Mysterious Journey
Chapter 1065 First-Rate, Second-Rate, Third-Rate
The aroma of grilled sausages and bacon permeated the common room.
Although Hermione couldn't represent Gryffindor in the inter-house competition, her and Aileen's importance was no less than those competing: Prefects, Head of House, this was written in the rules as part of the judging team.
No one knew how the inter-house competition would be judged, but there was no harm in trying to curry favor with the judges beforehand.
On the other hand, the food Fred and George brought up from the kitchens also had a positive effect.
Bribed with delicious food, Aileen selectively revealed some of the competition rules and requirements.
The competition venues were all set up on the Quidditch pitch, but apart from the 5v5 team match, the range of the other two matches was actually limited.
For example, the 1v1 individual match would use a circle as a small-scale battle area, with knockdown and unconsciousness, as well as stepping out of the circle, all counting as defeat.
And during the two-person duel, the professors would erect a temporary magical arena in the center of the field.
The arena was about the size of two Transfiguration classrooms, and eight stone pillars would be erected in the field as cover. The high Quidditch stands could provide a clear view of the battle below, while also eliminating the possibility of cheating.
In fact, if conditions permitted, Aileen even wanted to create a light and shadow broadcast.
As for the 5v5 team match, there were many more playable options to consider.
No matter how much the Gryffindor wizards asked, Aileen remained tight-lipped and didn't reveal anything.
She planned to save the most exciting parts for the competition venue on Sunday, while also subtly controlling the balance.
The only hint was to earn as many "points" as possible in the next few days, which would enhance their viewing experience on the weekend.
Whether it was the bean-guessing contest, player power rankings, or even buying passes to crowd-fund the prize pool... there were too many competitive derivative gameplay options from later generations. If it weren't for considering version iterations, she would have even wanted to fast-forward Hogwarts' points gameplay by thirty years in one go.
However, even the sporadic details that Aileen "accidentally" revealed were enough to fill the Gryffindor wizards with anticipation.
This excitement even continued until the next morning.
Despite having three full days until Sunday, the Gryffindor wizards were so excited that it felt like they had already watched the competition.
Aileen and Hermione walked down the stairs from the girls' dormitory, discussing the day's schedule: In addition to their normal timetable, they also had an extra elective Divination class. Compared to other Hogwarts courses, Divination was clearly Hermione's most confusing magical field.
The main thing was that neither Professor Trelawney nor Aileen, these two "seers," were very credible.
"Honestly, who do you think will win this competition?"
Hermione, hugging her thick textbooks, walked through the sunlit common room and asked in a low voice.
"If today's Divination homework is this, how are you going to answer?"
"The millennia-long rivalry will not come to an end, courage and forbearance are the oldest twin anthems of mankind, the scorching impact under the sun is unstoppable, and when the veil of night falls, the hunters in the shadows will seize their glory—"
"Speak plainly—"
Hermione raised her textbook and smacked it against Aileen's chest, saying angrily.
Anyway, the reserve food and little marinated snacks weren't there, so she could directly bypass the armor and attack Aileen's body.
"That's the standard answer. If you're asked in class, that's how you answer."
Aileen nimbly dodged the little beaver's attack and slapped her on the butt in retaliation.
"The secret of Divination is not to speak plainly. If you can freely master the positive solution, the negative solution, and the compromise solution... then your attainments in this course will reach the level of an advanced wizard. Try to interpret and abstract elements as much as possible, and you'll be able to become a second-rate diviner after graduation."
"Why second-rate? Isn't the content of the Divination class complete?"
Sure enough, Hermione's attention quickly shifted away from the competition.
"I think, more accurately, it should be all classes—well, all Hogwarts courses are somewhat unsatisfying."
Aileen shrugged and lowered her head, climbing out of the Gryffindor tower tunnel, saying.
"If a fresh graduate who has just entered magical society can get a second-rate rating in the corresponding industry, that's already amazing. Hogwarts outside wizards have to extend their working time to at least half a century of wizards to compare, you just think about how much competition there is."
"Of course, that was the case before. Now it's different."
Aileen glanced at the "calculating machine" whose pressure had suddenly increased, and reached out to pull her out of the tunnel.
"Don't forget, in addition to the regular Wizarding Level Assessment at the end of this semester, there are also several industry qualification assessments—the extent of Hogwarts' educational reform should have exceeded the rate of natural experience growth. Let's put it this way, perhaps in the next ten years, Hogwarts graduates will still be considered second-rate wizards after leaving campus, but those predecessors who were barely considered 'second-rate' in the past may even become 'unranked' in the future..."
"Oh? So what level are you and Professor Trelawney in the field of Divination?"
Hermione raised her eyebrows. She noticed Aileen's last look. This white-haired dumpling was probably laughing at her again.
After all, Divination homework was the only thing that Hermione had to ask for help with. Based on the explanations in the textbooks alone, Hermione couldn't piece together the kind of quality that Professor Trelawney required—in the field of Divination, she was clearly that "unranked" one.
"Well, Professor Trelawney, should she be somewhere between a first-rate seer and a second-rate seer?"
Aileen thought seriously for a few seconds. After all, Professor Trelawney's "passive skill" was still very powerful when activated.
"Let's put it this way, third-rate seers rely on speculating about things that have happened in the past, second-rate seers combine the current situation to calculate, and first-rate seers can truly predict part of the future—objective, almost inevitable future. That's the difference."
"What about you?"
"Me? I'm Aileen Kaslana—"
Aileen shrugged and narrowed her eyes happily, answering.
"Let's put it this way, compared to peeking into the future, I prefer to directly tell the 'future' what it should be like."
"Okay. But, dear 'out-of-specification' seer—"
Hermione reached out and grabbed Aileen, who was walking forward, and couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"It seems that your 'future' didn't tell you that you should jump down one step when you pass this step?"
"That's because I predicted your prediction. You definitely won't leave me alone."
Aileen said with a serious face, and while saying that, she shamelessly hugged Hermione and rubbed against her.
"Let's go, let's go have breakfast. There will be very exciting things happening in the next few days... You'd better pay attention to *The Daily Prophet* every day, the content on it is definitely more interesting than the next Divination class—Professor Trelawney can't predict that many reversals."
If nothing unexpected happened, the stage play that she personally finalized should have already opened.
In terms of writing and smearing the future, she, as "Miss Fool," was almost half-step "law of speech."
