashing a terrifying absorption force that dragged all the approaching Frost Balls’ attacks into it.
It devoured everything, leaving nothing in the air.
Yet under the force of the attacks, it cracked, shattered apart, and dissolved into snow that drifted down from the sky.
The attack of hundreds of thousands of Frost Wyverns was effortlessly thwarted by just five beings.
