Chapter 761: Chapter 392: Omens, Simultaneously (Part 2)
"Legion Level..."
Ronan’s gaze flickered.
In Tangista, only a Level 6 Wizard is qualified to command an army.
Since Juventus can clash with a Level 6 Wizard, does that mean his combat power is already enough to rival Level 6?
And he had just barely advanced to Level 5 Wizard not long ago, the Eight-Star Elemental Spirit...
"I wonder how many of Heramus’s legacies Juventus has gathered now?"
Ronan reread the information on the paper, finding there was rather little about the Destiny Empire. The only piece that drew his attention was that recently, a large-scale Spell Mist rose in the north of the Destiny Empire, and all caravans and Wizards had been prohibited from passing through that area.
The north of Destiny Empire, precisely opposite the Tangista Empire, is separated by just a single river...
"Whew—"
Ronan exhaled lightly, carefully putting away the two pieces of parchment, then greeted Benny before leaving the Mist Space.
If chaos really erupts and catastrophe descends upon the entire Upper Ring Continent, he would be powerless to stop it. All he could do was strive to strengthen himself for protection.
Retracing his steps, Ronan passed through the ancient long corridor and stopped in front of the room he had chosen for closed-door practice.
Turning his head, the small door leading to Prophet Eve’s location was just five or six meters away.
Ronan paced over slowly, placing five fingers lightly on the small door’s ring.
The metal door ring conveyed a cold and delicate sensation to his fingertips, as if allowing him to eavesdrop on the hidden whispers inside the room.
"Is Prophet Eve speaking with that royal member from the Life Court right now?"
Ronan’s eyes flickered.
Moments later, he removed his hand from the door ring, turned away with a calm expression, abandoning the thought of pushing the door open to investigate.
But just as he took a few steps toward his room, a faint opening sound came from behind.
"Creak—"
Ronan abruptly turned around, seeing the small door, which had been tightly closed, now softly open a thin crack, the gap emitting a faint light as if silently inviting him in.
Ronan squinted, staring fixedly in the direction of the door crack, but after several breaths, he turned away expressionlessly, not glancing back at the small door, and went straight inside his room.
Once Ronan left, a faint sigh echoed through the empty and quiet corridor.
And then the slightly ajar small door silently closed again, as if it had never been opened.
....
Ronan sat quietly on the ground facing the Star Map, his mind entering a semi-meditative state, with the black dandelion in "Spirit Heart Amber" reflecting in his mind.
He planned to reach the limit of a Level 4 Wizard in one go, then use the Awakening Potion to cleanse the impurities from his soul before preparing to break through to Level 5.
Now, the plan was barely a third complete, so the practice of "Reincarnation and Dreams" had to continue.
As always, Ronan gently touched the black dandelion in his mind with his spiritual power, waiting patiently for a petal to fall at random.
However, this time the situation was a bit different.
A portion of soul power naturally flowed out, and then points of silver light began to gather and form within the Consciousness Space.
Before Ronan could react, he noticed a tiny silver snake "in front" of him.
Though it was called a snake, its size was more akin to a worm or even an earthworm.
"Soul Projection?!"
Ronan started, not expecting [Soul Projection] to activate on its own at this time.
And unlike casting it in the outside world, when projected into his Consciousness Space, it manifested as a silver snake, akin to a soul avatar.
Ronan immediately thought of the golden beetle representing Alazan’s soul.
"It seems this avatar’s form is connected to the soul characteristics of each individual..."
Ronan pondered, directing the silver snake to slowly land upon the black dandelion.
In an instant, the entire black dandelion swayed like it was blown by the wind, with countless slender black petals silently curling.
Simultaneously, countless vague and fragmented images flitted across Ronan’s mind.
The silver snake laboriously traversed the dandelion petals, parting them one by one. Finally, when it turned over a certain petal, it seemed to have exhausted its strength, biting onto a petal as it fell with it from the dandelion.
Ronan also descended into a deep slumber.
But unlike every previous Dream Entry, Ronan did not immediately wake up in the dream.
Instead, he seemed to dwell in a half-dreaming, half-awake state, where he seemed to hear the "tick, tick" of dripping water coming from a far distance, and then saw the silver snake representing his soul in the darkness, arduously wriggling onwards, ever onwards...
"What do we do? We haven’t figured out this area’s condition yet, and the newly-arrived Waterway Supervision Officer has already fainted. Are we continuing?"
"Didn’t someone remind him that he needed to maintain the Defense Shield here at all times? Did you give him the Detoxification Potion?"
"Yes, and by our calculations, it should have taken effect by now... sigh..."
Voices whispered and murmured, gradually amplifying around him.
Ronan struggled to open his eyes, seeing an overhead view of a dim, stalactite-covered cave, with cold droplets falling from the ceiling, one by one, onto the wooden board beside him.
’Why is this Dream Entry so arduous this time?’
Ronan’s mind was a chaotic mess, feeling that different scenes kept flashing before his eyes.
One moment, it was the cave’s stalactite ceiling, another, the Star Map wall in his real-life solitary room.
The scenes switched back and forth, interspersed with images of the silver snake crawling through the darkness, causing Ronan to suffer a throbbing headache, unable to stop a groan from escaping.
"He’s awake! He’s awake!"
The voices nearby instantly fell silent, replaced by cries of excitement, followed by rapid footfalls hurrying over. But Ronan’s world darkened once more, and he fainted again.
"Whoosh—"
Suddenly Ronan’s eyes snapped open, revealing the dim and damaged Star Map before him.
"This is..."
Ronan immediately stood up, looking around, his expression gradually twisting into something unpleasant.
"Dream Entry failed?!"
He distinctly remembered withdrawing from the "Reincarnation Dreams," back into reality once more!
This had never happened before; although "Spirit Heart Amber" had officially reached entry-level, why had Dream Entry become so fraught with difficulties instead?
Ronan’s brow furrowed tight as he calmed down, sitting again to attempt another Dream Entry.
However, after trying, a curious expression began to grow on his face.
In the empty, silent room, Ronan sat quietly in a meditation-like posture in the center.
A moment later, he opened his eyes, then closed them again...
After repeating this several times, Ronan seemed to finally confirm something and slowly stood up from the floor.
"Indeed, it’s possible."
Ronan’s eyes shone with new light as he murmured, "After reaching entry-level with ’Spirit Heart Amber,’ I can use the effect of Soul Projection to switch my consciousness freely between dream and reality...
No longer must I, as before, close off from the world, secluded for months or even longer, every time I enter a dream."
All along, Ronan’s greatest problem with cultivating "Spirit Heart Amber" was the necessity for extended secluded practice.
He had to be entirely undisturbed, unable even to maintain communication with the outside world or handle basic tasks like feeding himself.
Now, that problem had been perfectly solved.
Upon entering "Spirit Heart Amber," Ronan could enter dreams through a Soul Projection, with his conscious mind freely switching between reality and dreams.
Moreover, this practice no longer consumed real-world time, allowing him freedom from any disturbance and even retaining some autonomy over bodily functions like eating.
"No wonder that when Alazan was healing and asleep, he could still impart the Ancient Spirit Text to me..."
Ronan mused, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Practicing "Spirit Heart Amber" no longer took up real-world time, enabling him to progress without interruption.
And so, if he could utilize Soul Projection to enter dreams, with his consciousness freely switching between dream and reality...
In this state, he could continue his practice without any hindrance from the outside world while still managing daily necessities.
Now, this issue had found a perfect solution.
After the "Spirit Heart Amber" practice officially commenced, Ronan could enter dreams as a soul projection, with his true consciousness switching freely between the two, removing previous restrictions.
