Chapter 361: Overseer’s Station
Haunson grunted as he hobbled in and the other four occupants of the room laughed. "What the hell happened to you, Helium Haun?" That must be a nickname for Haunson, an amusing one at that.
"Got shot by a new person in our district. That White bitch basically bent over for him. I swear at this point just about anyone could bend that woman over and she would forgive them and thank them for the fucking." Haunson grunted as he moved to a chair and sat down.
"Well not for much longer. The others agreed to your proposal and we are preparing to take over from the district bosses. They are far too soft." A man with a croaky voice agreed. "I mean have you gotten to try White’s whore yet?"
Haunson grinned and chuckled, "and then some. I actually made an arrangement for after this as well. Whore will be bouncing on my cock no matter how much she is disgusted with me."
Okay this had officially worn out as interesting. He was hoping they would talk about something useful. But it was clear they were not going to.
So he adjusted his position and then pushed off the roof and pushed the vent grate down on top of one of the room’s five occupants. There was a wet splattering as their head was crushed and blood splashed around the area. The dead body spasmed for a moment as it took a moment for the rest of him to realize he was dead.
Before it even stopped he was in front of Haunson and kicking him. Sending him flying into the wall. It dented under the force of the impact while Haunson spit up blood before going unconscious. Jace had aimed for knocking him out instead of killing him.
Then he went to the next person after he already drew his knife. Slicing through the man’s head as he reached for his sidearm. A line of blood appeared before the top part of his head slid off and he was dead.
Jace was onto the next one. This one was reacting the quickest as he had already drawn his laser pistol. But Jace just sliced through it and his hand. His mouth opened up to scream but never to the chance as Jace sliced through his throat. Then he sliced back through the man’s head taking off the top part of his head.
The last man had ample time to react but he seemed to reach for something on the wrong leg before he froze. Jace had taken the moment to slice through the man’s head and watch as he fell to the ground. Jace stared at the body for a moment as red liquid leaked from the wound on the man.
Then after a moment Jace frowned as looked closer. It was literally a red liquid, it was not blood exposed to the air. It was a red liquid to make it look like there was blood. This was not a human body.
More importantly it was faking being dead. "I know you are not dead, if you want to mimic human anatomy you need far more practice." Jace said out loud as he walked to the overseer terminal. He quickly began interacting with it as he kept an eye on the body as it began waving and rippling like the entire thing was liquid.
Then it formed and pulled together into a white blob. "Most humans would have thought they just killed a person and moved on. How did you know I was faking it?" The blob asked as it began waving back and forth as it took on a humanoid appearance.
"Several reasons but most importantly. I could tell when I sliced through you that something was wrong." Jace answered as he finished setting up. "White get your people inside. I am about to lock the doors." Jace told the others over the comm unit. Then watched as they stormed inside the room. There was no one around their door for the moment.
Jace saw Mistress White give him a thumbs up. "We are all good. Go ahead and lock it down." Jace tapped a button and all of the doors leading into and out of the dock locked. Even the ventilation shaft he entered from had closed with a solid metal plate sealing it.
Jace turned to see the white blob had taken a mannequin-like form. "I am guessing you are not just going to let me out?" The creature asked with some type of vibration in its voice. Jace had heard something similar yesterday when he was followed by those Victorium Military Police.
"Nope." Jace shook his head. He then flipped his knife before dashing forward. It took a fighting stance and moved like liquid around him as he cut toward the creature’s heart. Earlier he did not realize it was not a human because he had only been looking for the faint electrical signals along a person’s skin. But now as it moved around him he knew this creature would fight more like its species than any human.
It tried to wrap around his leg but Jace kicked off the floor again to propel himself again then turned as the blob-like creature moved toward the terminal. Jace dashed across the room again and sliced this time making contact as it was distracted with trying to work the console. Not that it would work, Jace had locked out the system so only a single code would even allow them to operate it.
Jace sliced through it a few times but it just kept reforming unbothered by Jace’s attack. Jace jumped back as he tried to figure out a way to affect this creature. Using his knife would not hurt them and trying to attack with a punch probably would not affect them either.
He focused and activated his electrical vision. The moment he did he could see the creature’s outline again but this time among the white blob near what would be typically called the abdomen was a ball of energy that was sending faint electrical signals throughout the rest of the blob.
"How annoying..." The creature stopped trying to work on the console and turned to him. "It seems I am going to need to capture and torture you for the method to unlock the doors. Humans are clever in the most annoying ways." Jace could honestly not tell if it was impressed with him or annoyed by his existence.
But Jace was strangely satisfied that he would not be ignored anymore.
