Chapter 381: Chapter 380- New features
Late at night, Adrian could be seen sitting on the ground, inside the forest, his eyes closed as he tried to concentrate.
Ever since he had ’died’ he has started to feel something different about his magical capabilities.
In the past, the mana inside and around him felt like a blanket, a comforter. Something he could use, he could wrap around himself and when it becomes too warm, he gets uncomfortable.
But now, it feels different—more comfortable and friendly.
Magical energy channeled in his body like blood, natural and fluent like a water stream
It felt better, smoother.
There was no constant struggle to use the mana he had efficiently so that it wouldn’t be exhausted instantly.
He can now manipulate it better, channel it so that he can enhance his strength in any part of the body he wants.
Body Enhancement means strengthening your body, but only those who are beginners can enhance their whole body at once. Those at a higher level can focus on a single limb to create a better and more devastating impact
Adrian was currently trying to achieve that.
He ’saw’ mana flowing inside and outside his body. It might not have a shade, actually, but Adrian felt the nature of his mana was quite peaceful, like water.
It traveled from his Core to his entire body and then started to accumulate on his right hand.
Now, here is the tough part.
When you try to bundle a whole lot of cotton in a single bag, it starts to spill out.
And while cotton doesn’t inflict any damage where it falls, his magic surely does.
*Doom*
"Whoa," Adrian exclaimed as his mana erupted like a small bomb, creating a small hole in the ground, smoke rising from the blackened soil.
Thankfully, there was no one around. He was in the outer perimeter of the school, and at a moderate distance from the security post.
So, unless he caused a massive explosion, he knew he was safe here.
He channeled mana once again, focusing on just his right hand—magical energy started to thrash, swelling as he tried to push it into his right arm.
His brows drew closer, his mind a little chaotic—just then, "You should stop."
He heard a voice...an unknown voice.
He looked around—but found no one.
That voice, he has never heard before.
Yet Adrian didn’t feel alarmed at all.
One must note that it was late evening and the brown-haired man was sitting in the middle of the forest.
However, a mysterious voice didn’t feel alarming at all.
He heaved a sigh, ’Maybe the voice of God,’ he inwardly muttered, and decided to stop.
He still doesn’t know the limit of his emotions. How far could he push himself before he started to lose control?
He was getting used to his new him.
It would take time, but Adrian knew he couldn’t rely on Ariana or hope for a mysterious voice to pull him out every time. That’s why, it’s better to learn from an expert.
’System?’ Adrian called out as he got up on his feet.
[Yes, host. The system is now rebooting. Just a few minutes and you can explore the new features.]
Adrian hummed, getting up from the ground.
He hadn’t been able to access the Dimension Group Chat in these few days as well.
He hoped no emergency had come up while he was away.
Adrian slowly started to walk back to the academy.
He noticed the outer perimeter being built around the academy. Inside the forest were traps provided by the Tower.
’Talking about the Tower...I am sure Albec must be pretty annoyed.’ He provided all the resources Adrian asked for....for nothing.
The whole plan of Aritveil’s ambush plan hit a brick wall. And that wall had a name starting with the letter ’A’.
So yes, Adrian gained a hefty amount of resources in exchange for nothing
While Adrian could argue that he took the resources for the insult he faced during his last two visits to the Tower, he wasn’t that petty. He would make the man a few armaments and artifacts that he might ask for in the future, for free, of course.
Just as Adrian reached the entrance of the academy, intending to go inside and rest, the system pinged the notification,
[All updates are now done! The host is required to be in the Time Chamber to see the new features.]
Adrian eagerly commanded, ’Then bring me there.’
And in an instant, his vision shifted.
The familiar sensation of the floor being pulled away from beneath his feet and his stomach rumbling felt quite sweet.
And in the next instance, he found himself surrounded by the familiar silence—but there was definitely something different about this place.
"Whoa..." Adrian muttered as he looked around.
Previously, he had only access to a small dojo and a weapon rack, along with the small study area where he spent most of his time.
But in addition to that, there were three more areas now unlocked.
On the left side was a library—books and books. More than two hundred books are arranged on shelves and a reading table with a chair.
Now, no more sitting cross-legged on the ground. He can properly read while sitting.
Then, on the southern tip was a workshop.
A long rectangular table, with tools arranged on either side. There were training dolls and a space to store materials.
Adrian knew he would have a great time exploring this area.
But before that..."Oh my..." He was surprised to see a smithing area.
A live furnace, hammers of different sizes, a black anvil on top of the stand, and several weapons arranged in the rack.
"System...are you hinting at something here?"
[The host is required to learn blacksmithing. This necessity was added since your old self was a great blacksmith, and from now on, you would get requests to forge a weapon, then refine it, and then tune it. So yes, the host needs to focus on his craftsmanship more]
Adrian wryly smiled, ’Damn....more work.’
After exploring a bit, he asked, ’Now tell me what other features you have got.’
[World Transfer: The Host can visit the worlds of other members within the Dimensional Chat. However, the Host is forbidden from taking any items unrelated to his designated work between worlds.]
[Transfer Cooldown: 3 Days]
[Transfer Duration: 18 Hours]
Adrian leaned back in his chair, quietly humming as he studied the new information displayed on the screen. The World Transfer wasn’t the only feature that had been unlocked—several new functions had appeared as well.
There was now a System Screen Modification, a Directory, and even a Storage Space—a pocket dimension separated from the Time Chamber, designed purely for keeping items.
Curious, Adrian began experimenting. Using the Screen Modification feature, he removed the old *stats window* entirely and replaced it with something far more useful: a Spell Record—a log capable of tracking every spell he could use, along with his proficiency in each elemental type.
He also decided to remove the *mana count* from the system. It no longer made sense to track it. His mana wasn’t something that could be measured anymore—not after his recent transformation.
As a descendant of a witch, Adrian didn’t just generate magic from his Hub—the core of his brain where mana formed—he could also *absorb* energy directly from his surroundings. The air, the ground, even the faint hum of ether in space itself—all of it could feed his power.
In short, his mana pool had no fixed limit. It was tied to his affinity and stamina, not a number on a screen.
So he left that stat blank.
There was no point in measuring infinity.
About the Directory, then he can store information about anything and use it later like a dictionary.
He can only save up to a limited amount of information, but the storage was quite huge, so it was a huge benefit.
Then comes the storage, then it was good that the system understood how necessary it was for Adrian to have a specific storage.
While fighting, he has to rush in and out of the Time Chamber several times to bring out his weapon and other tools.
While doing so, he messes things up here, and later it becomes hectic.
So yes, this was a huge plus.
After a brief pause, he finally opened the chat.
’Let’s see-woah!’ and instantly, he was flabbergasted by the number of mentions he had.
[965]
The glaring red number surprised him...and the fact that none of them were from Annabelle, since she knew that his system was going through hibernation, greatly surprised Adrian.
He checked the messages and the first one was,
Raven: [If you don’t answer me in an hour, I am coming over.]
Adrian’s mind went blank.
It was an hour ago
He was about to send a message—when suddenly,
[Host Raven is trying to enter the Host’s world using World Transfer.]
