Mysterious Journey
Chapter 1059: Sorry, You Are Not Worthy
Hermione raised her eyebrows, pointed at the signature at the end of the notice, and said in a serious whisper.
They had agreed beforehand that if a lie was exposed on the spot, it would start at three times, with a maximum of one hundred, depending on the severity.
"And, you probably didn't sign me up for anything, did you? I didn't expect you to secretly plan such a competition. If Professor Dumbledore and Professor Apocalypses both agreed, then there must be a reasonable starting point, right? What's the reason?"
Hermione glanced at the speechless white-haired puffball beside her, examining the contents of the announcement with interest.
Gryffindor and Slytherin had long wanted to engage in a public contest.
Due to its impromptu nature, last year's off-campus "free-for-all" failed to determine a winner.
However, if it became a "formal competition" recognized by the school's professors, the standardization and value would be beyond doubt.
"The joint development rights to the Elixir of Life, probably."
Eileen shrugged, her gaze moving away from the shimmering "Eileen signature."
"Gryffindor has enough raw material supply, but they don't have a suitable venue for brewing the 'Elixir of Life' – and the most suitable venue holder is… Slytherin. Before two enemies cooperate, they can spar to dispel misunderstandings. It makes sense."
As for forging a signature, there's obviously no misunderstanding, it's just provocation!
After accepting the "senior meal" arrangement, the spicy old radish probably completely let go of his psychological burden and started to fight back.
"Elixir of Life?" Hermione frowned, repeating the phrase subconsciously.
"Yeah, it's that thing from this morning..."
Eileen nodded, explaining with a sheepish smile, "Um, a spellcasting tool – it's really special magical material."
"Oh—"
Hermione replied softly, unfazed, and glanced at the excited boys not far away.
So, the essence of this competition is the two houses vying for the "brewing rights"?
Then Gryffindor might as well be completely wiped out – she doesn't want to face a group of tipsy boys every time she returns to the common room. Even if she has the authority as a prefect to punish "underage drinking," she would prefer the Elixir of Life to wreak havoc on Slytherin.
"Uh, Hermione, as referees we have to be as fair as possible..."
Watching the light flickering in the little beaver's eyes, Eileen coughed lightly and said cautiously.
Since spending so much time with her, Granger, who was already a hidden witch, steadily ranked first among the little wings in terms of danger.
"Of course, I know—" Hermione replied perfunctorily.
Just then, a shrill voice suddenly sounded from the back of the crowd.
"What is this?! Who posted it!"
They turned to look.
Dolores Umbridge walked down the marble staircase with a gloomy expression.
Due to the angle, she couldn't see the three signatures at the bottom of the notice yet.
But Eileen suspected that even if she did see them, she probably wouldn't let it go – holding a multi-person duel at Hogwarts to cultivate the wand combat skills of young wizards, this could be said to be the most taboo thing for the Ministry of Magic: Fudge was worried that Dumbledore was training a secret army.
"Make way—make way—"
Umbridge pushed the students away, brandishing her wand, and walked over aggressively.
She squinted her eyes, carefully read the contents, and her gaze naturally fell on Eileen in front of the notice board.
Compared to the names of the other two old wizards, "Eileen Kaslana" appearing at the end of the signature was clearly easier to deal with.
In fact, she had long wanted to take action against this "Head Girl of Hogwarts" – such a special young wizard in school who can speak and has extra privileges granted by Dumbledore is undoubtedly the easiest breakthrough for her to deal with.
She hadn't been able to find an opportunity in class or campus life in the past few days, but now she finally found a flaw!
"Miss Kaslana, can you help me explain what this is?"
Umbridge lowered her head, looking down at Eileen condescendingly, with a sickening smile on her face.
"As the first 'Head Girl' in Hogwarts history, is this your way of coordinating internal conflicts between students in various houses and assisting professors in their teaching work? Doesn't it look more like a barbaric, violent, and disordered legal brawl to me?"
"Well, obviously, this is an approved inter-house friendship competition."
Eileen cursed the two old men a few times in her heart, and said with a non-submissive and non-arrogant smile.
"Approved? Oh? How come I don't know?"
Professor Umbridge's protruding eyes narrowed, and her short, stubby fingers waved triumphantly.
"According to Educational Decree No. 24, large-scale student activities and club activities at Hogwarts, in addition to the approval of the headmaster and professors, should also be submitted to the High Inquisitor, that is, myself, for approval – not to mention, such a multi-person duel. As a High Inquisitor appointed by the Ministry of Magic, I don't think it's the right choice to condone students releasing spells and fighting in Hogwarts Castle."
"Oh, you have a point. You can discuss it with Professor Dumbledore at the dinner table later."
Eileen shrugged, unfazed, and turned to walk into the hall.
If Dumbledore and Grindelwald thought that forging a signature could force her to stand up and take on these troubles, then these two old fellows were obviously overthinking it. She was just an observer and wouldn't personally deal with any pink toad.
As for whether Umbridge would feel offended, that was none of her business. It's not like she hasn't beaten up formal professors before.
Compared to going against the pink toad, Eileen was more concerned about what to eat tonight.
"Oh, Miss Kaslana, I don't seem to have allowed you to leave yet—"
Seeing Eileen turning around and leaving directly, Dolores Umbridge's face turned cold.
"It's dinner time, Professor – please don't block the door to the hall, okay?"
Eileen held Hermione's hand with one hand and waved casually without turning her head, "There is no rule in the Hogwarts school rules that students must answer questions after class. As for the notice board, this is the decision of the professors. If you have any dissatisfaction, you can directly provide feedback to Professor Dumbledore and Professor Apocalypses. They will definitely respect your opinion. After all, you are the High Inquisitor—"
Professor Umbridge's eyebrows twitched, and she felt the blood rush to her head.
As a "rhetoric" master in the Ministry of Magic, Professor Umbridge could of course hear the sarcasm of this little witch.
"Good, very good—"
Professor Umbridge laughed in anger and said repeatedly.
For a moment, the surrounding wizards thought she was going to start shouting loudly.
But she didn't get angry, but said in the gentlest, most coquettish little girl's voice.
"Come here, Miss Kaslana, dear – it seems that we lack some etiquette education. Well, this week go to my office after school every night for detention – starting tonight. Also, deduct ten points from Hufflepuff as a lesson for your insolence towards the professor."
"Well, I might have to say, add ten points to Hufflepuff—"
Eileen stopped and glanced at the points disappearing from the Hufflepuff hourglass in the entrance hall.
"—as a reward for Miss Kaslana's enthusiastic explanation for the professor."
The brilliant diamonds bounced up and down in the hourglass and returned to calm.
There was a terrible silence in the hall.
Except for Hermione, who was gently tugging on Eileen's sleeve, no one dared to speak.
"Oh, sorry, Professor Umbridge—"
A sickening smile appeared on Eileen's face, imitating Professor Umbridge's voice and said softly in a coy voice.
"I forgot to tell you that as the Head Girl of Hogwarts, I also have the authority to add and deduct points outside the classroom. By the way, you have no right to put me in detention, because the 'Head Chef of Hogwarts' is a member of the faculty, and I just signed a labor contract this year."
The faculty members of Hogwarts have a magical connection with the castle, which is different from the non-magical world.
Apart from those ethereal legends, the most direct manifestation is that they can execute the decision to add and deduct points anywhere.
With the diamonds of Hufflepuff House bouncing, Eileen's importance in Professor Umbridge's eyes instantly rose from an ordinary problem student to the position of a bridgehead of the Dumbledore faction – if the Ministry of Magic plans to reduce Dumbledore's authority by attacking some professors, then this little witch with partial teacher authority is Hogwarts' way of fighting back, and the target, of course, is the High Inquisitor.
"Oh— then, Professor Umbridge, am I allowed to leave now?"
Eileen asked with a light smile, and the smile on the corner of her mouth looked particularly dazzling in Umbridge's eyes.
"If I remember correctly, your current positions should only be High Inquisitor and Deputy Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, right? It may be a little uncomfortable to step down from the position of Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic, but you have to try to accept it. After all, ups and downs, that's life."
In the wizarding world, there is such a saying that only magic can defeat magic.
She clearly saw Umbridge's nostrils begin to contract, like an angry toad under water.
Eileen's eyes were fixed on Umbridge's wand in her right hand. If she really got angry and cast a spell, then Hermione's wish to not submit her homework next week might come true in advance – even Dumbledore might not be able to suppress her at such a close distance.
"Miss Kaslana, so, you want to say..."
Unexpectedly, Professor Umbridge didn't explode.
She took a deep breath, her face expressionless, and said in a cold, hoarse voice.
"Whether as High Inquisitor or Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts, neither of these two identities is qualified to discipline you, right?"
"In theory, it seems so—"
Eileen bowed politely and released the wand hidden under her wizard robe with some regret.
"I'm going to eat first. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I'm happy to answer them for you."
Anyway, this toad has only about a week left to hop around.
Teasing her a little during this time can distract Umbridge and the Ministry of Magic's energy to some extent.
After Rita's articles come out, it will be time to sound the horn of attack – of course, before that, she will visit the two respected old men tonight to care about their old age life.
After all…
Eileen glanced at the signatures on the announcement.
The "surprise gift" from the two centenarian old men was too heartwarming.
