Chapter 1129
I distributed items as substitutes for employment certificates
“Next is…Mr. Galgrio.”
“Yes!”
After being called, Mr. Galgrio answered loudly and stepped forward.
When they were finished petting Leo, they stood in a line again, and were given one of the tiny lights I had brought.
Though it was just the people that I was hiring, I called each by name and handed it over myself.
Alfred stood next to me and carried the box of tiny lights, while Ms. Lyra whispered the names to me… Because I still hadn’t memorized all of them yet.
“Here. This tiny light will be proof.”
“Thank you… You healed my leg, which I thought was hopeless. And so I shall do my best!”
Mr. Galgrio accepted it with both hands and took one step back and bowed his head.“Next is Mr. Clint…”
“Yes.”
I continued to distribute the tiny lights.
While they were magic tools, they were also considered to be failed products, so they were cheap.
Most of the people seemed to know about them, so there were hardly any surprised faces. Still, they accepted them warmly.
“Phew… It’s finally finished.”
“Good work, Mr. Takumi.”
“Thank you. You too, Ms. Lyra…and everyone. I needed that support. And you were very good too, Leo!”
“Wuff-wuff!”
After we finished distributing the tiny lights, we said goodbye to everyone, and then decided to make our way back to Mr. Haines’s store. The others had gone out to eat lunch together. It would be an opportunity to get to know the people they would be working with, and they would also be given a more detailed explanation about Weed Cultivation and the herb gardens.
And as neither Claire or I would be there, Sebastian would have plenty of opportunity to talk.
So that just left me, Claire, Leo, Sherry, Liza, Ms. Lyra, Ms. Hermine, as well as the guards.
“Perhaps we should go too, Mr. Takumi.”
“Yes. Leo…since you were so good, you can eat plenty of sausages today!”
“Wuff!”
“Mama is so happy!”
And so we left in order to get some lunch.
Leo wagged her tail happily at the mention of sausages. Liza and Tilura seemed to be relieved to be away from the crowd.
Along with Leo, who was in a good mood, we headed for the cafe we had gone to previously.
While we were not regulars, we had gone enough times to be remembered. Besides, it was an open cafe, so there was plenty of space for Leo.
Ms. Lyra and the others went to secure sausages from a food stall, and so I secured the tables and chairs… As it was past lunch time, it should not be too crowded.
“You surprised me, Tilura.”
“I did?”
“Yes. I was also surprised, just like Mr. Takumi.”
After we finished distributing the lights to everyone, she had taken a step forward in front of me and Claire.
This was not planned, and Tilura had already introduced herself to everyone.
“She said, ‘Please take care of my sister and Mr. Takumi’…”
Actually, she said a lot more than that. But that was the gist of it. And then she bowed her head. Even as the duke’s daughter, she was not directly involved in the business. And so both Claire and Sebastian were also surprised.
Still, everyone smiled warmly, as if they thought it was commendable that she was doing her best.
“But why did you say that so suddenly, Tilura? I am not blaming you, but…”
If anything, Claire sounded quite happy.
“Because… You, and Mr. Takumi…and Liza and Leo. I guess I…wanted you all to do your best?”
“…You don’t sound so sure? But I appreciate the thought.”
“Yes. So do I. Thank you, Tilura.”
It really did seem like she had been thinking of something else. Still, I am sure it was because she wanted to help us. And so we both thanked her…
