Soon the entire civilization knew about the big event that awaited them. Most of them hoped that the Cerulean Defense Force, which was newly created, could handle this.
The higher-ups in the Comberth Continent and Heavensend Continent instructed their subordinates to move quickly to find the rift.
According to the records left by Goto, Kudungga and Chi You, the rift should appear during the Star Battle and had to be found quickly to gain an advantage.
That was the reason why…
“Quickly call the President and contact the Cerulean Defense Force in our branch to be ready to be deployed. We will use our reconnaissance aircraft to search for the rift immediately!” one of the influential people in the Hinon Federation ordered his peers to react.
On the other hand…
“We are the Transcendent Academy, the one who formed the Transcendent Army of the Thebes Kingdom! We will also be deployed alongside our comrades in the Cerulean Defense Force to make sure that the progress of this battle will be swift.” Kushina said in the conference room in the Transcendent Academy.
Tatsumi, who had heard her words, was touched. He could feel that the teachers in the conference room had their heartbeats faster and felt like their blood was boiling.
“Therefore, the high power transcendent at the peak of Nothingness Realm and Core Formation Realm will join the frontline while the rest become the support with logistics as well as securing our rear.” Kushina added.
Tatsumi knew that at this moment, everyone around the globe was discussing this matter and preparing for many variables to be dealt with.
On the Heavensend Continent, Qin Empire.
Chi Sen was receiving the news just like everyone else. He quickly went to the throne and declared, “Gather all the officials and ministers here, Right Now!”
All the people inside the palace dispersed as they had to get the communication device to contact all the officials and ministers.
Then there was also the Cerulean Defense Force who had received the news from everyone related and important.
“Report to the General, all the members of the Defense Force are receiving the news of the incoming Star Battle!” An adjutant walked to one of the generals responsible for the Cerulean Defense Force in his office.
“I…know that.” The general put his hand on his face, trying to digest the latest information that had suddenly popped up inside his head.
If it happened to him and according to what his adjutant had said, then it had happened to the rest of civilization.
The general did not think longer since a quick decision had to be made. Furthermore, the record regarding Star Battle was spread among ordinary people, so everyone knew about it and the general knew what response to give.
“Order all reconnaissance to look for the rift in all areas of the Empire. No, they also have to go beyond the Empire’s territory to the wilderness as well. Relay it!”
“Yes, sir!” The adjutant went directly to the communication office to relay the message to the entire units available to do so.
In short, the entire civilization moved to look for the rift. They swept through their territory first and foremost so that they could make sure that the entrance to enemy territory was not in their safe areas.
The military was not idle either, they started to prepare their logistics as well as their weaponry to be ready to be deployed at any given time.
This happened in the first ten minutes since the information had spread to the entire world.
After that time, a bit of unrest had to be pacified since the Rift location had not been announced. But the media made sure that they mentioned the location of the Rift was definitely not in their safe territory.
This action successfully calmed down the populace. As long as it was not in the safe area, it would be fine to leave the rest to the Cerulean Defense Force.
In one of the civilians’ houses, a radio was turned on and it was broadcasting a piece of important news.
“It is now confirmed that there are no Rift appearances in the safe area. The safe area is the place where we build a city and some areas in the surroundings. I repeat, there are no Rift appearances in the safe area. Citizens should stay calm and resume their daily activities. Just make sure that you don’t leave your city until the end of the event.”
There was a pair of husband and wife in the house, and as they listened to the news, they could not help but wonder about the situation outside of their city.
“I wonder what our daughter is doing right now. She is probably busy with managing some research project, isn’t she?” the husband thought about loud without him noticing.
His face was one of concern and his eyebrows were furrowed. His forehead even had wrinkles on it due to his expression. He had become a middle-aged man as time passed by and he realized that.
What he also realized was that her daughter was still single. He felt fortunate and also a bit concerned about it. But of course, he knew that his daughter was the one he was proud of; that was undeniable.
“Oh, you are concerned about her. How many times have you said that? Do you remember?” the wife glanced at him from the corner of her eye. She had heard her husband talk about their daughter so often that she was used to it.
In fact, he often boasted that his daughter was the best in the world to the neighbors. She could only smile at that. This time, it was no different.
The husband then said, “I don’t care how many times I said it, as long as it is the truth. I remember that she also often visited the most famous residence in Giol City for someone. Do you think she already has someone in her heart?”
Hearing that, the wife did not know what to say. She was stunned for a moment before she made up her mind.
“Maybe. But why are you wondering about this? From your earlier words, you are conflicted seeing her with someone else.” The wife said after she realized what was going on.
“Well, I just hope that whoever it is, he can help and protect her. We are getting on the years and have difficulties with intensive activity.” The husband uttered his heartfelt feelings.
“I see. You want her to be happy and live her life well. Me too.” The wife approached the husband as she grabbed his hand. Feeling that hand caused the husband to relax.
“Let us hope that Charlene can live to her fullest without regret. She is the one who human civilization considers to be the greatest inventor, after all, so I am sure that she will find a way.” The husband said while his hand raised and wrapped around his wife.
In the deepest restricted area of the Hinon Federation near Giol City, there was a facility that was dedicated to conducting experiments.
There were a lot of smaller structures inside the large building, where the scientists and researchers were experimenting with what they had theorized. It was the place where they could turn their theory into practical action, at least before being released to the people outside.
Charlene became the president of the experimental site in Giol City, where they conducted several tests to make sure that it was good enough for further distribution.
At this moment, they were conducting another experiment where the combination of technology and a transcendent energy source was used.
It was a potential bio weapon to be used against any creature or sentient being that they would face in the Star Battle. They were doing this because they were preparing for the future conflict but after receiving the message that popped suddenly on their head, the scientists and the researchers all agreed to conduct this particular experiment.
There were several beasts placed inside the reinforced glass dome. There, they deployed their bio weapon against the beasts.
The result? The beasts all shrieked and roared in pain, moving about and even ramming their bodies against the reinforced glass. The reinforced glass was made from the material that was hard along with a transcendent material which further strengthened the glass.
That was why, despite being rammed and subjected to strong forces, the glass did not even have a crack or damage.
The glass was one-way so the people on the outside could see what happened inside. When the green-colored mist started to be pumped inside, the beasts acted like that and caused some shockwaves but it was momentary.
Soon, the beasts all died due to the potent bio weapon the people there had deployed. It was made using the combination of the fragment of the Etherium, as well as the deadly gas that could potentially kill creatures within minutes.
“What is the result?” Charlene as the president came to the experiment’s site to see for herself the effect of this bio weapon.
Annie, the dwarf girl who was always beside Charlene, informed her, “All the beasts inside died within three minutes. Experienced pain and great discomfort to their respiratory system in the first few seconds as well as difficulties in moving in the last minute.”
Charlene wanted to further increase the effectiveness of this weapon but the Star Battle had already arrived and there could only be a field test to truly see the effect of the weapon.
“Barely satisfactory. But this will do. The rest will have to be conducted after the field test.” Charlene commented on the performance of the bio weapon.
Annie nodded before giving orders to the fellow scientists and researchers to prepare the bio weapon for deployment in case the Cerulean Defense Force asked them for it.
Charlene sighed. She did not want to develop these kinds of weapons but the circumstances and the potential future where they had to face enemies of different races made her do this.
Annie who was on her side noticed her gloomy look and said, “Come on, don’t be so pessimistic!”
She said with a cheerful tone and a bright smile as a follow-up.
“Your inventions will be useful to the civilizations and help our people in the Star Battle. You do know that Star Battle is a brutal battle between civilizations until a winner is decided. That is why we need to win, not only for the three gods but most importantly to ourselves.”
Charlene nodded in agreement. As long as there were external stimuli, the civilizations built under the three races could even unite against the external threat. But what she worried about was the potential use of her weapon for internal strife.
It had never disappeared from her mind since the possibility was ever-present. But her worry was diminished when she heard Annie saying such things.
“I can only hope…hope that Father God can help with the potential scenario of internal strife.” Charlene said with a somber tone.
She looked beyond the dome of the reinforced glass, toward the sky with clouds floating in it. She knew that the Father God Dian was watching over them in these critical moments and she more than ever wanted to know what He was thinking.
The scouts from the Cerulean Defense Force reported that there was still no sight of the Rift as foretold in the records.
Since that was the case, the scouts now carefully swept the area outside the safe area, outside the established city.
That was true of the pilot of a scouting aircraft. He did not see any sign of the Rift in his line of sight or down below his aircraft. He even had to lower his altitude so that he could see better things down on the ground.
‘Hmm, there is nothing unusual here. The trees are as high as I expected and the beasts are crawling and running on the ground but I don’t even see anything resembling the Rift around this area. I should move.’ The pilot thought.
Then, he moved away, unable to see the sign of a rift, and continued deeper into the wilderness. The wilderness of the Heavensend Continent was a vast expanse of plains, jungles, swamps and even a place that the people called a desert was there.
The pilot now saw the boundary between the plain and the desert, meaning he was quite deep into the wilderness.
‘The fuel is barely enough if I just go a bit into the desert area.’ The pilot thought. He made it so the aircraft was moving toward the desert, where he could see the yellow sand drifting along with the strong wind that blew.
The violet sun became more radiant and its heat became more intense; even the pilot could feel it in the cockpit. He kept looking for the trace of a rift even in the unfriendly environment.
After five more minutes in the air, the pilot turned his head to the front. He had turned his head to look around since the cockpit was made with a visual of almost 180 degrees to see things better, using special reinforced glass along with the airframe.
The moment he did, he saw a distortion in the air right in the far front of him. It was different than the air in heatwaves kind of distortion and he was sure that this was different.
He decided to guide the aircraft there. The more he got closer to the source of the distortion, the more he felt that something was definitely wrong.
‘Don’t tell me that this is…truly the sign of the rift in the records!’ The pilot was already sweating bullets since encountering this anomaly.
He could see that the wind did not blow in the direction of the distortion and even the animals down below unconsciously evaded the place as if guided by something.
But he was different. He could move further and that was exactly what he did. Surprisingly, there were no anomalies with his aircraft, it was flying as smoothly as usual.
“Report! There is…the Rift in the wilderness area!” the pilot relayed this through the radio channel. He said that because he saw the very thing the record mentioned. The one gate that connected the Cerulean Planet to the other planet.
Of course, the pilot did not care about the science behind it. What he cared about was that there were no alien beings that emerged from the rift. The rift itself was large enough that its width could cover an entire city, and its height was as tall as probably a twenty-story building.
“Metal One, do you copy? This information is crucial to the Cerulean Defense Force. Do you confirm its place and existence?” The end of the radio was someone who had been waiting for the news of the rift.
Hearing that one of the scouts reported such a thing made them quick to respond so that it would be quick to process.
“Metal One here, it is confirmed that the Rift has appeared in the wilderness area in the Heavensend Continent! I don’t see anything around the Rift. Probably the other side is just like us, searching for the Rift.”
The pilot not only reported the appearance of the Rift but also the situation in its surroundings.
“Metal One, out!” The pilot had a rough breath since he knew that there would be a battle near the very Rift he saw. He could faintly see the other side of the rift. It was just like any other place he had seen but a bit blurry.
He had to return to the nearest airbase since the fuel was barely enough for him to land. After scouting the area for some time, he finally had accomplished the mission given. All he had to do was return and refuel before he was sent to do another mission.
The information from Metal One was spread in the communication channel of the Cerulean Defense Force in the Heavensend Continent branch.
“It is time for us to be ready to be deployed, ladies and gentlemen.” On the aircraft carrier SS Bruce, Bruce was using the radio to spread the information to the crews.
The crews were getting excited. They joined the Navy because they wanted to fight for their civilization. Now that the opportunity presented itself, they were more than willing to work hard in that direction.
Bruce then turned off one radio and kept another radio on. The other one was the one receiving information about the current situation of the Cerulean Defense Force. The moment the Central Command had permitted it to deploy, Bruce conveyed it to the crews onboard.
The desert area was in the northwest of the Heavensend Continent. What the aircraft carrier had to do was to provide close air support as well as constantly report the situation there as the ground troops followed soon after.
The very first to move in this situation was the transcendent that affiliated with the Qin Empire. They became the spearhead that moved toward the location of the Rift after Metal One revealed its location.
They also moved faster due to their consumption of their transcendent energy, bolstering their physical prowess as well as speed.
Another five minutes passed and the information finally came to the Comberth Continent where the Central Command finally relayed the information of the Rift to the relevant people.
There were people who were ready to be deployed as reinforcement, while there were people who stayed to guard the safe areas. The reaction varied but for the Reservist, they were with the logistics. Their task was to help with the logistics, moving the supplies and escorting them most of the time.
And the Cerulean Defense force made a statement that all the races in the Cerulean Planet had to contribute to the battle.
The humans and the dwarves were involved. It was obviously the call to let the Undead Race also join in.
