Rules regarding familiars needed improvement
“Though, it would mean using my position as the duke’s daughter…”
“It’s fine, as long as you are not abusing it. Though, perhaps my opinion doesn’t matter…”
Claire looked a little troubled.
She had talked before about how they did not like to use their authority like that.
It was because of that way of thinking, that Mr. Ekenhart, Claire and Tilura were able to treat everyone the same.
“No, I am glad to hear it from you, Mr. Takumi. However…I will have to talk to my father and Sebastian about it as well. Up until now, there have not been many people with familiars, and so there were no big problems. But it seems like things are changing.”
In other words, since more people had familiars now, there needed to be proper rules put in place.
“Indeed. Apparently, it’s Leo’s influence. But we have to prevent there being more cases like Volgrau…”
We did not need more people who hurt or abandoned their monsters.After that, it was decided that Claire would take care of Volgrau for now, and so we left Ractos together.
After all, it would be troublesome to leave it with the guards.
Speaking of the guards, while we were leaving, I saw that the captain of the guards was on the ground in front of Johanna.
Apparently, they had a mock battle, and he lost terribly.
Leo had also run around with the guards, and seemed to have had fun.
“Well, the injuries are healed, and it seems better now… Leo, don’t go too fast, alright?”
“Wuff!”
In order to return to the mansion, Claire, Ms. Hermine and I were riding on Leo… Ms. Hermine had never ridden on Leo before, and wanted to take this opportunity.
It was then that Liza suggested that Volgrau was large enough to ride on.
“Are you sure?”
“Bow!”
Liza petted Volgrau’s back.
The wolf seemed to be happy to be useful. I suppose it was because its master had insulted it so many times before…
“Welcome back, Lady Claire. Is that the wolf I heard about?”
“Yes. Like the fenrirs, it will be staying with us for a while. Don’t worry, there is no danger. And what about Sebastian and the others?”
“Yes, certainly. As for the others, they have all arrived without any delay.”
“Good.”
Claire was talking to one of the guards at the gate.
She introduced Volgrau, who was still carrying Liza, and asked about the employees.
“Now, we will take Volgrau to the back garden.”
“Thank you, Ms. Lyra.”
“Kuuun…?”
“Don’t worry, Volgrau. I will go later.”
The fenrirs and Rahle would be in the garden as well. Volgrau might be a little startled, but hopefully Leo would help there…
“Welcome back, Lady Claire and Mr. Takumi!”
We entered through the front door and were welcomed by the servants.
Seeing Claire dressed so beautiful in front of a row of bowing servants… It was definitely a striking image. It really reminded me that she was a highborn lady.
Like we were from very different worlds. Though, I would try not to think about it now.
Thanks mostly to Leo, I was now in the position to be hiring servants myself. So perhaps I would think of things differently…
