Mysterious Journey
Chapter 1253 The Weasleys and the Witch
By the time the Gryffindor students had finished tidying up their beds, their parents' anger levels were nearly maxed out.
What infuriated the parents even more was that the children seemed utterly justified when confronted with the disciplinary records in their "magical books."
"Yeah, so what? I just don't like him—"
"Gryffindor punching a Slytherin, does that even need a reason?"
"Ravenclaw? They're just too arrogant, I just wanted to teach them a lesson—"
"How about it? My win rate's pretty high, right?"
"Snape's been targeting Gryffindor for ages, the reasons for deducting points in Potions class are even more absurd!"
"Even if I'm 99% at fault for this deduction, doesn't Professor Snape bear at least 1% of the blame?"
"..."
After two years of experience, Gryffindor had completely transformed in the realm of "trash talk," reaching unprecedented heights at Hogwarts.
Perhaps they couldn't quite match a certain source of all evil in terms of skill, but they were more than capable of easily affecting the mindset of most normal people.
Of course, if there were other options, the young wizards wouldn't choose this method of deliberately provoking their parents.
After all, they mostly had reasons that were not easy to explain, but had to be confronted…
"Hmm? Are you saying…"
Mrs. Weasley's eyebrows twitched slightly, as she thoughtfully murmured.
"Percy, Charlie, their duels were… over affections?"
"Yeah, Penelope and Meriel are the brightest stars of Ravenclaw…"
Ginny nodded, glancing sympathetically at her grinning brothers, gloatingly explaining.
"The Ravenclaw boys in their year have all challenged them to duels, and besides that, there have been quite a few duel requests from other houses as well…"
Ever since Penelope publicly admitted to dating Percy, they had instantly become the target of the entire Ravenclaw house, and even some "admirers" from other houses.
Continually stealing two female prefects, secretly seducing girls while working in the potato fields… The Gryffindor boys gained love while also attracting hatred.
Every few days, disgruntled boys would actively seek them out for duels, with the reasons for the duels being even more bizarre.
The Gryffindors naturally accepted all challenges, as their duel win rate was generally above 60%.
"That's ridiculous! Who likes whom, who dates whom, how could that be decided by duels!"
Mrs. Weasley frowned sharply, sternly saying with displeasure.
"These guys who disrespect girls and are jealous of other people's love deserve to be punished! So… did you win?"
In her eyes, Penelope and Meriel were considered her "future daughters-in-law," and she didn't want to hear that her daughters-in-law had been snatched away through duels.
"Uh— half and half, I guess…"
George rubbed his nose, and under his mother's stern gaze, spread his hands helplessly.
"Peach is in seventh year, Mum—almost all the people who challenged me were sixth and seventh years…"
"But don't worry, we're just practicing magic, no bets involved—everyone knows I'm engaged to Peach, they're just jealous and looking for trouble."
"Hmph—of course there can't be any bets—"
Mrs. Weasley's expression softened slightly, and she gently nodded.
She could understand George's situation, as Miss Streepe was three years older than him, and there was nothing he could do about it.
"Percy and Penelope are both prefects, not many people dare to cause trouble."
Without waiting for Mrs. Weasley to name names, Ginny coughed lightly, quickly helping to answer.
"Few students in the same year are his match, and all the duels Percy participates in are with Penelope's consent."
"Mmhmm—"
Mrs. Weasley nodded noncommittally, continuing her interrogation.
"But, I seem to have seen a Ravenclaw girl on Charlie's list—"
"They wanted to ask Charlie out, and if Charlie lost, he would have to fulfill the agreement and go on a date with them afterwards…"
Ginny explained softly, glancing at her brothers who were looking at her with anticipation and gratitude, and silently rolled her eyes in her heart.
These guys were all eager when it came to causing trouble, but when they stood before their mother, they still pushed her, the youngest sister, to help smooth things over.
"Dates?! Duel bets… Charlie…"
Mrs. Weasley was stunned for a moment, glanced at Charlie not far away, and opened his magic book to take a closer look.
Compared to the precocious third, fourth, and fifth children, the love lives of the eldest and second children had always been a source of anxiety for this old mother.
"Don't worry, Mum—"
Before Mrs. Weasley could continue to ask, Charlie Weasley grinned and said confidently.
"I haven't lost a single match, they're no match for me at all! Not to mention one-on-one, even if two or three of them come at me together, I won't lose!"
"Shut up—I wasn't asking you—"
Mrs. Weasley glared and directly cut off Charlie's words.
As a worker at the dragon reserve, Charlie had the courage to face a grumpy nesting dragon, but he didn't dare to talk back to his mother when she was angry.
If he dared to talk back like those other Gryffindor students, he probably wouldn't even make it to the end of dinner before the other brothers would team up to bury him in the ground as a sacrifice.
"Let's put the duel thing aside for now, who can tell me what's going on with this Potions class deduction record?"
Mr. Weasley coughed lightly, taking the initiative to help Charlie change the subject, frowning and asking in confusion.
"I noticed that almost everyone has been deducted almost twenty points in Potions class—"
"Snape targets us, he's especially harsh on Gryffindors!" Fred quickly replied without thinking.
"That's right, a Slytherin student makes a pot of paste and he criticizes it, but a Gryffindor makes one wrong step and it's five points." George nodded in agreement.
"...But, there are also Gryffindor students who get points in Potions class, right?"
Mrs. Weasley raised her eyebrows, glanced at the other end of the lounge, her tone full of suspicion.
"Harry's aunt showed me Harry's record, and Harry's cumulative additions and deductions in Potions class are positive—if you don't make mistakes, I don't think the professor will deduct points at will."
"Harry is an exception—"
"Do you know, Harry is the first Gryffindor to get points from Snape in ten years!"
The Weasley twins hesitated, hastily trying to explain, wishing they could just dump all the words in their heads out in one go.
Unlike the other students, they lost a lot of points in Potions class, although part of the reason was because they would occasionally try some small innovations in class.
"Oh—"
Mrs. Weasley hummed noncommittally, not continuing to delve deeper.
In fact, if Professor McGonagall hadn't found her for a private chat, Mrs. Weasley would have originally planned to just let it go.
It was just that her seven children had deducted so many points in total that, according to Professor McGonagall, they had deducted almost half of the Quidditch House Cup's point advantage.
After pondering for a moment, Mrs. Weasley turned to look at her children and said seriously.
"I won't dwell on the past, but for the rest of the term, if you continue to have points deducted in Potions class..."
"Then we'll turn ourselves into slugs—"
"Or cut ourselves into shriveled fig slices—"
"Actively jump into the cauldron, add some potatoes, add some carrots, sprinkle a small handful of salt—"
"Simmer over low heat and cook us into a pot of obedient claypot rice to apologize to you—"
*Pfft—*
Accompanied by George and Fred's duet, Ginny couldn't help but laugh out loud.
On the other side, under the twins' funny and exaggerated impromptu performance, the seriousness on Mrs. Weasley's face finally couldn't hold on any longer.
She shook her head helplessly and raised her hand to knock the two problem children on the head hard.
"When are you going to learn from Aeliana, Ginny, and be less of a worry..."
Learn from… Aeliana, Ginny?
Aren't they the most… terrifying witch group in Hogwarts history?
George and Fred exchanged strange glances, their lips subconsciously moved a few times.
However, in the end, under the clear gaze of the Weasley family's little princess, it all turned into a dejected bitter smile.
"Yeah yeah yeah, Mum, you're right—"
"Yeah, we'll pay attention in the future—"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Gryffindor common room.
Different from the tense and exciting "limited-time parent-child showdown" activity in most areas.
The atmosphere in the lower grade parents and students area was much better, after all, their grades and discipline were pretty good.
The parents gathered in groups of twos and threes, leisurely watching the drama unfolding on the side, chatting idly with their children, Hogwarts rarely held a parent-teacher conference, and every parent had too many questions and topics they wanted to share with others.
And at the center of all the topics and crowds, was naturally the second year's "Gryffindor limited" witch.
"...In short, as a Hogwarts prefect, I can answer most of your questions about the school."
Hermione Granger said prettily, looking around at the parents surrounding her.
Her magic book floated quietly in the air, the gold and red inlaid gems occasionally flashing a stream of light.
