Mysterious Journey

Chapter 1063: Big Foot, Moon Face, the Weasley Twins

Hogwarts, an office located in the corner of the second floor of the castle.

Last year, it was just an empty, unused classroom. However, with the expansion of the Hogwarts faculty, Sirius Black requisitioned it as his personal office—just like Professor McGonagall's office, Black's bedroom was located behind the office.

Compared to the gloomy, dilapidated old Black family home, Sirius preferred to call this place "home."

"Alright, relax, I'm not Professor McGonagall—"

Sirius said, wandering around the room, finding a kettle and several tea sets.

"Hmm, fancy a cup of tea? I've secretly stashed away some goodies, but I promised Professor Dumbledore I wouldn't introduce you to things that aren't suitable for your age—Remus, what do you want? Tea or coffee, or should I get some pumpkin juice?"

"Just water will do, Sirius."

Lupin smiled and shook his head, watching Sirius Black bustling around the office.

It had to be said that Sirius looked much better than when he had just returned from Azkaban.

At least when he suggested, "Let's go hunt for Prongs's and Moony's successors tonight," Lupin could see the shadow of the old mischief-maker in his eager black eyes—he was finally starting to gradually emerge from the remorse of the past.

Of course, part of the reason Lupin agreed to Sirius's "hunting" plan was the "prey" for tonight.

"By the way, don't just stand at the door. Put the stuff on the table and sit down."

Lupin said casually, smiling at the Weasley twins who were standing cautiously by the door.

"If Arthur's sons were all well-behaved, I'd be surprised. Your dad was the head target for the castle caretaker back in Gryffindor—taking some food from the kitchen is nothing, it's basically a Hogwarts student perk."

"Uh, oh, okay. Professor Lupin."

George and Fred exchanged glances and sat down somewhat restrained on the edge of the sofa in the room.

Meanwhile, Sirius Black finally found the tea bags. He tapped the kettle lightly with his wand, and a puff of steam suddenly burst from the spout.

"Anyway, let's get straight to the point."

Sirius laughed cheerfully, directing the kettle to fill each teacup.

"When did you discover that map, and how did you figure it out? As far as I know, it should be in the pile of confiscated items Filch collected. I thought it was thrown away. By the way, do you find this magical map useful?"

Fred and George were stunned, and all the explanations they had prepared were stifled.

Through the faint mist rising from the teacups, Sirius Black's eyes sparkled.

"Wh-what map... Professor Black."

Fred Weasley chuckled dryly, trying to grasp at the last glimmer of hope.

"Oh, parchment fly—"

Sirius Black grinned, tapping lightly with his wand.

Immediately, a small, old blank piece of parchment jumped out of Fred's pocket.

Before George and Fred could react—in fact, they were so nervous they were almost dumbfounded—Lupin reached out and gently caught the high-tossed parchment in mid-air, his slender fingers caressing the edges of the old parchment as if seeing an old friend.

Lupin turned his head, exchanged a look with Sirius, and a strange, mysterious expression appeared on his face.

"It's just an... old piece of parchment..." George Weasley said weakly.

"Oh? Is it? Do you like to call it 'old parchment'?"

Sirius shrugged noncommittally, scratching his head in annoyance.

"I thought the name Marauder's Map was better? Remus, I told you that name was too ordinary."

As he spoke, he touched the parchment lightly with his wand.

The folded piece of parchment quickly unfolded, and fine ink lines like spiderwebs spread outward from where the wand touched. These lines merged and intersected, extending to every corner of the parchment, and in the blink of an eye, it turned into an exquisite map.

Then, words began to appear above the parchment, clearly displaying several lines of green calligraphy.

"Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs"

"Purveyors of Aids to Magical Mischief-Makers"

"Are Proud to Present"

"The Marauder's Map"

This map detailed every detail of Hogwarts Castle and its grounds.

However, the truly amazing thing was the small ink dots moving along the map.

Each ink dot was labeled with a name in tiny letters. The names of the ghosts, Mrs. Norris's name, were all on it. And in the office at the end of the corridor on the second floor of the castle, the ink dots of George Weasley and Fred Weasley were obediently motionless. Opposite them were Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, two ink dots that looked slightly different—they seemed to be slightly larger.

"How do you know... uh, the Marauder's Map?"

Fred's strength seemed to be drained, and he said somewhat despairingly.

George was no better. Caught red-handed, this might be their biggest failure ever.

You know, sitting opposite them was the castle caretaker and Transfiguration professor, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

"Oh, because we made it when we were students."

Professor Lupin said, handing George a cup of tea, smiling kindly.

"The world is wonderful, isn't it? Don't scare these two kids, Padfoot."

"Well, let me introduce myself—I'm Padfoot."

Sirius Black patted Lupin's shoulder, pointing to the top line of green letters on the map with his wand.

"As for Professor Lupin, his nickname when he was a student was Moony. Okay, now you can answer us, how did you get this Marauder's Map, and how did you figure it out? And of course, most importantly, how did you feel using it before?!"

"Uh, eh?! You, you drew this?!"

George was stunned for half a second, his eyes wandering between the faces of the two professors.

Finally, in Professor Lupin's gentle smile, he slowly breathed a sigh of relief and took a sip of tea to calm himself down.

Over the past four years, he and Fred had praised the authors of the Marauder's Map more than once. The creators of this magical map, which was created from the very beginning to help a new generation of rule-breakers, could be said to be the Weasley twins' top "campus idols" they wanted to meet most.

Although this "fan meeting" was a bit abrupt, after a brief period of bewilderment, the shock quickly began to turn into excitement.

You know, as the new generation of "pranksters," the Weasley twins were not afraid of anything.

"It's amazing! To be honest, we owe you a lot—Moony—uh—"

"If you feel awkward, just call me Professor Lupin."

Lupin shrugged, keenly capturing George Weasley's hesitation.

He was now in his thirties and had been a professor for almost a year, so of course he could understand the other party's embarrassment.

"It's obvious that you've used it well—if it weren't for Sirius... uh, Professor Black being faster, we almost wouldn't have been able to stop you before you entered the secret passage. But I'm still very curious, how did you find this 'old parchment'?"

"Cough, cough, the Marauder's Map!" Fred said somewhat embarrassedly, making a face, "It all goes back to when we were in first year—"

"First year?" Sirius raised his eyebrows with interest.

This was earlier than when they had awakened back then. No wonder Dumbledore had specifically mentioned these two brothers to him.

"Yes, when we were in first year, Professor Black—tender, innocent, carefree—"

Sirius made a rather playful snort.

He felt that such lines, if placed ten years ago, would have resembled James's shamelessness.

"—Uh, more innocent than we are now—we had a little friction with Mr. Filch at the time."

"We put a dungbomb in the corridor, and for some reason, this little joke made him very depressed—"

"So he dragged us to his office and started threatening to introduce the caretaker's—"

"—Detention—"

"—To take out our intestines—"

"—And we couldn't help but notice his filing cabinet drawer, one of which was labeled: Confiscated Items, Highly Dangerous."

"Oh, don't tell me—" Sirius listened with great interest, unable to help but laugh.

"Well, yeah, the temptation was hard to resist, right?" Fred said, "George threw another dungbomb, diverting his attention, and I took the opportunity to quickly open the drawer and grab—this Hogwarts prank spirit inheritance item."

"Of course, as a price, Mom sent two letters the next day, very festive red."

"But, it's not as bad as it sounds, right?"

Sirius Black patted Fred on the shoulder, saying with a gratified tone as if he had successors, "After provoking and venturing in front of the enraged castle caretaker, I roughly understand why the 'Marauder's Map' would directly recognize you. You guys have a lot of courage."

"Well, we guess Filch never figured out how to use this parchment. But he may have guessed a little about what it was."

George shrugged noncommittally, and said with a serious face.

"Honestly, it taught us more than all the teachers in the school combined—except for your course, Professor."

"Whoa, if that sentence was said before the 'introduction', it might have been ten times better."

Lupin couldn't help but laugh, he turned his head to look at Sirius.

"So, what do you think of these two kids? Padfoot."

"I think they're good—"

Sirius Black rubbed his chin, waved to Fred, and hooked his shoulder casually.

"Do you know what the punishment is for being caught night-wandering at Hogwarts?"

"Uh—detention?"

"Correct answer."

Sirius snapped his fingers, and said cheerfully.

"George Weasley, Fred Weasley, as a result of our smooth communication, your night-wandering behavior tonight will not result in points being deducted from Gryffindor, but your detentions will begin at nine o'clock tomorrow night, and the location is this office."

"What?!"

"No way, Professor Black!"

"Sorry, I am now a castle caretaker, and this is my duty."

Sirius shrugged, quite satisfied with the expressions of the Weasley twins, grinning and laughing.

"Don't look so gloomy. I heard that this weekend's inter-house dueling competition, the fourth-year pair is you two? I don't want to see Snape's smug face on that day, so... Padfoot and Moony, are going to give you some after-school special training."

"After-school... special training?" Fred repeated, looking like he had some concerns.

"What? You don't seem happy?"

Sirius frowned, wondering how to further persuade him.

Wizards of this age are somewhat rebellious, especially this kind of tutoring that sacrifices leisure time.

"Don't worry, as compensation, after the training, I'll allow you to wander and play in the castle more—just consider it as assisting the castle caretaker's patrol work. Remus and I will also give you some leeway in terms of homework, and we won't squeeze your entertainment time."

Honestly, when he and Lupin were at this age, they would gather together with a few people to play crazily after school every day.

Now that they have become Hogwarts professors, they naturally know how to change perspectives so that young wizards can more easily accept their views.

"No, Professor, I'm just a little tangled—this matter, it should be highly confidential, right?"

Fred slowly shook his head, carefully considering his words.

"Oh, I see. You want to tell your classmates, show off a little?"

Professor Lupin thoughtfully nodded, smiling kindly, "You can actually wait until the end of the competition, or simply trick them with a few mysterious words, which will make it easier for people to admire you. After all, once this kind of secret weapon is exposed, its effect will be greatly reduced."

Young wizards, most of them have some vanity.

James Potter was like this back then, and Lupin felt that he could understand these two little guys' thoughts.

"Uh, actually it's not..."

Fred scratched his cheek, a little embarrassed.

"That, mainly Angelina, I haven't been dating her for long—I have to report my schedule."

"...Girlfriend? Report?"

"Yes, Professor, do you have any dating tips?"

Fred nodded seriously, looking expectantly at Lupin.

"Uh—well—"

Lupin was stunned for half a second, and subconsciously turned his head to look at Sirius.

As a pure wizard who has been single for thirty years, this question completely touched his blind spot.

However, it was obvious that Sirius couldn't "change his perspective" either—he wasn't much better than Lupin. He spent most of his time in Azkaban after graduation. The closest witch next door was that madwoman Bella.

And when he was in school, his main energy was spent bullying Snape, and he had almost zero experience in love and girlfriends. He only had the stories of James and Lily as a reference, but that obviously couldn't be precipitated into any personal experience.

"Cough, a girlfriend you're dating? Hmm..."

Sirius pondered for a few seconds, and waved his hand nonchalantly, "It's simple, just say you're with George."

"Uh, I'm afraid not—"

George Weasley touched his nose with a wry smile.

"What, you have to report too? You have a girlfriend too?!"

Sirius twitched his lips, looking at the two young wizards in front of him with considerable dissatisfaction.

How come these two little guys started dating when they were only in fourth grade?

Even James didn't succeed until the second semester of sixth grade.

"No, Meryl isn't my girlfriend..."

"Oh, still pursuing her? Then it doesn't matter even more, it's just a week—"

Sirius grinned, patting George Weasley on the shoulder.

Although the two brothers looked almost identical, he clearly felt that this young wizard was more pleasing to the eye at this moment.

"No... Meryl is..."

George Weasley sighed deeply, and said helplessly.

"She's my fiancée. After she graduates this year, we might get married."

Sirius: ???

He suddenly felt that these twin brothers were not so cute anymore.
